Home based childcare .. to me means just that. We are based at our home, our playroom is the heart of our home, open plan to our kitchen and living room and free flow to the garden. The children have a focussed activity each day based on a topic chosen by them. Each child has their own next steps to work towards. We have a music session and phonics session. We free play making our own choices. BUT being home based means... they see family life, children come in and out for s...chool, the washing gets down (the children can sort colours remember buttons to push and spot numbers) we peg out washing (counting pegs strengthening our pincer grip using the pegs). We help unpack the shopping categorizing bottles cans and talking about the colours of fresh fruit. All this while in the care of myself and lee alongside our 3 children. Home based childcare is amazingly rewarding for us and the children!

Just a little post about information on childcare .. I get a lot of parents asking if they can get help with childcare costs.. this website will give you all your option

I am personally a registered childminder and as childminders most of us are able to offer funding in the same way pre schools would. ... We follow the same curriculum and set next steps and track your childs progression. We work alongside pre schools/playschools to ensure this is done as a team :) Many 3 to 4 year olds are entitiled to the 30 hour funding now. This does not need to be used at one setting and can be split. So for example if a pre school is open 9 til 3 and you use them for 2 days but need one or 2 longer days a week you could use a childminder for these funding hours. Some childminders work with assistants which makes offering a few hours a day more likely. So please dont forget to contact childminders for your funded hours We also accept the 2 year funding Childminders also generally have a lower ratio with our under 5 ration remaining at 1 to 3 no matter what their age in that age group. After lots of inquires lately i have manged to secure an assistant to help with our busy days, I therefore have a full time space available from 8 til 5.30 5 days a week. Please feel free to get in touch if anyone is still requiring childcare who i may have already turned away
