We popped in yesterday with our dad for lunch and there was no free tables, however the landlord was so accommodating and got us out a table and 4 chairs and fitted us in, could not believe this fantastic service xx the food was so good , we highly recommend the pork belly and cod roe !! Best meal we have had in such a long time. Over all a fantastic service, fantastic place , very welcoming staff and superb food , well done Douglas Bader we highly recommend to all we meet xx

Tastefully re-decorated, I attended on the re-opening for a meal which I felt was even better the previous occupants provided, (which I also enjoyed !). I was also pleased that the new owners decided to keep the Bader name instead of changing it to something more trendy, which seems to be in vogue nowadays! Recommended !!

Sitting here now drinking a Christmas Prosecco cocktail �. Like the new decor and the open plan layout. Food is very much improved too now there are new owners, can recommend the chilli con carne, it was lush!

Since the refurbishment the pub has become very popular. Been in there several times since, and the food has been good quality.

Only slight down side, other than swings outside no where for children to play, our grand children used to like the little play area inside !!

Had a meal here on the opening night. Food was delicious with good prices, the decor is welcoming, staff were tip top and friendly. I thoroughly recommend you try it, we will certainly be going back. Good luck to all those that work, serve and manage this great venue. They deserve it!!����

We were here last night, and many times before,we always get good service, the staff are really nice and attentive, and the food is good, always hot, served quickly,and it's reasonably priced,the specials board is changed daily,any meal can be normal or light bite,and good beer, lol.

Lovely to see the boss mucking in and working hard. Lovely staff everytime I have been. Only ever had one bad meal out of about 10. Id say that's pretty good �. Good atmosphere. Would recommend 100%

My partner and I shared the 'sharing plate' which included spicy Korean chicken skewer, salad, breaded mushrooms plus dish of chips with cheese plus two small pots of BBQ sauce and garlic mayo. Very disappointing. You would never know the chicken had been treated in anyway, tasted like chunks (about 4) of chicken breast on a skewer. Nothing was freshly prepared, salad was some extremely limp rocket strands.



Our family ordered pies and said they were very nice. Tea was made with sub-boiling water 😠 and coffees were poor. Food at local Tesco much better, what a shame.

Worst experience, went out for birthday dinner and was told at 6pm that we was unable to order food because there was an hour wait but more importantly the bartender didn’t even want to contemplate taking an order even though I’m sure they don’t stop taking food orders until 9pm

Not happy with the staff using the till. Training must be done before putting anyone taking orders and using the till. If we did not check our bill your staff would have charge us, on my friend's credit card, SOMEONE else order.

Then to make the matters worse what we ordered for starters was brought in the same time as the mains.

Can't even get the fish and chips right 1st had a hair init and the 2nd was soggy the other half had prawn salad witch was tasteless and watery won't be back

When manager eventually came out, he gave us a sob story about not wanting to give a refund for the meal as it would come out of his own pocket !
