Jamie White (ex Hedingham Student) and the Headteacher at the same Skydive venue When John Panayi jumped out a plane over half term, he didn't expect to see an ex Hedingham School student about to do the same thing. It's a small world!

Our wonderful year 13 Biologists celebrated the end of their exams with a trip to Cambridge punting and then a visit to the Eagle pub where Watson and Crick announced that they’d discovered the structure of DNA.

District Athletics 2019
It was another successful day of sport for Hedingham School. On the girls’ team there were many noticeable performances. Jessica Seago, Rosie Dickason and Ferne Farmer were first across the finish line in their hurdles event with Lucie Wickham and Rae Claydon also gaining first place in 200m later in the day. We then saw Hedingham School girls consistently add to their points score across the age groups with many 2nd places. In the Year 7’s, Tarinabo F...enton Jones (100m), Isabelle Andrews (100m B), Kayleigh Seago (200m and Long Jump), Jessica Seago (high Jump), Amelie Hewlett (800m), Lizzie Webb (shot put) and the relay team of Tarinabo, Amelie, Jessica and Kayleigh. In Year 8/9’s, Ruby Parker (800m) and Ferne Farmer (High Jump) and in the Year 10’s, Skyla Page in Javelin and Eren Richardson in 800m. These top two placing were massively supported by many other excellent individual performances that lead to Year 7 girls winning their age group overall and Hedingham Girls team finishing 3rd overall in the district.

Our Years 7 and 8 girls football team enjoyed success on their home turf. As hosts, they took to the field with confidence against local rivals Ramsey. Captain Isabel Smith led by example claiming a hat trick, supported with goals from Lucie Wickham, Megan Petchey, Rosie Mowatt, in a 7-0 victory.
The next game was another convincing 4-0 victory against New Rickstones Academy with more goals from, Isabel Smith and Nola Parsons.
Hedingham School then took on Notley in the win...ner’s pool and narrowly missed out, losing 1-0. In their final game, it was back to winning ways with a 1-0 win against Helena Romanes School with Maria Norman on the scoresheet.
The girls finished in second place out of the nine teams that competed and really did play some lovely football. Lucy Le Comber with safe hands in goal meant the team only conceded one goal all tournament. Lucie Wickham and Tarinabo Fenton Jones strong in defence, driving the team forward. Rihanna Forster, Maria Norman, Rosie Mowatt and Isabelle Smith all working hard in midfield and the strong strike force of Nola Parsons and Megan Petchey upfront. Well done!

With the final maths exam fast approaching here are some useful tips for this weekends revision:
Here is a link to a checklist and preparation papers based on questions that have already come up in papers 1 and 2.
These revision checklists are based on the topics that either haven’t appeared or usually have a higher profile. As there are 3 papers, it is almost certain that topics from papers 1 & 2 may appear again, so definitely make sure you revise everything.
... The Preparation papers have a question on every topic, with the topics in Green/bold being topics from the Unseen Topic Checklists. Therefore these Preparation Papers are fantastic to help you practise not only the Unseen Topics, but also to recap everything.

Last week, Hedingham School students in Years 10 and 11 enjoyed a performance of 'Macbeth' by the visiting theatre group Box Clever. Students were highly engaged by the performance which included finely choreographed fight scenes and opportunities for audience participation. Afterwards, students participated in a workshop with the actors who also gave the students some valuable tips for memorising quotations before their GCSE Literature exams.
