Croxley is a station on the London Underground in Croxley Green, Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire, on the Watford branch of the Metropolitan line and it is the only intermediate station on the branch between the terminus at and on the main line from to It is in Travelcard Zone 7. The station is situated on Watford Road, the A412, in Croxley Green. History2 November 1925: station opened as "Croxley Green" on the Metropolitan Railway's extension to opened from both and ;23 May 1949: station renamed "Croxley"3 January 1960: Passenger service to Rickmansworth withdrawn11 May 1987: early morning services from Rickmansworth reinstatedCroxley Rail LinkThe Croxley Rail Link is a railway engineering project which would result in the Watford branch services on the London Underground's Metropolitan line being diverted at Baldwins Lane from the current terminus at Watford tube station onto the alignment of the disused Watford and Rickmansworth Railway between Croxley Green railway station and Watford High Street stations before continuing to Watford Junction. The diversion requires the construction of a viaduct over the Grand Union Canal, River Gade and A412 road. On 25 January 2017, the Watford Observer newspaper published an update on the Croxley Rail Link confirming work had stopped as there was an ongoing funding issue
