Christchurch Quay Splashpark Description

Christchurch Quay is an attractive green space located in Christchurch town centre. It is characterised by its riverside setting and views of the 11th century Priory.

It is a great place to enjoy a variety of active and passive leisure pursuits and is also the starting point for many water-based activities.

Being such a large space, the Quay can easily accommodate those who wish to enjoy a quiet picnic or read a book under the shade of a tree as well as those who wish to be a little more boisterous or energetic.

Following a very busy summer the Splash Park is now closed. This summer has been the busiest we ever had, which is largely due to the fantastic weather. We would like to thank everyone who has used our facility responsibly this year and we look forward to welcoming you back in May 2019.

Splashpark Update #3: Our team are working hard this morning to get the Splashpark up and running as normal today, but here is a photo of some of the litter we removed yesterday.
We are particularly concerned about the small micro-balloons that we have found, they are of the type that can be used as ‘water bombs’ and if discarded into the water system they can cause us a lot of problems.
Can we please ask that you do not bring these to the Splashpark, there are lots of ways to have fun with all the water jets and sprays that we have there already! Thank you, as always, for your help in keeping our lovely Splashpark open...

Splashpark Update #2: We have managed to make a temporary repair to the surfacing and have got one of the pumps to work, so the Splashpark is open again today.
We are potentially going to have to close it again later this week to do a more permanent job so please stay tuned for further updates. We need everyone to be really careful not to discard any waste into the system which could block the remaining pump, and please please please use swim nappies for the little ones.
We know how much you all appreciate our Splashpark and thank you for all your messages of support, it really means a lot to us to hear that. If we work together we can keep this facility free for everyone to use which has always been our goal.

Splashpark Update #1: We are very sorry but we are going to have to keep the Splashpark closed for now, we need to replace the main pumping mechanism and also repair some of the safety surfacing which was damaged last week. We will try to get it up and running as soon as possible, we will keep you all updated on this page so please check in daily. Thank you for you patience.

Engineers are on site this morning currently assessing the problem, meanwhile the splashpark is closed.

Unfortunately we will have to close the Splashpark this weekend as yet another blockage has caused both of our submersible pumps to burn out. We are investigating the cause of this and will try to get it back up and running as soon as possible, but can we please ask that our little visitors do not take food into the wet area, and can our grown ups please also ensure that the really young ones are wearing a swim nappy? They are available from the nearby kiosk, or at local stores. Thank you in advance for your help and patience.

We have been getting lots of messages asking if the Splash Park is currently open. It is open daily from 10am - 7pmish daily until early September. If we have to close for maintenance or cleaning we will endeavour to notify everyone via this page with as much notice as possible.

Clean, safe beautiful place, ideal for parents to watch the kids enjoy the water. Only thing I might add is a little more sitting room for parents as I did find it a bit difficult to find a seat.

User

But why have they made the pool bit so small. So many older kids there needs some shaded canopies good fun for s hour
