Well how amazing is the food here. Lovely couple own this restaurant and work very hard.The food is outstanding. It isn't 'cheap' but is worth it the flavours are second to none.

We've eaten here many times in the past. Took some very fussy friends there as we,l as some from friends visiting from County Durham. To say they were impressed and very surprised would be an understatement..... Food was as good as any ultra trendy expensive West End restaurant

Men had n excellent red wine. Us women had the most amazing local (!!!!) white

Visited yesterday and had the A la carte menu. The service was attentive yet relaxed and the waitresses were very friendly too, which made us feel at ease! The food tasted absolutely stunning and was beautifully presented. The little treats given between courses was a great touch too. It was our first time eating here but won't be our last!

Visited here today for the first time..but it won't be the last..we loved it,in fact we loved everything about it...the food was superb...service fantastic..attention to detail perfection..highly recommended....we will be back and back again.....thank you for a lovely Sunday lunch

Top quality restaurant. The food is amazing, the menu inventive and the staff beautifully trained. It's a real gem of a place and perfect for special occasions. I agree with other reviews too - not at all pretentious but a lovely place. Definitely now my favourite restaurant!

This palace is a must go if you enjoy fine dining ,a fantastic experience with chefs tasters in between your courses,the staff are second to none,professional and friendly this is definitely on par if not better with londons best fine dining restaurants ,The building was part of a old stable block been converted about 4 years ago witch looks fresh yet still fits in with its surroundings it has a lovely friendly atmosphere with local are work on the walls it's situated in Epping next door to the Forest Gate Inn built from around the 17th century .

The staff are awesome, knowledgable and attentive. The quality and taste of the food is superb and the wine accompany with the taste menu is the only choice. We will be back. Thank you for a great night. Richard & Andy

The food was amazing, perfect portion size .Timing was spot on with great knowledgeable staff..locally sourced food and even had a epping based wine !!!

Our first time & wont be the last . Attentive , slick ,friendly service from young , knowledgable delightful staff . Started off with a perfectly chilled apple martini . Our tasting menu was simply outstanding , delicious & faultless . Loved the yummy & surprising Bouche Amuse throughout the evening . Atmosphere so relaxed . Bravo to the chef , the team & Amanda the owner .

My partner treated me to an anniversary meal here and I've got to say, I was so, so impressed. The staff were fantastic and so attentitive. The food from start to finish was just out of this world. Been to many Michelin star restaurants and I've got to say Haywards trumped most of them. Outstanding and such good value for money. Can't wait to return.

My 3rd time here on Wednesday evening from the service to the food 10/10. � Fine wines to go with the fine dining worth every penny thank you. Next up must try the lunch menu � by far the best place to eat in Essex!!

Much busier than last time, but goodness what a smart well organised operation.

Staff are very polite and exceptionally skilled at their role.

The menu is varied and lots of choices.

The food comes out beautifully prepared and presented. The flavours are superb.

I started with a delicious amuse bouche (or two) then a chicken ravioli in chicken consommé.

The main was two cuts of beef with shiitake mushrooms and delicious artichoke.

Dessert was a sensational apple crumble soufflé, with cinnamon ice cream.

Then some little petit fours.

Perfect meal well served (short appropriate breaks) and I can’t criticise any aspect.

Toilets exceptionally clean too.

Well worth the trip.

Katya and I had a super meal there yesterday. The best meal I’ve had in a very long time. Already planning our next visit. Thank you!

Absolutely loved everything, you are missing out if you don’t go

Went yesterday for dinner with my husband to celebrate our wedding anniversary.

Cocktails, service, food and atmosphere all excellent. Can't believe I've lived in the area for years and only just discovered this fabulous restaurant.

If I had one criticism it would be that the website is quite specific about dress code, which I like, but we noticed other diners were in t-shirts and very casual dress which isn't supposed to be acceptable. One male diner had almost his whole arse on show with too tight skinny jeans and too small a top on, not really what I wanted to look at while I was enjoying my amazing amuse bouche.

Either remove the dress code from the website or pick diners up if they don't adhere.

Despite arse-gate, I won't let this put me off, it's by far the best restaurant in the area.
