Christchurch Harbour Hotel & Spa

About Christchurch Harbour Hotel & Spa

The Christchurch Harbour Hotel dates back to the 18th century and has been carefully restored, with spectacular views across the Mudeford Quay, Dorset.

Christchurch Harbour Hotel & Spa Description

The Christchurch Harbour Hotel & Spa is located in one of the most beautiful spots in Dorset. With wide views over the water to Mudeford Quay and out to sea, the Hotel is separated from the water’s edge by its own garden, where lazy afternoons can be spent relaxing on a recliner, or eating fresh seafood in the sunshine.

Waking up to dazzling views over to the harbour, walking to the sugar-almond coloured beach huts on Hengistbury Head, or indulging with a holistic treatment at our luxurious spa-this is just part of staying at Christchurch Harbour Hotel & Spa. The setting is naturally beautiful, the food is exceptional, rooms are a combination of understated style and total comfort, and peace and quiet is all around. Leaving is the difficult bit!

Well, what can we say other than fantastic! My husband and I got married here on Saturday 16th June 2018 and had the most perfect day! The venue was everything we could have asked for and more, and the staff, well, absolutely amazing! We are still coming down from cloud nine but everyone did a fantastic job and contributed to making our day so perfect! Thank you for everything! xx

User

We were lucky enough to enjoy our mini moon here last year (October 30th) we stayed in room 523 and I would recommend it to anyone! It was fabulous! We enjoyed spa treatments and dinner in the restaurant, the staff were amazing and we were made to feel very special! I am sad we are not returning this year for our first wedding anniversary. Thank you so much to all who made it special xx

User

We are sitting in our room now. What a fantastic place. Got one more night to go. Staff are amazing. So happy & helpful.

Had spa treatments, professional and friendly. Our room is four poster harbour facing. Gorgeous room and wonderful views. There's a wedding taking place and it's a fab atmosphere. Been for a walk along the harbour, watching wind surfers whilst having a seafood lunch.

We had our evening meal last night at The Jetty. Best oysters ever. So fresh.

Our evening meal was in the main restaurant. My partner said it was the best steak he's ever had. We finished with cocktails.

We will be back x

User

Thank you. It was such an amazing day.

To be honest i cant fault anything, from the booking, to the food and organisation of the day, it was superb. Sher was incredible on the day, a real credit to the Harbour Hotel.

Sher, Hannah and the rest of the team, including 2 lovely girls on reception were fantastic and made our day so easy to enjoy. I thank Hannah especially as without you we wouldn't of had the amazing day we did.

Im kinda sad its all over now ha but i would definatly recommend you to anyone i know who is getting married, and we look forward to spending our 1st year anniversary at the Harbour again.

Thank you all so much for everything.

Nicola and Luke.

User

One of my favourite places in the world. We got married here and it was the perfect day. Would definitely recommend for a wedding, stunning scenery, fantastic food and staff. We have been here many times, have stayed here, eaten in the restaurant and visited the spa. Yesterday we took our children and had afternoon tea here and again had a wonderful time. The staff are wonderful and so friendly and we're fantastic with our children. Would highly recommend and can't wait to go back.

User

I had afternoon tea on Saturday for my birthday with 7 others the Waitress was lovely the food was excellent we were all fussy on what we wanted in our sandwiches so a tough table but she did a great job at making sure we all had exactly what we wanted and with enough spare to take home ! Will definitely be returning this summer 🤗

User

Had a wonderful stay over the bank holiday weekend. Fantastic room with beautiful decor, crisp white sheets and fluffy robes. Everything was perfect, including the fact we weren't disturbed once even though there were a number of big events taking place. Great restaurant with impeccably mannered staff. The food was amazing too. Breakfast overlooking the terrace with a view of the water was lovely too. Great choice, well cooked and great service. The spa and pool area was immaculate too. Can't believe we were lying in the sun on the loungers in April. We thought parking would be an issue but if it was busy you could double park and the hotel would take care of the car until a space was available. The reception staff were helpful and efficient. Well done everyone. Wouldn't hesitate in recommending the hotel to others.

User

Had a lovely weekend at the hotel this weekend. This is our third visit and it gets better each time, lovely food, lovely views, a beautiful location and friendly staff. A very relaxing time, we will definitely be back for a fourth visit. Looking forward to it already!

User

Had a lovely lunch on the veranda in the sun. Staff were brilliant, sun was shining and the food was delicious. Would highly recommend 👍

User

Great spa and hotel facilities and friendly staff. By the harbour - nice views on the seafront and beach close by. Christchurch is a nice little town definitely worth a visit !

User

Fantastic harbour view room with amazing views. Staff very friendly and approachable. Spa very good and offers a wide choice of treatments. Dined in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner; both were very enjoyable. Spa opening at 7am is very good for us early birds! Lovely after dinner walk along the jetty and out to Mudeford. Will definitely return! Much better than your sister hotel in St Ives.

User

Excellent position, very good surroundings and excellent staff and facilities. Well worth a visit and we shall be back

User

Always happy when I visit I can’t fault it in any way

User

We have had several Spa days here which include afternoon tea, over the past few years, and have always been impressed which is why return, However Today we could not believe how much the standards have slipped, the spa facilities themselves are brilliant and the treatments and products use are fantastic, we did notice however we were not offered and teas when arriving or even told we could help ourselves and also there was no fruit Available in the sun lounge/Terrace, we were also not given Towels or told were we could help ourselves to them, but the worst thing had to be how bad the service in the upper deck was, we arrived for our afternoon tea booked for 16:30 nobody really seemed to be expecting us, we sat outside on the terrace was given our tea and then never saw a member of staff again, no one came to ask if everything was ok, or did we want more hot water for our tea or any other drinks, we had to go to find staff or go to the bar ourselves where we could see staff standing around folding napkins, in an empty restaurant, the tables on the terrace where full of plates and glasses which was attracting seagulls for the scraps of food, there was a wedding function on in another area of the hotel but should not affect the standards or quality of service to other paying guests, I could almost forgive it, if were one of the cheap end spa days but at these prices too service is what should be given to all guests, I really hope this isn’t the start of this beautiful location Spa going down hill it would be a real shame and we certainly wouldn’t return.

User

Lovely hotel, comfortable room and very nice staff. The only down side is I had to queue up to get seated for breakfast which took some time. When you pay £155 a night that was very disappointing. They also had the wrong charge on my bill but this was rectified

User

Brought my mum on a spa day here yesterday and expected a lot more. Firstly let me say the massage was fantastic and the best part of my day and the facilities are nice and clean. However the lack of beds around the pool and the fact towels are left strewn across them so people cannot sit together made it hard to find somewhere to settle around the pool. Children in the swimming pool was also something never mentioned to us - I respect it is a hotel but please let guests booked in for a spa experience be aware of this - I probably wouldn’t of booked if I knew. Also when asking at reception if we could get food I was simply told ‘no we don’t do that here’.

A lot of friends of mine have booked into the restaurant spontaneously on their spa day and had fantastic experiences but there were no such offers to do so even if it were to advise me the restaurant was full that would of been better than the response I received.

Overall nit picky issues here but will probably save my money and go to a spa elsewhere.

User

Beautiful hotel in a stunning location. Let down by very slow service. Afternoon champagne tea was okay but only average nothing special to go back again for. Hence my 3 stars.

User

A birthday treat. The staff were great in all areas although I was very disappointed with the quality of the lunch. The choice for your £17.50 allowance is poor so you incur more cost if you want a decent lunch. Considering the price of the spa day, this seems to be tactically set. The treatments were pleasant but again too costly. Lots of steps too, so a challenge for anyone who is disabled or infirm.

It was ok, but a one off for me. Better deals and options out there.

User

Had afternoon tea booked for 6 people, when we turned up they didn't have our booking and continuously told us we had the wrong hotel and that lot of people often did. Okay we did travel down from Cardiff for the weekend but don't mean where stupid. All this was despite us having the receipt via email on a phone. After half hour of being told we had made a mistake they finally realised they had but that we were to late for afternoon tea. Although we requested outside seating they sat us in private room, took another half hour to be served drinks gave us a selection of sandwiches and tempura nowhere near enough for 6 and didn't offer any money back or anything complimentary. Staff were very friendly and argued very nicely.
