I seek to provide a first class cleaning service, ran in a sustainable manner that reduces ecological harm and health risks. The Green Cleaning movement seeks to support a move away from potentially hazardous petroleum based products, towards natural, bio-based alternatives. As a green cleaner I am conscious of my energy and water use, striving to reduce wastage of either. I use concentrated versions of products where I can to reduce packaging waste.

I have a strong interest in ecology, conservation and environmental issues and am currently studying for an MSc in Environmental Management, I also hold a BSc Hons in Wildlife Conservation, a BTEC ND in Countryside Management and am certified in safe use of pesticides and COSHH trained. This ensures I have a full scientific understanding of the hazards of cleaning products, without subscribing to misinformation spread via greenwashing and scaremongering

I fully investigate the ingredient lists and environmental management systems of suppliers, sometimes contacting them directly if information is unclear. It is important that buyers challenge suppliers on their environmental credentials to keep green issues in business focus and to prevent the practice of deceiving consumers via greenwashing.

One of the basic remits of sustainable cleaning is "less is more" and I have dedicated much time to learning physical cleaning techniques that eliminate as far as possible the use for any products at all. However, all products, even "natural" ones have a life cycle, from manufacture through to disposal. From a sustainability standpoint, when tackling a severe build up of stubborn soiling, it is better to use a little bit of a harsher but more effective chemical rather than greater quantities of a less effective one.

When I do need to use a slightly harsher product I only use products that are biodegradable and I always follow the manufacturers instructions to avoid damage to your property or adverse health effects for you or myself.
