Dinky Town - Play Centre

About Dinky Town - Play Centre

A unique children's indoor play centre based on a mini sized town and imaginary role play.
Suitable for young children with big imaginations.

Dinky Town - Play Centre Description

Dinky Town is an imaginative indoor play centre for children based in Oulton Broad, Lowestoft, Suffolk.

We have our very own role play town where children can independently explore and play within a safe and secure environment.

With a supermarket, cafe, doctors, vets, theatre, fire station and construction area your little ones can become an adult within their very own child sized town. Our town is fully stocked with complimentary accessories, dressing up costumes and ride-on toys, all the children need to bring is their big imaginations and kind hands.

Suitable from walking to around 6 /7 yrs of age. However, there is no age limit. If your child loves imaginative play they will always be welcome at Dinky Town. We do just ask older children to respect the play area is predominantly for the younger visitors, to not run, climb and to refrain from trying on costumes that may be too small for them.

A cafe snack bar will be available serving hot and cold drinks, snacks and plenty of cake!

Wow!!!! We had my little ladies 3rd birthday party at Dinky Town on Monday (7th May) and it was amazing. The kids all loved it, the staff couldn't have been any more helpful and attentive..... Can't thank you enough. X

User

What can I say... a fabulous party venue! Alison, Katie and all the staff made my daughters 3rd birthday amazing for her. She had such a lovely time and so did all her friends. The staff couldnŌĆÖt have been more helpful. Made it truly stress-free for my husband and me! Thank you!

User

Went today with my nephews, they absolutely loved the refurb, so much more to play with! Myself and my nephew thoroughly enjoyed the new milkshakes too! Oh and great music on from all the kiddies favourite films. Highly recommended ’┐Į’┐Į’┐Į’┐Į’┐Į

User

We've had a lovely couple of visits recently and my boys (aged four and two) have had a great time here! So sorry to hear you're closing at the end of May. It's such a shame we've only just discovered you. Good luck for the future!

User

Visited today with my two daughters, aged 19 months and 5years.

Both girls really enjoyed all the different play stations and dressing up costumes.

Very clean, friendly staff, a nice cup of tea. Will definitely be returning in the future, and will recommend to friends.

I felt another little white gate (like the entrance gate) might have been handy near the entrance to the toilet area, as my nosey little one, kept going round there and trying to climb on the chairs etc.

This is in no way a criticism just an idea!

User

Thank you so much for putting on a brilliant halloween party perfect for little ones. My little boy is always excited to go here and loved it even more tonight with the decorations and halloween buffet was just perfect. Such a great place so much fun, we look forward to anymore events you decide to do. Thank you again for a great party and making my little boy so happy Xx

User

Thank you for a lovely time today! My little boy had a great time and was so pleased to be able to buy him soya milk to drink. This was the first time IŌĆÖve been able to do this whilst at a play area, so a massive well done for offering something different and catering for childrenŌĆÖs allergies!

Our son celebrated his 2nd birthday at Dinkytown on Sunday 4th of March, he had a wonderful party. The staff were so helpful and kept everything running smoothly. They helped put up decorations before the party started, they organised the food tables and provided delicious food for both children and adults. They made sure the cake moment was made special and cut it up for the party bags and for the adults. Dinky dog made an appearance and my son was so happy to see him!! Dinkytown created a fun and happy setting for our sons birthday and they made it very enjoyable for us too, as nothing was too much trouble. Thank you to all staff for a lovely party!

User

My nearly 2 year old daughter loves dinky town! We went today based on the knowledge that it was closing tomorrow! I just knew we had to get one more play in before It closed, to then be told itŌĆÖs actually staying open, weŌĆÖre so excited! We will be back very very soon!

User

I went to Dinky town for the first time last week and am going to be returning tomorrow so her Dad can see how much she enjoyed it. Am very sad that it is closing as i would take her regularly if this wasnt the case. This is a lovely area for young children, very clean and staff members polite cant wait to re visit xx

User

I recently had my daughters birthday party at Dinky town, the place is very well run and clean and the staff couldn't have been more helpful and were always one step ahead I'm also a regular customer at dinky town and have always found it to be a lovely place for young children.

Great day as always

Mad haters tea party worth every penny 10 out of 10 !!

User

Absolutely fantastic! What a great way to encourage imaginative play. It is very clean, safe and well looked after. My son absolutely loved it and it was so nice to have something different than a soft play which all seem to be the same now. Very easy booking system and parking was next door with a pay and display machine (┬Ż1 per hour which is very reasonable).

The staff member that we spoke to was amazing. Very friendly and informative. When she wasn't serving other customers she was continually putting the props back to where they started so that all of the children could have the same experience from the beginning. Highly recommend individual parents and groups of parents coming with your little ones, I wish we lived nearer to come back again!

User

Would normally have given dinky town a 5* as we've never had any problems and think it's a lovely place to bring the kids. However have come away today feeling upset and angry with the way the staff conducted themselves.. On entering my 1 year old walked straight into the play area... I was going to put my bag down to then remove her shoes but straight away told 'no shoes in the play area'... Being fully aware of this, unfortunately I only have one pair of hands and it was a matter of seconds! Secondly my 1 year old came over to me to let me know she'd 'poo' I was just finishing the part on the ceramics that we were painting then going to change her...for another member of staff to come and tell me my daughters nappy needs changing.. Again fully aware, thank you. Then finally my son (granted was behaving in an unacceptable way) but the staff that approached me was very abrupt in telling me exactly what he had been doing and how the childs mum was 'fuming'.. I'm pretty sure I would have known the mum wouldn't be overly happy with my sons behaviour and personally feel being told how angry the other mum was, was unnecessary and unprofessional.. I would have personally liked to have got my son to apologise for his behaviour, but instead felt embarrassed and angry with the way it had been dealt with and as a result left early! With 4 children, I normally feel at ease bringing them to dinky town and letting them play but after today I no longer feel that way and would hesitate to bring them again!

User

I visited yesterday with my 2 grandchildren, we checked in around 13.15 and I paid for 2 children and 2 coffees. Deeply disappointed to be told at 14.30 that they were closing at 3pm for a private party, if I had been told that at the time of paying I would've gone to another play centre as it cut our playtime short, I had checked online and saw it advertised as being open until 4pm. Quite expensive for less than 2hrs of play tbh.

User

I sent you an email (on Thursday) re my experience here on Wednesday but havenŌĆÖt heard back? I see another lady had the same issue, but as she put her comments on Facebook sheŌĆÖs had a response...

User

I just wanted to leave a little review after returning a couple of days ago since being re-opened.

The first time round I absolutely loved it but now as there are not sessions, you can turn up whenever, I found it so so messy?! ’┐Į

You have your different areas to play in, doctors, vets, fire station etc. But parts of the picnic area are found in the police station, lipstick is in the fire station, thereŌĆÖs just stuff everywhere??! It was just a mess.

I feel when having the session you could turn the place around again, so when the next children came into play, everything was in the right area.

I hope you understand what I mean but IŌĆÖm really disappointed with this change and IŌĆÖm not sure I would return any time soon.

I feel itŌĆÖs a good venue for a party but I wouldnŌĆÖt go towards the end of the day because itŌĆÖs pointless.

My nearly 2 year old daughter loves dinky town! We went today based on the knowledge that it was closing tomorrow! I just knew we had to get one more play in before It closed, to then be told itŌĆÖs actually staying open, weŌĆÖre so excited! We will be back very very soon!

Am very sad that it is closing as i would take her regularly if this wasnt the case. This is a lovely area for young children, very clean and staff members polite cant wait to re visit xx

I sent you an email (on Thursday) re my experience here on Wednesday but havenŌĆÖt heard back? I see another lady had the same issue, but as she put her comments on Facebook sheŌĆÖs had a response...
