Stayed in Poles suite and cannot find fault with anything. The level of service from all members of staff was exemplary. Even with refurbishment work in progress so it was a bit confusing vet from one side of building to the other, the staff went out of their way to guide us to where we were heading. Hope to return for another visit soon.

User

I was treated to afternoon tea for Mother’s Day by my daughter. What a lovely experience. Very attentive and friendly staff. Lovely selection of finger sandwiches , cakes and scones. We had a great time and were really pleased to receive a voucher each for a complimentary afternoon tea which we will both look forward to.

User

Had a wonderful afternoon tea there yesterday (21st April) to celebrate a birthday and it was amazing! The staff were all so polite and friendly and the birthday girl even got a cake and sung to by the staff after our waitress realised it was her birthday!

User

Had a lovely time here for our 10th Wedding Anniversary

The spa is a very relaxing clean and welcoming

Our room was lovely again clean with a very comfy bed

The grill restaurant was so so nice great food great service for both lunch and dinner

We also has room service for breakfast and my full English and my husbands eggs royal was very tasty

The only issue was the cocktail bar closed by 8pm so when we wanted to relax with a few cocktails we were unable to had to walk to other end of the hotel to golf club for drinks but apart from that we had a fantastic anniversary the staff were friendly and welcoming we will most defiantly be back time and time again

User

Got married here yesterday (23rd March) and stayed for 2 nights! Absolutely amazing all staff were exceptional, nothing was too much and all were friendly helpful cheerful and polite no matter what! went above and beyond to make my day amazing and without hitches! Katie and Beatrice especially!

User

First time visit to Hanbury Manor for lunch in the Cast Iron Grill. Food was exquisite, service could not be beaten and the venue was stunning. On our way to second floor for lunch, lift doors opened to reveal a bride, her father and two bridesmaids - all looked so pretty and added to the charm of everything. The grounds were manicured and set off the building perfectly. Looking for another special occasion to celebrate there - absolutely loved it!!!

User

Fantastic setting, fantastic manor and fantastic staff. We had the afternoon tea with a glass of bubbles, and enjoyed every mouthful! Presentation was beautiful and the staff were friendly and attentive.

User

Afternoon tea purchased, in November, for my 70th Birthday back in December. Excellent service found the staff to be very courteous and attentive. My husband has to be Gluten free and he had a reasonable choice, his scones were excellent, I could be normal!, compliments to the chef. The amount provided was enough as we normally would not eat that amount mid afternoon. My only gripe would be the voucher, purchased in November gave me just over 5 months to book, considering Christmas and winter bugs, bad weather in between. Perhaps 12 months giving us a better choice of weather. Otherwise an enjoyable experience, Many Thankst

User

A fav place to stay when we need a change of scene or a rest up. Beautiful hotel and grounds.

The Rooms we have stayed in have always been perfect.

Helpful friendly staff.

Restaurant food is very good quality.

Lovely friendly atmosphere.

Very private and peaceful place to stay. Even on full hotel occupancy, it still remains relaxed and charming.

Highly recommend Hanbury Manor. XXXXX

User

The grounds are beautiful and staff very friendly. We stayed in a suite this weekend which whilst very large and comfortable it was a little tired looking but would not stop me returning..

Dinner on the first night was nice however my pasta was either overcooked or microwave reheated. Received a different bottle of wine that was not the one we ordered although very nice.

We were out from 9 until 4 on our first full day and returned to find the room had still not been serviced, this was sorted out after we spoke to reception but still returned to find the tea and coffee had not been replenished.

Turn down service was nice and they leave classic fm playing for when you return.

No breakfast menu left on second night for ordering to your room, had to ring and request it.

Overall a nice experience but not to the level you would expect from a 4/5 hotel..

User

Staff all genuinely helpful! Hotel rooms and facilities top quality and tastefully done keeping up with period decor: rich yet not ostentatious.

Spa facilities are clean and all adequate but can do with some refurbishment on the shower area for power shower option...and floor tiling perhaps.

Spoilt for choice for Spa treatments. Due to fully booked, was only able to try 2 treatments: facials and full body aromatherapy massage ! Rejuvenated!

Had to have a quick lunch after my run and before my massage, ordered their signature house Hamburger and how pleasantly impressed I was with the taste of a humble burger turned gourmets treat! The Guinness complement the enjoyment.

User

Estate has the wow factor and my stay was very good and the Golf course was very good too.

I did feel however the bedrooms were a little outdated and for a 5star did expect turn down service. The shower head was loose and lack of toiletries were poor but the bed was comfortable.

Some of the waiting staff were really good especially any Breakfast and were accommodating but on Friday I found most of the staff I came across quite sharp and at times snappy.

Golf shop staff however on Saturday greeted well by chap on crutches so felt valued.

Dinner served in the restaurant was really good however the wait between courses was rather long.

Overall I did enjoy my stay here and would return but it was the simple basics of customer service which left a little poor review from my stay .

User

Ate in the iron grill on Friday night - not much choice for us vegetarians. Ordered the kale broccoli and avocado salad with lemon and parsley dressing. When it came it was a pile of kale, 2 bits of broccoli and a sliver of avocado and no dressing whatsoever! I asked the waiter who assured me it had some on! I told him there wasn't any but I couldn't be bothered to argue so asked for "extra" - he bought over half a lemon !!

Room was fine and the Spa was lovely - spent a whole day there. Would go again.

User

We booked two nights to attend the Willow Senior Golf tournament. Our initial reaction to the hotel was, what a stunning building. However our room was not quite what we had expected, it was hot and stuffy with no air conditioning, it did however have an amazing view and overlooked the putting practice area. We walked the course following a friend who was playing and we were definitely glad to get to bed after such a long day. We had a great first nights' sleep and woke refreshed and ready to face the golf course once again. Unfortunately as I'm writing this review so late at night from my bed I am sure you will suspect that something is not quite right. Today a couple celebrated their nuptials here at the hotel and the party continues right below our room, in fact the disco could actually be in our room. Additionally it would appear that everyone is now celebrating outside on the lawn. We have closed our windows but everything continues to shake rattle and roll in the room. We certainly would not wish the wedding party to do anything else but celebrate the night away but had we been told about the wedding we would have stayed elsewhere.

We raised our concerns with the duty manager as we are leaving very early and face a 400 mile drive. To my astonishment he offered to send up a bottle of wine, my husband declined so he said we could have different drinks!! Does he know that we have drink drive limits? How would alcohol deaden the noise or indeed make the tv louder so that we could hear it? This response is irresponsible and not what I expect from a manager in such a prestigious establishment. Am I delighted to pay £179 for tonights room?? Certainly not. I am so irritated I am cancelling my next three Marriott bookings and will probably rearrange them with the Premiere Inn range of hotels. If I am to have little or no sleep I might as well pay a lot less for the privilege. Still, if the manager is to be believed I only have 51 minutes of ear rattling left before silence reigns.

Played golf (2 rounds) with an overnight stay for my friends birthday! The good bits were the evening meal it was cooked well, tasty and plentiful and check in and out was simple. The bad bits, the golf course was very busy ended up 5 and half hour round, with all the waiting, it is a course of 2 halves it does not flow well and the rough is ridiculous! The course is 7 miles long and with no buggies allowed, 2 days on trot is hard on the legs!

The hotel itself is very tired it really needs a makeover but the beds were comfortable. The drink prices are expensive to say the least 2 cocktails £30 I wouldn’t mind but they really were not even that good! And do not order a hot chocolate because no matter how many times you send it back, they just don’t get a hot chocolate needs to be hot!!

User

Had a lovely afternoon tea food was excellent and the staff just couldn’t do enough for you very attentive to our needs considering we had a very fussy eater will definitely be going again and recommending to friends n family we also had a 2 day spa stay and they was just the best thank you Hanbury manor

User

After pre - booking afternoon tea and telling them that it was my Mothers birthday a little disappointed that nothing special was done for her . The sandwiches had obviously been made earlier in the day as the bread had gone dry . Nice scones and cake selections however . A lot of money for what it was I thought having sampled many afternoon teas

User

A mixed experience, for our golf break away.

The Positives

- lovely golf course and in drier weather, it would be brilliant and very challenging.

- the evening food and waitress n the main dining room

The atmosphere and location

Not so good

- the service charge on everything on top of inflated prices anyway

- pro shop staff were pretty unfriendly and surly - not the sort of welcome we are used to from a golf club - the even declined to give us the codes for golf changing room doors so we could change - bizarre....

The overall cost of the break was reasonable - the hotel clearly try and extract as much further value as they can.

User

Disappointing. I booked a Junior Suite a few weeks prior to our arrival for our wedding anniversary celebration (informing the hotel it was a special occasion). Children staying with grandparents, spa, dinner reservations- perfect. Unfortunately we were placed in a hot stuffy suite overlooking a Wedding Reception. The live band played until midnight and it was impossible to get any sleep before then. Surely the rooms closest to the wedding reception should be used for the wedding guests, such bad planning shown. It was a Thursday night, and we had work the next day so did need to get some sleep. Also the only pillows in the room were very squashy and I had to request something firmer. I would've thought there would be a variety of pillows to choose from. The icing on the cake was a lightbulb blowing in the night and all the electricity/lights in the room being switched off. Honestly couldn't be bothered to call someone that late to rectify, especially since we had an early start. So we showered in the dark in the morning! Good points: spa, dinner, helpfulness of the staff, beautiful grounds, everything else was fine.
