So this weekends game gave us the toughest test yet with a highly capable Dereham Taverners team.
We did ourselves no favours in the first half and our opposition took advantage. They played some great football, good passing, kept possession well and counterattacked at pace.
We went in at halftime time 0-2 down.
... Second half was a different story. We showed we were up for a fight and took the game to them. We looked dangerous from set pieces and finally got a deserved goal from a cracking Cordy strike on the edge of the box.
Other chances came our way but we failed to put the ball in the back of the net for a second time.
Game finished a 1-2 loss
Some key learnings taken from the game will help us improve going forward.
Luke Bunn takes MoM after another great performance.
Thanks to everyone that came down to support us - it’s really appreciated!
No game on 6th Oct and a couple of away games after that.

Probably our toughest game yet but we still came out with a 2-1 win to continue our unbeaten run of 3 games.
A couple of players returning this week and a couple needing to sit out meant a slightly different line up.
A tough first half with a couple of players picking up knocks meant we needed to make a change - Chris Freeman wasted no time announcing his return to the team with a goal within his first couple of touches ⚽️
... Watlington continued to frustrate us, played some great passing football and pulled our formation about.
The second half started much the same but the difference came from a Dom Howell lob that hit the bar only to be followed up by the fully committed Masters to take Dersy 2-0 up. ⚽️
Watlington then brought the game to us and stretched us across the park. They tested the defence on a number of occasions and got the breakthrough they deserved to take it to 2-1
We managed to close out the rest of the half and hold on for the win.
Luke Bunn was superb down the right hand side and only just missed out on MOTM to the ever present Joe Dean. 🥇
Some big learnings this week and really tested our resolve as a unit and team.
Thanks as always to Kat Nelligan on tea duty, Fraser on the bar and Nelly, Nathan Bunting and Colly for all their work behind the scenes. 🙌🏼👏🏼🙌🏼👏🏼🙌🏼< br> Next up : Primary Cup @ Home to Tavern Old Boys

Dersingham Res arrived River Lane wondering what to expect from a team that has bagged 19 goals in two games.
With a couple of players missing including our keeper an SOS call to the 'original sweeper keeper' (his claim) Fogtez was required.
Dersy started brilliantly with chances in the first few minutes.
... Harry Sands had an amazing first half causing the opposition lots of problems.
The only thing missing for Dersy in the first half was goals.
The second half saw a loss of shape as the search for a goal was becoming more urgent.
On came Smithy, Bunny and Harley Cracknell
It gave Dersy the breakthrough required with the subs making an instant impact.
Goals from Sands, Smithy and a penalty from Ydrof sealed a 3-0 win
It was a close call for man of the match but after a management team vote - Cordy takes it this week with some well timed tackles making the difference.
Special mention for Fogtez saving our bacon on a couple of occasions!
Next game at HOME to Watlington.

A great start to the season at home today to Gayton A
Dersingham dominated the first half with some smart passing and pressing. Harry Sands was as energetic as ever down the right hand side, creating lots of chances.
Goals from Nipper (2) and Dominic Howell, along with a cracking strike from the edge of the box from Vicey, meant Dersy went in at half time with a 4-0 lead
... Dersy's focus and determination dipped in the second half with only a few chances to mention. Jamie Duckhouse and Harley Cracknell had a couple efforts from outside the box and Cordy saw a half way line effort strike the bar!
The game ended 4-0
The evergreen Nipper was everywhere today as well as scoring 2 so takes the well deserved MOTM award.
Thanks to our supporters today.
Thanks also to Foggy and Kat Nelligan for doing the bar, tea's and grub
