Donnelli's Pizzeria Wroxham will now be opening on Thursday 22nd of March!
Due to the snow and ice last week we have had to delay the opening of Donnelli's Pizzeria in Wroxham until Thursday 22nd of March. We would rather delay and get things right and are so sorry for the disappointment this will cause, but as we are well aware we will never get a second chance to make a first impression!
We look forward to seeing you soon,

What a disappointment!

I haven't had the delights of an Italian pizza for quite some time, so we were really looking forward to trying the much hyped Hoveton Donnelli's Pizzeria.

We ordered takeaway Torino pizza with extras of mushrooms and salami.

The order was late, 15 minutes late, not the reason for the poor review, nor was the sullen manner of the delivery driver, it's the quality of the pizza we have the gripe about.

First impressions was a very over done and burnt virtually empty looking pizza that rattled around in a 12 inch box and that was the highlight of our experience, it all went down hill from there...

A Torino is advertised as having mozzarella, olives, capers and anchovies and fresh garlic. A cursery look and a very quick count gave us 7 olives, two pieces of mozzorella four pieces of anchovy and not a caper in sight. "Ah" we thought they must be all hidden under the two slices of salami and the estimated two sliced button mushrooms. (They weren't in total we found one yes ONE caper...)

Taste was something to behold, but not in a good way.

Anchovies, poor quality, very dry and salty, no fish taste, no delicious oils, just an over whelming taste of salt.

Salami, slightly greasy salty paper

Mushrooms tasteless

Mozzorella, paper thin and you've guessed it, salty.

Olives, they weren't salty, they were nothing, they tasted like olives that had been taken out of a jar and had been washed under the tap until all of the flavour had been taken away and they had a very odd texture to them.

There was no garlic to be seen or tasted, I did get a wiff of it at one point, but no taste, maybe it was just masked by the saltiness of everything else?

Even the pizza base itself was quite salty, couldn't taste much else, because it was burnt from the outer edge to a third of the way in and soggy for the rest of the pizza.

All in all not a good pizza and certainly not authentic and it certainly didn't taste like it was made from fresh quality ingredients.

Would I buy again, no way, would I accept one bought by someone else, certainly not.

User

Not very pleased, £11!! Tomato base, mozzarella, mushrooms....dough was fab, toppings, awful, no seasoning, fresh basil or fresh mozzarella etc... mushrooms were acidic.. overpriced flavourless unimaginative 🍕, gutted..

User

Not sure how this place gets 5 stars? We had takeaway via just eat. Pizza had no flavour, soggy in the middle and completely burnt on the outside. The focaccia was just over cooked pizza base with rosemary and salt... nothing like focaccia should be. I’d really looked forward to trying this place after the reviews but very disappointed!
