Roasted Red Pepper and Tomato Soup 🥣 . Ingredients🍅 -2 Onions -6 Cloves of Garlic... -1 Tbsp Sugar -2 Tbsp Red Pepper Pesto -800g Can Peeled Tomatoes -2 Jars Roasted Red Peppers -400ml Veg Stock -Herbs to season . Method🍴 -Fry the onion off in a drizzle of olive oil for 8-10 minutes -Add the garlic, sugar and red pepper pesto. Cook for a further 1-2 minutes -Tip in the tinned tomatoes,along with the drained and chopped red peppers -Pour in vegetable stock and simmer for 10 minutes -Season then blend until smooth

Did you know today is National Spider-Man day?
As August 1 arrives, it’s important to remember one thing: with great power comes great responsibility. If you are a Spider-Man fan (what does this have to do with fitness? I`ll come to that in a bit) how will you celebrate one of the most iconic comic book superheroes of all time? Have a Spider-Man film marathon? Throw an impromptu themed party? Here is the fitness bit....... Have you heard of Parkour?
Ever wanted to leap and fl...y like Spider-Man? While swinging through New York City with a series of webs isn’t quite realistic, the growing trend of parkour can be done right here and now. A mix of gymnastics and dancing, building up your parkour skills means flipping, sliding, and jumping through the city just like Spidey.
There are plenty of ways to get fit and stay in shape and plenty of parks around for you to try your new you-tube inspired skills but if you want to learn how to do it without injuring yourself, get professional coaching and maybe you could be the next Spider-Man movie star.

Thinking of skipping your workout today or this week for what ever "reason" you use to justify it to yourself?
Here is a small list of valid reasons why you probably shouldn't,

Healthy food vs "non" healthy food.
Despite what you have been told what you eat isn't as important as how much you eat, yes there are obviously better food choices to make but the reason you are not losing weight/body fat is either the total amount you eat on a regular basis or the lesser amount of activity done on a regular basis.

Sending out a little bit of motivation on a Sunday to get you all ready for the week ahead. Lets do this 🏃‍♂️💪🚲

1 medium Pineapple, cut into 5 rings
85g Vegan or Regular Dark Chocolate
150g Vegan Fruit Yogurt
... Method 1. Secure each pineapple ring with an ice lolly stick so that the stick passes through the hole/circle.
2. Place the 5 pineapple rings onto a lined baking tray & freeze for at least 2 hours until hard.
3. Melt the vegan chocolate in a microwave safe bowl in 30 second blasts, stirring between each 30 seconds. Takes 2 x 30 seconds.
4. Take the frozen pineapple out of the freezer. Pour the melted chocolate over half but both sides of 3 of the pineapple rings. The chocolate will harden on contact & can be eaten 5 minutes after, once the frozen pineapple has softened a little.
5. Fully submerge the remaining two pineapple rings into the vegan fruit yogurt. Return to the lined baking sheet & refreeze until hardened. Remember to bring the pineapple pops out of the freezer 10 minutes before serving to soften the fruit a little.

4 Kiwis, peeled
18 Strawberries, stalks removed
85g Dark Vegan or Regular Chocolate
... Method 1. Slice the kiwis into 4 slices per kiwi. Thread slices of kiwis & strawberries alternatively onto 6 wooden skewers.
2. Place the skewers on a lined baking tray & freeze for at least 2 hours.
3. Melt the vegan chocolate in a microwave safe bowl, 30 seconds at a time, stirring between each 30 seconds. Takes 2 x 30 seconds.
4. Remove the fruit skewers from the freezer & drizzle the chocolate over both sides of each skewer. The chocolate will harden on contact so either serve after 5 minutes, to allow the fruit to soften a little, or store in the freezer remembering to bring them out 10 minutes before serving.

Hi, my name is Brian Howard and I’m a personal trainer who is excited to be working in Effective fitness Hessle.
Previously I’d served over 23 years in the British Army, and as a res...ult I’ve gained a lot of knowledge about training, nutrition and most importantly how to personally develop, coach and mentor the right mindset to succeed.
I’ve trained hundreds of clients ranging in ages from late teens to early eighties, with all achieving fantastic results. The majority of my clients experience substantial drops in bodyfat and everyone of them gain the knowledge to live healthier and happier lives. I know that anyone can benefit from good coaching and personal training, which is what I offer. Even though I come from a military background I never find the need to scream and shout and I prefer to use a calm and methodical approach, whilst building up your confidence in the gym which usually transfers to other aspects of your life.
I believe in moving well before moving more and I start every clients journey with a thorough posture and movement assessment. I tailor all exercise programs specifically to your abilities and goals! This approach allows you to progress in all areas of fitness whilst reducing the risks of injury. I always get positive results when it comes to correcting posture too, which can usually be noticed within the first 6 weeks of training.
I don’t prescribe any form of supplements before establishing a foundation of sound nutrition and I don’t give out fad diets to follow either. I do however have a selection of nutrition guides and based on your current lifestyle and goals, I’ll select the right one that will help you get the best results. The holistic approach I use should help you to make long lasting changes rather than it just being a short-term fix.

Started with John 5 weeks ago, one of my goals was to fit in a size 12 dress for a Xmas do and another to feel better about myself. Well I wore the dress and feel so much better, thanks to John and his professional approach, he has changed my mindset to exercise and food and I lost 8" overall. Started Fit in 5 mid Jan, I've never managed to keep up with an exercise plan before. The sessions are intensive but working in a group really keeps me motivated. Everyone is really friendly, we are all there working to achieve our own goals. I was chuffed to lose 8lbs and 9 inches in 5 weeks. John sets realistic targets and really helps you to achieve them. Yesterday was my weigh in and I’m super super happy to say that I hit my goals that were set.

2 kg was set and I lost 3 kg

4 inches were set to lose and I hit them 4 inches exactly !

John has coached my 14 year old son for over 6 months now. He plays Baseball for GB and therefore his body has very specific needs in certain areas. I started my first Fit in 5 in January after my wife recommended it. I wanted to lose weight and feel fit & strong. I really enjoyed the 2 workouts a week. They are tough but enjoyable, and adaptable to your own ability. The eating plan was easy to follow and I've really enjoyed my meals. I was really pleased with my results after the 5wks and lost over 1 stone and almost 6 inches! I feel happier, healthier and fitter again! A convenient location and a brilliant selection of both weight training and functional equipment. Effective Fitness has machines that you will struggle to find elsewhere.

Colleagues from work and I took John at Effective Fitness up on his offer of the Fit in 5 programme. Today was the last day, and I've dropped 12lbs and 8 inches, and feel a million times more physically healthy than when I started. They had their work cut out for them with me, after spending more than 2 years at a desk doing virtually no exercise, but the atmosphere is great; The exercises are tough (really tough), but the classes are delivered in a way that gets you to push your own boundaries, and the support with the eating plan and any questions is superb. John himself is a real professional, and incredibly personable, which really, really helps you get the best from yourself. Seriously highly recommended!

The workouts are well structured and John is there to guide and motivate you, he makes it challenging yet fun and leaves you wanting more, even after you think you have been pushed to your limits. After 5 weeks I had lost half a stone and seen considerable gains in strength and definition, but each person has their own goals and you really do get out of it what you put in.
