Despite the signs which have appeared this morning without warning, our railway is still open for business and can be accessed for vehicles via the main roundabout from the A140. Pedestrian only access can still be made to the railway from Aylsham town.

Worth every penny, great day out! A must if you have children although, as two mature travellers,we loved it!!

Went on the train & boat ride. Awesome experience for my husbands birthday and our wedfing anniversary. Everything was superb, guard was friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed it, and price was good too!

User

We go there 2 or 3 times a year. My grandson loves steam trains . We have found that the trains are always clean and run on time and the staff at both Wroxham and Aylesham are always friendly and courteous. They also put on special events throughout the year.

User

We did this adventure today, whilst on holiday with my two young (2&3) children & family. My children loved it on the train.. waving there flags out of the window. Was a lovely experience! Friendly atmosphere &very clean! Would recommended highly!

User

Took our 2 year old son on 30th December. We had a great time and so did he!! Highly recommend 🚂

There are several heritage railways in Norfolk. The Bure Valley is unusual as it is a narrow-guage railway which replaced part of the standard guage railway which ran from Norwich to Dereham. The trains are clean & tidy. The journey of 9 miles takes 45 mins. The railway stations Aylsham & Wroxham have a well stocked bookshop & cafeterias. The staff are friendly & helpful.

The BVT is on my bucket list for all my visitors to Norfolk. Wonderful way to showcase our great County.

User

Such a hardworking group. Lovely long journey and lots to see on the way - some tracks are deep in valleys so you see nothing, this however is the best we've seen so far. At the end of the journey a lovely homecooked railway roast dinner - would recommend it!

User

Santa train experience was amazing all the family enjoyed; it was our first time; the steam train was cool; can't recommend enough

User

Lovely journey from Wroxham to Aylsham. Grandchildren (age 4 and 18mths) loved the train and going through the tunnels. ( Under the bridges) We arrived and as train pulled in Santa was waiting with his sleigh to wave to children before he arrived at the station after we waited on the platform. The staff in the dining area were very helpful Nothing was too much trouble. As were the drivers at each destination. We all went to see Santa Children shy at first but he was very good with them. All in all a very nice time was had by us all.

User

Had an afternoon spare and this was a good way to spend it.

User

Had a steam train and broads boat day with my mother n 2 small dogs. Prior to boarding at Aylsham we realised the handles of her motorised scooter were nearly falling off. The lovely guy in the workshop quickly repaired it for us and the friendly guard laid a ramp for us to get into the carriage. Everyone we had contact with was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our whole trip and did think it was worth the money although the cost for the dogs could be less.

User

Had a lovely time visiting Santa with my granddaughter Mia and family. Loved the little train ride. Everyone was very friendly. Mia loved Dave Doughnut, she even went up on stage. Very enjoyable experience.

User

Great little railway for young and old through lovely Norfolk scenery on the old Wroxham to Aylsham line, loved it

User

Fantastic little railway, everyone was so helpful and friendly. We were fortunate in that we had steam one way and diesel for the return journey. We did prefer the steam engine most though! Excellent facilities at both ends of the line. I particularly enjoyed the engineering workshop, it was very well organised and gave the impression of a well run operation. We will be back again, James 14, Laura 15 and dad 52 and a half.

User

Amazing Santa special train, very well organised, great personal service, fab Santa and entertainer and brilliant time had by all family

User

We loved the train, my little boy thought it was awesome, station and train all clean and nicely presented, the only thing that let our day down a bit was the food at the station, very expensive for what it was we felt, my 2 little ones had childrens boxes which sandwiches in, which were both very hard bread in, so not sure if made that day, but very unimpressed with it, we left most of it I'm afraid and took the next train back, but that made up for it, when we do it again I think we would go out of the station and hope to find somewhere else to eat.

But will add the staff that work there are amazing, so friendly and helpful! Really chatted with the kids which was lovely to see.

User

Good day out from wroxham try Biddys tea room at end of line

User

Went to the Teddy Bear event . Took my 2 year old nephew. The train ride was nice, but very disappointed that there weren't anything there for him to do. So took the next train back. Sorry but won't be doing that again
