Industry feedback plus an invitation to play a Norwich show within 12 months from the date of the final as part of The Tilting Sky’s ‘60@60’ programme of events.
Once entries close we will, alongside Access Creative College, select a shortlist of 12 who will be divided up into 2 groups of 6 and perform at the live semi-final shows held at Epic Studios on the 27/03/19 & the 03/04/19.
Each semi-finalist will be required to perform 3 songs ( original compositions only ) with a maximum set length of 15 minutes.
The finalists will be announced on the night.
A panel made up of industry professionals and representatives from our sponsors will select 4 from each semi-final to go through to the final which will be held at Epic Studios on the 28/04/2019.

Entries are invited from independent musicians who write and perform their own material. There is no minimum age requirement. Musicians should reside within Norfolk for the duration of the competition. Applicants should not have any contractual ties to a 3rd party that would exclude them from entering RFTE.

Went to watch the England � - Croatia game last night and have to say its was fantastic. The screens were amazing, the bar was well staffed, well stocked and efficient. Getting in and out of the venue was effortless. The security were friendly and helpful. All in all the only downside was the result but I can’t blame epic for that! Top work all round guys and gals! �

We came to watch a sport/wrestling show. We had an absolutely marvellous time. The staff were great and the show was great. We would definitely go back.

The Epic Studios is a big diamond in heart of Norfolk this guys doing really well Really friendly always helpful ... ALWAYS �

The name "Epic" is not taken from nowhere just simply look on portfolio so many celebrities !so many brill party's organised by them ! To the point . Do I'll recommend them �? BIG YES YES YES YES ! ���

I have visited Epic Studios with friends and family many times and we all have loved every moment of it. The bands were great the bar staff were quick and friendly and always well organised, I will be coming back for sure.

I am a student aspiring to work in the creative media industries and thanks to the work experience at Epic Studios, I now have the skills fundamental for being employable! The venue is fantastic and the staff are all hard working and friendly. Will definitely be attending to events here again :)

Great place, only thing which could have been better is the spacing of chairs not enough room to get up and dance without a struggle, sister ended up with drink all over here coz chairs where so close together. But overall great show by boyzlife and great security

Excellent venue, and the management and staff can't do enough for you. Enjoyed some fantastic gigs with friends in a studio that has THE best lights, sound and view of the stage in Norwich!!

Epic is excellent for filming experience, I have helped to film the colleges student party there with my media class and they tutored you how to use the specific equipment fully. I have personally also done a lot of volunteering and paid work there, help filming boxing and wrestling. As I have the passion to go into this work and no where else would give me a chance, Epic did. A very good learning curve for people that want to become a cameraman or even we've had chance to direct in the Gallery.

Attended an event this weekend just gone, the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. High standard of professionalism within the staff and they ensured we were looked after!

Very cramped. Under staffed many people waiting over an hour to get a drink! Making you miss loads of the event each time you want a drink, never cleaned up anything so the floor was sticky and was like walking in a puddle all night. The mens urinals became blocked within the first hour of the event and were over flowing all over the toilet. Not best pleased.

This is close to being a 1 star. Went to support a mate who was boxing last night but the venue and staffing levels were a total joke. We sat at a "vip" table and was ment to have table service for drinks, however this was non existent on our table. Waited an hour for someone to come over, in the end we physically had to walk after the girl serving and basically walk her to our table 30 minutes later our drinks arrived with one missing so even got that wrong. Didn't order no more as would still be sitting waiting now, so left venue half way through the event. As for the gents toilets, absolute joke get dressed up in a suit to walk through an inch of piss all over the floor.. fuming total dump never set foot in it again.. the management/event organisers need to have a word with themselves.

I came to watch my friend and her partner box on Saturday night and myself and some friends had paid for a table which we were told had table service. After speaking to other people we had been told that they had been waiting up to 30minutes or more for someone to come and take their order. We thought going to the bar would be a lot easier - easier yes but not really quicker! Understaffed behind the bar for the amount of people in the venue (about 6 people working) and unfortunately they weren't the quickest to take orders from people and serve. It ruined our night and a lot of others because we assumed it would be care free and a very enjoyable evening. Men's toilets blocked and shut for 30 minutes so guys had to use ladies. Apparently showers not working which didn't help those who competed. Not the most professional at all. Doorman not the best equipped when a fight broke out outside of the ring. Not the quickest at getting to the scene and stopping it. Thankfully our friends fight made up for it but come on Epic you need to step it up for next time!!!!

Nice venue... absolutely shocking table service! Paid for VIP tables with table service, waited over an hour for each round of drinks, when they arrived on both occasions they were half missing orders. One waitress for around 30 tables. I was told that it was the same the previous year for the same event. Completely spoilt the charity evening 👎🏼

My autistic son has today been turned away from the studio despite he and his Grandfather having tickets to watch the wrestling. Currently having a meltdown about it as he thinks he has done something wrong. Hope your happy with yourselves you pricks

Most useless bar I have ever been to slow was understatement and had exact same problem 2 and half years ago when there! Can only presume the bar manager owns the pub next door as that's where half the crowd went to get a drink! Also the toilets are about 2foot deep in pi**

I think the way we were treated last night, as a band was disgusting, I won't be going out of my way to perform there again.

Soundcheck:

Absolutely appalled by the way we were treated from the moment we arrived. We didn't receive an adequate sound check, or even line check! We stepped on the stage to set up and where told from the moment we entered that "time is of the essence" after only 5 minutes on the stage we were told "well you won't have time to run through anything" and were made to feel like absolute mugs.

Pre-performance:

We were waiting side stage to get told to go on then when we gave up and asked, the sound guys said we needed to "crack on as you're two minutes in to your set time"

Performance:

After not being able to move from in front of the monitor because I couldn't hear myself I gestured the sound guys several times including an elongated tap of the monitor followed by pointing at my ear and huge arm motions.

I was pulled aside by audience members after asking if I could hear myself because my gestures were so fucking obvious !

The rest of my band also struggled to hear anything.

The night itself:

Luckily the other bands were absolutely phenomenal and I enjoyed every last second. But for somewhere I was looking to hire and would have happily paid £600-1000 just to have hired for their services just because I have always loved the stage, I expect as a performer to be treated with at least a reasonable amount of respect. Well done again to all of the bands who played and our boys from Fingers Crossed for putting up with that shit. But just because we opened for a band that does not make us dirt, fucking obismal.

Very disappointed.

I recently got 4 tickets for a live show, was really excited for it and so were the kids. Sorted out work to finish early on the day, raced home to pick up the others, drove over an hour into the city and got parked up. Got to the venue ON TIME, got in the queue, got even more excited.... then they send a guy out to tell us they're full!!! Was getting emails from the venue all week and not one said anything about limited seating. Got some nonsense excuse about it only being a free ticket, what a crock!!! Such a let down for what should have been a great night...

I came to watch my sister last night at the boxing. After weeks of looking forward to this event, as soon as I walked in, I felt like turning around and walking out again! The venue was clearly not big enough for the amount of tickets they had sold. The tables and bar area was poorly laid out which didn’t maximise the space they did have. The heat inside was unbearable and it was very dirty in the main room and toilets. It took us over an hour to get our first drinks and didn’t even bother to get a second because the queues had only gotten worse. Why they didn’t employ more staff for the event is beyond me. I definitely will not be going to another event here. Also the tickets had a big fuss about being a black tie event and to dress to impress, well I think turning up in a hoodie and jeans would have been too good for this place.
