The health benefits of 100% Pastured Beef and Lamb are well documented but the environmental and welfare benefits are just as compelling
โ€œThese include better carbon sequestration, water infiltration, soil fertility, nutrient recycling, soil formation, biodiversity and wildlife habitat, along with increased ecosystem stability and resilience.โ€

Unbelievable - itโ€™s STILL happening...5 years on from the horse meat scandal! ๐Ÿ˜ก Even more reason to cook your meals from scratch and buy direct from the producer to know where your meat comes from!

Interesting article in the Guardian by fellow @PastureForLife farmer Isabella Tree....

Normally we herd our geese from marshes to paddock to barn. The latest batch of goslings are well imprinted so prefer to follow - which has confused our resident goose herder Polar.
Captain Slow our young #beltie bull was drying off after a bath in preparation for The Aylsham Show and took a keen interest in proceedings - hopefully the goslings are giving him a few tips on moving a bit faster!

We love that our customers like us are so passionate about the provenance of their food and more importantly the welfare of our animals.
All our animals and birds are are allowed to socialise within their herds and flocks, to have space to roam and interact with each other in a natural environment and grow at their natural pace. Our cattle are wholly fed on our bio-diverse grazing marshes and our geese are free ranged in grass paddocks and woodland with supplementary corn fr...om our neighbouring farmer. We are proud that our Belted Galloway Beef carries the Pasture for Life certification mark which is the highest welfare standard for cattle and sheep.
Large scale producers employ clever marketing campaigns to disguise how food is produced, with pictures of lush green fields and trees and terms such as "all natural" and "farm fresh" when the reality is intensive indoor livestock rearing. Mandatory labelling would enable everyone to make more informed desicions about the products they purchase.
Please take a moment to read about this campaign and sign if you agree.

The family of swans on burgh marshes are doing well - still all five sygnets and mum and dad supervising them!

User

Well our efforts to improve our pasture diversity with the introduction of wild flowers looked pretty good a couple of months ago ...but sadly now even the flowers are looking parched...we shall persevere though!

User

User

The Saddlebacks don't mind the hot weather too much they just spend their time sleeping in their mud wallow - today I gave a couple of them a watermelon as a treat which as you can see went down rather well (...and quickly!) ;-)

The arrival of first week in July means that the marshes can be cut for hay. Any nesting birds in particular skylarks and lapwings should have fledged by July - we always walk through the fields before cutting and this year came across a tiny chinese water deer fawn asleep in the long grass...about the size of a rabbit and only a few days old. It's mum came and retrieved it and moved it onto the grazing marsh - the other notable visitors were a pair of kestrels who accompanied us during the whole 5 days picking up tiny mice and field voles!๐Ÿ˜Š

Waveney Beltie Gang had a great Royal Norfolk Show this year even if their behaviour did let them down a little....it was very hot after all! Here are some of our highlights....

User

Today at the Royal Norfolk Show our young Belted Galloway Bull Waveney Harnser came face to face with his Dad Southfields Sonny Boy for the first time - Champion Bull and Reserve Champion - Dad went on to win Best of Breed ....something for the youngster to aspire to maybe....!

We had some topside as a roast. I think it was one of the most delicious tasting beef roasts Iโ€™ve ever had... and Iโ€™m quite fussy.

User

Tucked in to sausages and chops last week from Carr Farm. The sausages had a good flavour and texture and the chops were wonderful. We gave the chops a long slow cook in the AGA and a blast to crisp up that crackling and they were the best we've had in years.

Well done!

User

Thank you much for the early in the day delivery, polite and traditional service. Beautiful goose and beef. Absolute pleasure to order from you and can't wait to taste it. ๏ฟฝ

Taster box was personally delivered by Nicola. Very friendly service it was! Had cooked Sirloin steak last night and it was full on flavour simply with butter, salt and pepper seasoning. That was all it needed as the steak itself spoke quality. Will continue to try a few more of my favourite recipes with other meat products in the box. And I am sure it won't disappoint. Highly recommended!

User

Spectacular Christmas goose- this is the start of a new tradition in my home!

User

Recently had the Belti Taster box and can honestly say itโ€™s the best meat Iโ€™ve ever tasted, canโ€™t recommend these products highly enough, will be ordering again very soon.

User

Now I am a bit fussy, I admit when it comes to beef. It has to be good, so when I was sent out to buy some steaks, burgers and mince from Carr Farm I was unsure ... but quite simply, having now eaten them I can honestly say that it is among the best meat I have ever tasted ... and really good value too. Thanks Nicola and David for providing such great meat (and it is obvious that you really care for the animals as well)

User

Loved our Christmas goose last year! Will definitely be ordering again this year!

User

I bought one of the Beltie Taster Boxes - wow, really lovely flavourful meat! Highly recommended.

User

For our Valentine's supper we have enjoyed the fillet steak from our Beltie box. It was exceptional. To quote my partner "I now understand why people go crazy about steak" We cooked it very simply, 4 mins each side in a preheated pan. It melted in the mouth and was delicious.

User
