Good luck all Kempston students attempting their next grades from 6th to 3rd kyu today. Hope my trains are on time and I can get back in time to see you get your belts at the end :)

Thanks Kempston for working hard this Monday at my last class before working away next week and my operation on 11th February, looking forward to getting back to helping/assisting/teaching as soon as I can drive again. Please work hard for Sensei's Jo, Donna, Alex and Janine who wil be about in coming weeks. Also I have just re-copied part of Janine's message below to remind all of cashless classes starting next Monday 4th Feb - Firstly this is the LAST week we can take cash... for training fees as the cut off date is the 3rd February so please, please ensure you have moved over to one of the prepaid options as mentioned in class see here...https://m.facebook.com/story.php?s tory_fbid=1970709856564597&id=152470 0194498901
Secondly don't forget the upcoming 'not to be missed' seminars with Shihan Gavin Samin (Coventry in Feb) and Shihan Anthony Ryan (Raunds, 3rd March) and get yourself a spot booked!

Congratulations to all students competing at this Saturday's UK Nationals in Sheffield! Special mention to Ruth Wainwright (Gold kata) and Heather Cunliffe (pictured, bronze kumite) and also Susan Ginn, Jeff Udoh and myself for doing our best & coming "4th"......as the top 12-16 people from each division go thorugh to the Nationals it's still a good result to get there. Was also lovely to do a bit of reffing too, plus Sensei Jo was reffing all day right up to the end!! Hope to do as well next year

User

Great effort by all at Kempston last night, especially the lower grades who kept up with the higher grade grading format & young Arthur who's a white belt and copied bassai dai. Remember next week is Halloween themed karate, prize for best costume (that you can train in) though not compulsory, gi's are great too! Kata in the dark with glowsticks and sweets if you do the tasks first

User

Sensei Jo & I are looking forward to seeing everyone later :) remember if you qualified & have not entered the Nationals you have until 5th November - https://www.gkrkarate.com/tournaments/
