Went on a fancy dress bar crawl. Ended up in here. Music was absolutely quality! Proper house tunes banging all night. Guy on the bongos was amazing. Never waited once at the bar as there was plenty of staff. Few places in Essex need to take a leaf out of your books. Well done guys!

My husband and I had a meal with another couple last Friday at East Coast Social. We all opted for the fillet steak - it was one of the best steaks I have had. The staff were friendly and couldn't do enough to make our night perfect, especially Jacqui who went above and beyond. We will definitely be returning as soon as we can. Thanks for a top night!

I was at the singing contest last night, I know there was a bit of unrest between two groups of men, but I would just like to say in defence of East Coast Social, and the bar staff, that they were extremely professional about who they were serving. My son is 19 and was drinking last night, and every time he went to the bar they were literally getting everyone he was buying a drink for to show ID. If this was put together from East Coast and the organisers of the competition, I was very impressed. Never been to a bar before where they were so thorough with their checks, and thought the bouncers dealt very effectively with both groups. Great job �

I had a groupon for steak and a bottle of wine for two people , what a bargain! My waitress was attentive and friendly, the food was delicious and the wine was good especially considering it was free with the meal. The decor was cool and the place had a nice vibe. I have nothing to fault on my first trip here I will definitely come back! 👍🏼

Had the Groupon offer of "hot rock steak & chips for 2 with a bottle of wine" offer today. Was absolutely delicious and great value for money. Would highly recommend eating here, even without the offer. Looks a great menu and we will definitely be back to try it. Our waitress was lovely, friendly & helpful and we were made to feel welcome by all the staff.

Had an excellent Xmas meal with 12 friends last night, food was great, service was great, excellent atmosphere & brilliant tunes all night. Will definitely recommend for a great night out. Xxx

East Coast is definitely the go-to option for a lot of Southend's night out scene nowadays, and it does not disappoint.

The service is excellent, the staff are friendly and attentive and the food and beverage selection is on point!

I must also highly recommend the Open Mic nights, as the talent is simply fantastic!

went there with a groupon voucher and had the burger and fries meal for 2 with the wife the food was good ,,no offence you cant really go wrong with that ,,,with the meal i had a bitter shandy,and to be truthful there was more fizz in seawater than the beer.. food ok .drink nah sorry mmm hard to post this is only you mark it good

Bit expensive but a very nice place, great atmosphere, nice beer and ales, good food also ,friendly staff ,great customer service one of best places in the town

Went there tonight for a birthday meal. Table was booked for 8pm and all meals had been pre-ordered. Starters didn't come out until 9pm and then after they were finished another further half hour before mains came out so didn't eat mains until nearly 10pm. Considering all food was pre ordered this was terrible service. The food was nice but not nice enough to have to wait nearly 2hrs for it. No discount was offered for the delay even though it was complained about. Definitely would not recommend for a nice meal out and will not be going back.

Nice place, love the open doors to the street, staff attentive and polite and a pint of Amstel was 3.95 so no o.t.t.



Light, airy and reminded me of places I have been to in the USA.



Only observation....(Not a moan!) was there was little on the menu for vegetarians or vegans, like one choice?

nice venue, polite bar staff, a possible good evening spoilt by one bouncer in a vest. I was singled out and told to take off my coat, whilst there were many, many others around me with coats on. If you are going to try and enforce a self created rule then at least be consistent. He obviously does not like to be consistent as all the other bouncers wore jackets and looked uniform, this poser stood by the dj in his vest, not a good representation for the venue. I don't expect a response as I notice you only respond to the few positive reviews but never the negative reviews - which all seem to be about your door staff (at least some consistency there).

Turned away before we could have had a chance of enjoying our evening. Told we were too drunk even tho we hadn't had a drink that evening. Was clearly because we weren't dressed in slutty clothing. I went there for a friends birthday, we paid 100 pounds to reserve the table from 9 pm on Saturday, when we got there we all walked past the door staff on the way in, and everything was fine for the first few hours as we mostly had drinks brought to the table, but at around 12 pm I went up to the bar to get a round of drinks in and a bouncer taped me on the shoulder and said we don't allow hoodies, I said I'm only using it as a jacket and the hood isn't up, he said I don't care your not allowed to have it on. So I took it off but while I was removing it, I asked why they hadn't they said anything to us when we came in 3 hours ago, and why hasn't anyone mentioned anything to me or 2 of the group of 10 I was with, who also had hoodies style jackets on, he said I don't like your attitude and rugby tackled me out of the club. Then about 3 or 4 of them are all telling me to get lost, and being intimidating outside the club and I was just talking to them saying what about my friends inside and one of them assaulted me by using both hands to push me into the street. Ive called the manager to talk to him about this but he won't ring me back and when I call he has mysteriously stepped out and is not available.



( Edit) I can't seem to respond to your reply, but I will never write you a apology when I'm the one who was assaulted by your staff, for the Crime of wearing a item of clothing that nobody said anything about for the previous 3 hours and if you even have such a policy what is the purpose of it??? I can understand not being allowed to wear a hood up for CCTV reasons but when its just a jacket??? And like I said even once I was outside your premises your staff pushed me into the street witch is clearly on CCTV and is assault as they had no right to lay hands on me in the street.

Around 20 of us went for a meal, food came out cold,(starters and mains) sent back and still cold, was told if you order medium steak then it will be cold..ok then. Got at least one thing from each order wrong, everydish was a mistake and had to be changed, sweet potato fries were uneditable, girls serving were nice enough but 'manager' was very rude, argumentive, slamming doors when we complained. Two of us didn't even eat the meal at all. Over priced, average food, better off spending your cash else where. Sometimes it's not the issue it's how it was dealt with, was was dealt with completely unprofessional, no manners, just rude, espesically the woment with short dark bobed hair, u may want to rethink ur table manners. They brought over a bottle of prosecco, well sorry not good enough. So safe to say we wasted over £300 some left hungry, all dissatisfied and will never be returning to this restaurant. Oh and even got the bill wrong and over charging us lol.

Had the Groupon offer of "hot rock steak & chips for 2 with a bottle of wine" offer today. Was absolutely delicious and great value for money. Would highly recommend eating here, even without the offer. Looks a great menu and we will definitely be back to try it. Our waitress was lovely, friendly & helpful and we were made to feel welcome by all the staff.

Had an excellent Xmas meal with 12 friends last night, food was great, service was great, excellent atmosphere & brilliant tunes all night. Will definitely recommend for a great night out. Xxx

East Coast is definitely the go-to option for a lot of Southend's night out scene nowadays, and it does not disappoint.

The service is excellent, the staff are friendly and attentive and the food and beverage selection is on point!

I must also highly recommend the Open Mic nights, as the talent is simply fantastic!

went there with a groupon voucher and had the burger and fries meal for 2 with the wife the food was good ,,no offence you cant really go wrong with that ,,,with the meal i had a bitter shandy,and to be truthful there was more fizz in seawater than the beer.. food ok .drink nah sorry mmm hard to post this is only you mark it good

Lunch for 3 yesterday. Polite staff and good food. I would recommend.

Bit expensive but a very nice place, great atmosphere, nice beer and ales, good food also ,friendly staff ,great customer service one of best places in the town

Went there tonight for a birthday meal. Table was booked for 8pm and all meals had been pre-ordered. Starters didn't come out until 9pm and then after they were finished another further half hour before mains came out so didn't eat mains until nearly 10pm. Considering all food was pre ordered this was terrible service. The food was nice but not nice enough to have to wait nearly 2hrs for it. No discount was offered for the delay even though it was complained about. Definitely would not recommend for a nice meal out and will not be going back.

Nice place, love the open doors to the street, staff attentive and polite and a pint of Amstel was 3.95 so no o.t.t.



Light, airy and reminded me of places I have been to in the USA.



Only observation....(Not a moan!) was there was little on the menu for vegetarians or vegans, like one choice?



Other than that a really nice place to spend an hour whilst shopping.

nice venue, polite bar staff, a possible good evening spoilt by one bouncer in a vest. I was singled out and told to take off my coat, whilst there were many, many others around me with coats on. If you are going to try and enforce a self created rule then at least be consistent. He obviously does not like to be consistent as all the other bouncers wore jackets and looked uniform, this poser stood by the dj in his vest, not a good representation for the venue. I don't expect a response as I notice you only respond to the few positive reviews but never the negative reviews - which all seem to be about your door staff (at least some consistency there).

Turned away before we could have had a chance of enjoying our evening. Told we were too drunk even tho we hadn't had a drink that evening. Was clearly because we weren't dressed in slutty clothing. Absolutely outraged and embarrassed. Should be ashamed of the establishment. Big bald bouncer causing unessasaey problems. Should be sacked. Heard many problems about him. Management sort it out.

Tried to get in last night for a drink.. the place was half empty but the bouncers were telling people it's 1 in 1 out...



Wait for 30 minutes in the queue outside, only to get to the front and not be let in because my red coat that I was wearing was "too bright"...



A red bomber jacket was too bright so I wasn't allowed in.

Most rude and power mad bouncers ever. I went there for a friends birthday, we paid 100 pounds to reserve the table from 9 pm on Saturday, when we got there we all walked past the door staff on the way in, and everything was fine for the first few hours as we mostly had drinks brought to the table, but at around 12 pm I went up to the bar to get a round of drinks in and a bouncer taped me on the shoulder and said we don't allow hoodies, I said I'm only using it as a jacket and the hood isn't up, he said I don't care your not allowed to have it on. So I took it off but while I was removing it, I asked why they hadn't they said anything to us when we came in 3 hours ago, and why hasn't anyone mentioned anything to me or 2 of the group of 10 I was with, who also had hoodies style jackets on, he said I don't like your attitude and rugby tackled me out of the club. Then about 3 or 4 of them are all telling me to get lost, and being intimidating outside the club and I was just talking to them saying what about my friends inside and one of them assaulted me by using both hands to push me into the street. Ive called the manager to talk to him about this but he won't ring me back and when I call he has mysteriously stepped out and is not available.



( Edit) I can't seem to respond to your reply, but I will never write you a apology when I'm the one who was assaulted by your staff, for the Crime of wearing a item of clothing that nobody said anything about for the previous 3 hours and if you even have such a policy what is the purpose of it??? I can understand not being allowed to wear a hood up for CCTV reasons but when its just a jacket??? And like I said even once I was outside your premises your staff pushed me into the street witch is clearly on CCTV and is assault as they had no right to lay hands on me in the street.

It's was ok!.. but the bouncers are arrogant and rude. No body was drunk or doing anything to warrant the arrogance, clearly unhappy in there job or get a power trip out of talking to people like a piece of shit!!... would never go back for that reason alone!!.. and have posted this everywhere for that reason!.

Around 20 of us went for a meal, food came out cold,(starters and mains) sent back and still cold, was told if you order medium steak then it will be cold..ok then. Got at least one thing from each order wrong, everydish was a mistake and had to be changed, sweet potato fries were uneditable, girls serving were nice enough but 'manager' was very rude, argumentive, slamming doors when we complained. Two of us didn't even eat the meal at all. Over priced, average food, better off spending your cash else where. Sometimes it's not the issue it's how it was dealt with, was was dealt with completely unprofessional, no manners, just rude, espesically the woment with short dark bobed hair, u may want to rethink ur table manners. They brought over a bottle of prosecco, well sorry not good enough. So safe to say we wasted over £300 some left hungry, all dissatisfied and will never be returning to this restaurant. Oh and even got the bill wrong and over charging us lol.
