Update:)) cheeky little Rudolf has been up for a bit , he is still wobbly but he has muscle loss that's the prob at present, it will take time to build strength! he has had his bed changed and he helped me re do bedding .... pulling up the towel and knocking over stuff:) now he has a full belly and chewing the cud, gross but a good sign:) night, night all 🙂

Just a quick post to let you guys know that our shops will be back open on Wednesday next week. We all needed a little rest <3

Rudolf is far to busy eating to pose for pics today!! 18 pics only to have this as best one :0 his standing is wobbly but slight improvement from yesterday!!:) calcium and magnesium injections and banana a day all should help with muscle strength which is the problem after being starved of nutrition so long, his guts are great and he is munching for England:))) cross everything please:))

Rudolf is sleeping peacefully he has had his meds, some food and his beer :)) drugs list is a bit full on but let's hope it works:)) thank u for all the support and kind words 🙂 most people don't have a sheep in their bedroom but the bedside table looks like I had a very odd night!! Hahahaha

Rudolf Want's to say merry Christmas
he is trying his hardest !!:) He is very thin and weak but fighting while he wants to keep going, I will too!! He is drinking mostly on his own !! food is supported but he is eating enough to keep his guts active which is very important for a grazing animal!! Meds going in , all the supportive stuff going in too:) merry Christmas xx

Rudolf's temperature has peaked yet again:( every time he shows a little improvement he seems to get hit from another direction:(((
He has had a massive change of medication in the hope of him fighting this off !!!!!
He is hydrated and is eating , if I help!! He is tired and now fast asleep I hope dreaming peacefully.
... He HAS been treated for and is fighting the affects of so many different health problems:( Malnutrition /vitamin deficiency / Parasites. This has caused awful diarrhoea, he has massive weight loss, huge patches of dead dried skin from the mites:( On top of all this he has chest and gut Infection 😞
He is just less than a year, what a awful year that must of been:( Now we cross everything and wait:/ I will keep u informed! Thank you everyone for all the help and support!! Lyz x

Rudolf update
He just had a big drink on his own!!!!!:0

Ok it's 230 am rudolf is sleeping comfortably at present, he isnt eating on his own but if I post food in ,he eats!! He is so weak bless him!! Still able to stand for a bit on his own but I decide when it's time to lay down as once up he stands till he is sooo tired he falls, stubborn is the only thing keeping he live!! He Likes apples, lettus oatmeal carrots and the beer!! Tammy found an article on beer for sheep , its not likely to hurt at this point:)) he hates hydration fluids , probiotics and live yogurt !!:) I hope this little guy has the strength to pick up soon, as all the hours I have spent sat beside him I really would miss him now!! Fingers , arms, eyes and legs crossed for him !!!:)

4 years ago we had this Christmas miracle. Holly survived against all odds and is living with us at the sanctuary. This year we are hoping for another one. Hang in there Rudolph. <3

While rudolf can stand I will keep fighting!! He is so thin and weak but strong enough to tell me "to shove off with the fluids!! "He is fully grown but so small:( malnutrition from an early age is what the vet thought:(

Rudolf update Ok it's 3.30 am Saturday morning He's still with us! It's been a rough couple of hours! His guts are good , that's a massive improvement from Wednesday night!! Sadly he doesn't want to eat or drink on his own which is a huge concern:(( he can still hold his own weight up, so I'm going to continue fighting for him!! Im pushing fluids, he still has strength to fight me!! Pain relief,antibiotics, probiotics ,vitamin injections and parasite treatments all in:) his breathing/ heart rate is steady, he must turn the corner soon bless him, his little body can't hang on like this too much longer!! I keep telling him about the life he can have, stupid I know but he might understand the tone of my voice!! I try not to get too attached but.... well some of them get you!!! XLyz

It's Christmas!!!! Let's see some pics of our beautiful, cute , handsome and loved rescued fur family this Christmas. This is Grayham wishing us at Hallswood a merry Christmas! It take all of us to make the differences these animals need , Grayham was found at only 1/4 his body weight, he was starving to death, alone and scared. Someone cared, brought him to us, he spent months recovering and he now has an amazing home:) takes all of us!!! merry Christmas everyone:))

Small older dog , NO CHIP. No collar! ... It was running loose on Dereham rd, norwich ! It has very long claws and poor fur condition ( flea issue) It is safe and has been assessed by our vet. Please call the sanctuary if it's your dog. Proof of ownership will b required !! Thank you ! 07549991920

Rudolf is sleeping quietly and his temperature has settled!! I'm giving fluids hourly he has had loads of treatment now !! Just up to him, hopefully he can hold on!!:) XLyz

Wow! Thanks so much for coming out late tonight to rescue the swift. Feeding it minced beef by torch light, that's dedication. Hope it gets good and strong and back to the sky.

What a kind lady coming out to meet me at almost 10pm on a tuesday night to take in a little starling. So nice to meet you and what an inspiration you are caring for all animals in need.

Well, if you ask me we are more than just a charity shop. No matter what you are looking for, our staff is there to help you find it. Low prices, lovely stock. Simply the best? :)

This sanctuary operated on a pigeon I found in my garden pond. He had a broken pelvis and they cared for him until he was better.

The work you guys do is absolutely amazing! Wish there was more people like you in the world.

Thank you very much to Jill who came so promptly to pick up the fledgling pigeon we found on the baking hot pavement by the side of Earlham Road this afternoon. Unfortunately it's sibling had already died. We assume they had both fallen from the nest in the tree directly above. As there were no adult birds around and no safe place to leave it, we took it home. So reassuring to find that Hallswood would arrange to collect and take care of it. We weren't aware of this sanctuary, but have been reading up on them and are very impressed with the work they do. Now going to their Amazon wish list...

Thank you so so much for taking Hedgely (the hedgehog) in this evening, we were all so worried and really hope he will be on the mend and back to our gardens soon. No more watering can adventures though!

Thank you so much for coming out at 10pm! to rescue the little baby starling who had fallen from its nest. We know you will do all you can to help it recover and we hope it will survive.

Sooo glad I met Maria at the shop she has really helped me source things for my craft . But at the same time I have been lured in to helping with raising money for the sanctuary must be £500/600 over the year!! And I must just say it has been an absolute enjoyable pleasure, love it xxxxxx

Really lovely sanctuary. The owner was so helpful when I needed to find someone to take in a sick hedgehog as were the volunteers helping that night. Thank you :-)

My cat brought into the house a young bird and the guys here took it in. From what I saw while there they do fantastic work that I'm sure can't be easy. Thank you to everyone for your hard work caring for the animals.

Lyz and her helpers are so committed to helping wildlife. I will donate when i can and when i have a sort out in my home every 6 months it will all go to their charity shops. Thankyou Hallswood for all u do for the animals.

I've worked as a volunteer at hallswood and it's amazing, I visited the charity and they is friendly staff there to help you find things you need :)

Great team of people who work very hard at the sanctuary and in the two shops. Love to visit when I can and also I take some items to sell at work to help them raise funds. Keep up the great work.

Caring loving place for animals �

After hearing more about the sanctuary when dropping off a blind hedgehog, it sounded so amazing and everyone was so lovely that I immediately wanted to get more involved and help out. It's a fantastic place and everyone there works so hard to make a huge difference for these animals, taking in what other sanctuaries would refuse and giving them all a good life. I'm so impressed! �
