About Broadway Cinema & Theatre

The iconic Art Deco Broadway in the heart of Letchworth Garden City is now home to a two-in-one theatre and cinema space

Broadway Cinema & Theatre Description

Building on the success of Broadway Cinema, all our arts venues have been brought together under the umbrella of the Broadway name. These new venues are a key part of the Foundation’s ambition to make Letchworth Garden City an exciting place to live, work and visit, bringing new creative jobs and visitors to our town centre.

In February the next chapter in Broadway’s story begins when Screen One reopens as a creative space which will increase the range and scale of productions we can host – from theatre to children’s shows, live comedy, and acoustic music – and it will still screen the latest blockbuster films. Alongside this, a newly refurbished bar area will open where customers can relax before and after films and performances.

Coming up at the Theatre for fans of Michael Morpurgo - Private Peaceful, suitable for ages 8+.
"Private Peaceful at the theatre is a moving experience that not only tells the story of a young soldier’s final day in World War One, but perhaps more importantly conveys the strength of human spirit." – Michael Morpurgo

We are very sorry to say that Seann Walsh will no longer be performing at the Theatre on 28 Sept, as he's chosen to be on Strictly Come Dancing instead. We've been in touch with nearly all ticket holders, but haven't been able to reach a handful of people. If you haven't heard from us, please call us on 01462 681088 or come in to the venue and we'll process your refund.
Sorry everyone - we are very disappointed that Seann can't join us this year.

The staff were the best part of my experience as they were lovely and very customer service orientated

Not as expensive as other certain big named cinemas (those companies should be ashamed of themselves!) and this means we will happily return to watch films in the future

The only flaw was the dire mess other patrons left the cinema in with their lack of knowledge in how to use a bin!

Great job though Broadway Cinema xxx

The Broadway is a brilliant venue. Great facilities, staff are excellent. Inexpensive refreshments. I just wish some of the customers would respect the Broadway and refrain from talking through the movie, and leaving a mess in the auditorium. Will return again though.

User

Really great place,good service.

User

Really enjoyed live broadcast of Swan Lake last night. Second live broadcast ballet I have been to. Definitely makes Covent Garden performances from the Royal Opera House much more accessible. The documentaries and backstage insights in the intervals are an added bonus. Just remember to pick up your complimentary drink if they are on offer before the performance starts, not at the interval!

User

Polite and helpful staff. Attended a NT Live Broadcast Screening of Yerma from the Young Vic Theatre. Made the experience nice with a complimentary drink voucher on arrival, programmes available in marketing folders and after trays of after dinner mints presented by staff with a smile. Comfy Seat though I booked late so was to the side at the very front. The Theatre programme is also developing and varied with shows for all ages and interests.

User

Perfect cinema and now a fabulous theatre too...lovely, friendly staff...great programme of events & films...a true jewel of a place. we have made many memories here and sure there will be many more to come.

User

Love this theatre and everything it embodies- such a gem for the local community. Staff always pleasant and helpful. Our first choice venue

User

I think that it’s the only cinema that offers such a reasonable price in the week and even though the price increases at the weekend it’s still reasonable.

Staff are always willing to help and what a fab building!

User

I love the Broadway. We went to the live streaming of The Nutcracker and was so impressed with how the staff managed to cope with so many people in a friendly and efficient way. It is wonderful how our local venues can make Ballet and Opera so accessable for all. Thank you so much xxxxxxx we love the midweek cinema too xx

User

I had no idea! What a civilised way of seeing a First class performance without the stress of travelling in to town. The string trio and the complimentary drink were a lovely touch too.

Will definitely be going again.

User

Have supported this lovely cinema since moving back to the area 15 years ago. My husband and I love it. The price is extremely good, the building beautiful and the staff very friendly. Have enjoyed some of the events which are very reasonably priced too and alot closer than London!! Will keep supporting as would hate to lose it.

User

Great cinema. I live 25miles away and prefer to travel here rather than use cineworlds around me. The staff are very good and friendly . They have the sound at a sensible level whereas the other seem to have the sound to loud especially during the adverts. There is also plenty of leg room. I Have also been here a few times for the theatre, which i also found to be excellent.

User

Great cinema, easy parking, friendly and helpful staff, enjoyed the evening watching mama Mia here we go again

User

Fantastic place to view films

I think I have enjoyed every film there from Lawrence of Arabia years ago and the Disney films with the children when they were small, then all the Star Wars films. Lovely staff and decent car parking .All without breaking the bank !

User

Fabulous cinema in the heart of Letchworth. The live relay evenings from the Royal Opera House are a super addition. A lovely surprise to find a drinks reception to open Manon the ballet. Looking forward to my next visit.

User

Cannot fault this place.

Always friendly staff, not overpriced like them awful multiplex places.

Very comfortable seats, always get a good view of the screen no matter what time showing.

Right on top of town and parking is a breeze.

Just love coming here for whatever reason...

User

Brilliant. Nice and intimate, staff fantastic.

User

Always a great experience for the family ....

The staff are helpful and have responded promptly to any queries. So lucky to have this little gem near by

User

Attended a live performance of 'As you like it ' last night. Great interpretation of the play, with modern twists. Particularly liked the Q&A with the actors after the performance. Also the refurbishment looks great and very helpful, friendly staff, nothing too much trouble! A gem of a venue !
