Today is all about stem mixing for a big live show. 22 songs all completely different components. It’s organisation day today!

This weekend we had Rock Fall in the studio recording their new EP. Great live tracking session with some bluesy results!

Wonderful acoustics / sound in the live room at Crooks Hall Studios.

John Metcalfe & his team know the best way to mike it.

All you have to do is plug in and play.... And give it your best shot :)

We went to record our EP with John and I went in feeling somewhat dubious... I’m a total perfectionist and felt sure I would feel a bit frustrated that nobody else could hear all the little faults/mistakes etc and sure that I’d be happy but not 100% confident with the result. � However, within approximately 2.5 minutes of walking in I realised this guy got it. He had prepared in advance by watching our videos and made a brilliant suggestion which just completely captured the sound we wanted. He somehow just picked up on things if we didn’t do it quite our best &openly suggested we try again without making us feel embarrassed or silly, he noticed everything & clearly just wanted us to get the very best result possible &didn’t waste any time in the process. Here we are -not quite a week after leaving the studio- with an EP we are SO happy with and can’t wait to get sharing. We had a really productive day, got 5 tracks done with time to spare and the result is EXACTLY what we wanted. Give him your money, you won’t be disappointed!!! Thankyou John!!!! Xxx

We recorded our EP at Crooks Hall last week, (we’re really pleased with it!) and as other reviewers have pointed out, John is highly professional and a highly skilled engineer/producer. He pays attention to all the little details and took the time to listen to our videos and understand what we were all about before we got there! If you’re unsure as to whether to take the plunge and book a studio session as we were then all I can say we’re so glad we did!

We have just finished recording our debut EP with John at Crooks hall, we have all been hugely impressed by Johns professionalism and friendly attitude throughout the whole process, and we couldn't be happier with the final result. John has sent us several drafts to make sure we were happy with the mix, and has been communicative and approachable throughout! I'd thouroughly recommend Crooks hall to anyone and everyone looking to record!
