UPDATE: Operations at DP World London Gateway Port have now resumed. Terminal staff have been working throughout the morning to clear snow from port equipment, following last night's heavy snowfall. Thank you for bearing with us! We will continue to monitor the weather and update again if necessary, here: http://www.londongateway.com/port/port-al erts
Here is a picture taken by Gate Services Coordinator Julie Turner this morning. A freezing fog descended on the terminal after heavy snowfall during the night...

We’re pleased to announce that CMA CGM GROUP (Official), a world leader in maritime transport, is to take a long-term lease and invest in a build-to-suit, multi-temperature warehouse facility at DP World London Gateway Port and Logistics Park.
This development and growth of CMA CGM’s reefer volumes ties in with DP World London Gateway’s ability to deliver time and cost savings, as well as reduce waste and carbon use through a one-stop-shop logistics solution that will increase product speed-to-market and reduce haulier mileage.

Could portcentric solutions, taking up to 2000 drivers per day off of UK roads, be one possible solution to driver shortages?

It was a very busy weekend of enabling trade at DP World London Gateway Port and Logistics Park.
Seven vessels worked over two days, including Maersk Line's stunning new 20,568teu ship, Monaco Maersk.
Here's a selection of shots taken by Port Operations Director, Andrew Bowen.

We were pleased to welcome the Mayor of Thurrock, Cllr Tunde Ojetola and High Sheriff of Essex, Simon Hall MBE, to the Port and Logistics park last week.
We showed The Mayor, the Mayoress Bunmi Ojetola, the High Sheriff and his chaplain, the state-of-the-art facilities, talked to them about our community work and our future plans, before introducing the group to DP World’s UK Chief Executive Officer, Chris Lewis.

The Dutch company, Port Liner, is building two giant all-electric barges to operate in the coastal highways between the Netherlands and Belgium.
Do you think electric barges (or Tesla ships as they are being dubbed) could work for London?

On the 22nd day of DP World London Gateway’s 25 days of Christmas we… 🗓
have had a magical morning here celebrating Christmas with around 100 of our team's children. We've enjoyed a Christmas pantomime, a visit to Santa's 🎅 grotto and snow much fun in a snow globe. (Where were these when we were little? Amazing) ⛄️
Feeling very Christmassy indeed. 🎄

Security were excellent escorting me through service lane to where I needed to go to load.

User

Great place. Quick turn around. But only problems. No parking and shit toilets for drivers

User

Port is better than most

Officiant fast when it's working right

Only one draw back you don't want to get stuck here with not much truck park space and I think it applies to all docks as they want the containers to turn around but don't want to help the drivers that deliver and collect them buy supplying safe parking showers and a hot meal

I think if they had a lorry park with facilities drivers would not object to paying a fee within reasonable costing

User

I've been in an out since it opened..I changed job in Jan an this seems to be our main port now..driver facility's are crap. It needs decent parking an canteen toilets etc ..otherwise ive not had any issues..ive found out if you go thru scanners to fast you have to enter all info on screens ...toodle thru an by the time u get too reader it's all there ..

User

Good Turnaround, absaloute NO Driver facilities what so ever. A shame, but that's the way Drivers are treated.

User

Been loads of times, 95% of the time your in and out but those times something goes wrong and you have to wait, very little if any information passed to drivers also no toilets near the lanes, not even a porta loo for a pee. Apart from the small faults it's a great modern quick facility!

User

Been coming here since it opened and love the ease with which I get loaded like how u set your trl in your bay before u start unlike other Docks where u have to find somewhere safe

Facilities are poor but a custom built truck Park with toilets and showers and restaurant is to be built near the offices I am led to believe so it can only get better

User

Totally rammed! 5 hours to tip and turn, that really is not good enough

As a container dock yep 9/10 for ease of use but for driver facilities it’s bad no parking on site they closed the parking area they had as it’s been sold off to Hireco and the toilet behind the security hut is a stink hole they need to make a truck park down there and big enough for 100 trucks at least with some decent facilities for the drivers !

User

When port first opened. Was very good service times. Understood there would be teething problems being new as time went on and traffic got increased.

The port had made space available for trucks as in a parking area where you could go if you early for your vbs or had issues or even had to overnight. The area they had was basic with a portaloo in it. But it seemed like they were concerned and was thinking about drivers and there loads.

They then moved the first truck park to build there own dp world warehouse.

They then allocated another area for the trucks. Which was again just a basic area with portaloo. But great they still taking consideration for trucks and drivers. They then turned that into Maritimes yard.

But the then leased/rented the old imperial tanks yard which now hireco. Again basic but consideration been taken.

Then that got closed and nothing was done for trucks to go to.

I then found out that they are building a actual truck park in the logistics park which will open in the summer. Which is great thank you. But what are we supposed to do in the mean time.

User

More toilets are needed,1 toilet for drivers in a place that busy

Shocking

User

Bad enough you have no toilets and no parking lanes for a 45'er ....at least.

Sistem getting tired every day . If something goes wrong with machines/cranes,you end up waiting for 2hrs . Same applyes for Pentalver ...

User

london gateway port is a privatised arab owned corporation that has its own police. why is our government allowed to get away with selling our ports to foriegn corporations and have its owns laws. wake up people

User

Worse dock to go on the staff just ignore you the machines or so slow I hate it

User

Was good when it first opened now probably the worst port out of all 5 hours yesterday to get a box on ran out off hours then no where to park .you try to find out what the problem is and they say they have a back log .how does that work when u have a vbs booking time a complete joke

User

Not driver friendly in any shape or form...No truck park and absolutely no toilet facilities once you get onto the quay.

Its like we dont exist or have any needs.

If there was an option to give this place a "0" then thats exactly what it would get.

Same at the DP World at Southampton...No toilet facilities for drivers once you are on the quay!

User

No where to park near by if you have a problem or overnight 1 toilet at ingate nothing else so if you’re stuck on site for 2 or 3 hrs it’s tuff shit then the nearest place when you get out is Thurrock services rules and regulations with apply to everyone except black scanias and a couple of other local small hauliers! Stacks filled up with shunt skates only leaving 1 or 2 lanes for outside hauliers! Getting more like Thamesport every day

User

If all drivers stuck together they may take notice of the parking toilet issues but it will never happen. Without us no port no profit we need a general strike in this country to make fat cats listen no trucks no goods we are treated like 3rd class citizens 27 years of driving i have only seen it go one way we must do something and soon rant over
