Did you know ... that before a child begins to learn how to read it is recommended that they develop their auditory skills first. This can be done in a number of ways. Singing nursery rhymes, exploring and distinguishing sounds in the environment, experimenting with pitch and tone using musical instruments etc. Below are sound boxes that also support the development of this skill. 😁

To all who don't know me I am a fully qualified teacher with lots of teaching experience. My main aim is to offer children 1:1 learning experiences in literacy and numeracy that are fun and engaging. I believe this approach builds a child's confidence in their abilities, which in turn encourages progress.
I will scaffold your child's early literacy and numeracy skills. I will fill gaps in knowledge for older children who may be falling behind. I will support you in your jour...ney if you have decided to home educate your child.

In just a few short months my 1:1 service has really taken off and I am now supporting a number of lovely children with their learning. It is the last week this week for arts and crafts (which has also been very popular) as we are taking a well deserved break. In September I will also be embarking on a new venture as I begin to support home educated children with their learning. One extremely reluctant reader today. (We all feel reluctant to do things sometimes.) Gave him control of his learning and we ended up sharing books on dinosaurs. Winners all round. 😁👍
