Weā€™ve just returned home from a fantastic week with our 5 and 7 year old. We came here 2 years ago and wow what a difference. The entertainment was great, we enjoyed the Day Glo Puppets and Steve Zebbs. The kids loved the discos each night and I loved to play bingo, even better when I won the house!

We will def be coming back next year for Spring Bank Week again. Thank you to all the entertainments team, you all work very hard and are great xxxx

Just finished our holiday here after 1 week & I can honestly say we loved it ļæ½ļæ½

Me & my family have had so much fun and had plenty of laughs with the staff that we met.

For those who want to do something a little different in activities for yourself & the family that involves a small charge & well worth the small charge, we would highly recommend trying out body zorbs, water walking, archery and snorkelling & sea scooters as we had a blast with them all - a big thank you to the people running the events for showing us a good time & laughing with us! ļæ½

Had lots of fun in the swimming pool and a big thanks to the lifeguard Marco for helping my son with swimming ļæ½

The bar staff we met were polite, a good service and had a good sense of humour which we like ļæ½

The chalet was clean, tidy & had plenty of space for the 5 of us.

My son didnt wanted to leave and cried because he had so much fun!

I'll be honest I was dreading this holiday.... My friends had booked it and I wasn't keen on a caravan holiday. What can I say it was one of the best weeks I've had in a long time, clean safe and easy accessible especially for wheelchair users plenty of entertainment, good food and friendly staff... We are booked for two holidays at hemsby next year and we can't wait.

User

Have had a lovely week at hemsby beach holiday park. The park has a great new lay out and the new quarter deck show bar had a great evenings entertainment for all ages. The staff where all great and sorted out any problems small or big. Will be back later on in the year.

Thanks again for a great holiday and keep up the good work. X

Got back home from Hemsby Beach holiday park yesterday and I can say from the second me my partner and the dog got there until we left yesterday morning we loved it we love the new look we loved our fish and chips from Posh plaice on site we loved the quarterdeck restaurant the food was extremely nice could of had seconds. Now our caravan it was spacious it was comfortable cozy and the dog loved it too speaking of our dog she loved it she enjoyed her walks around the park and Hemsby too she has asked me and my partner if she can come back up next year to have more fun there

User

For anybody that knows me and my family, Hemsby is our place. Four generations have been coming here and we always have a fantastic time.

We stayed in one of the new silver plus caravans (we have always previously had a chalet) Excellent caravan with everything we needed for our short stay and bedding issue was instantly resolved by the staff on site.

I must say the upgrade has been very beneficial to the site, itā€™s certainly packed with stuff to do for everybody of all ages.

The restaurant was certainly very good value for money and the staff in there where fantastic. Everybody on site said hello to us which is certainly a very positive thing to see. All the staff actually looked like they wanted to be there.

The evening entertainment was also very good, I honestly donā€™t know how they keep so positive about it all. Keeping the children entertained through out.

I canā€™t recommend Richardsonā€™s enough, itā€™s certainly been our favourite for over 50 years.

See you all again soon

User

Absolutely fantastic ffrom entertaiment to food and acomadation the new restaurant and chip shop averagely priced nice sized portions all staff very welcoming and friendly entertainment fantasticas usual from a great team of 6 entertertainers nice to see a mixure of ages and seeing them gel soo well together acomodation we stayed in a daytonia small well fitted with eveything you need beds very comfy door to toilet door could of been a bit wider lol nothing could or did spoil our holiday only thing is we have to have to go home the weathear was beaitiful all week wwe shall be certainly booking again thank you hemsby and well done

User

We stayed in one of your rockland lodges last week and they are lovely and new campsite very nice but we have got a few complaints that we suffered,

We came back last week for my husbands 50th birtbday as we really liked the park from the year before and we had heard it had all been done up, but as we had booked the year before a week starting saturday to Saturday and we got the clear so we started our journey on the Saturday morning to be told we had already missed a day as they dont do saturday to Saturday and havent done for over 10 years only friday to friday. Well someone lying as i no i booked it friday to friday. They did manage to agree to swap us to a caravan for the extra night but this is after several visits and all receptionists saying they no nothing about it and havent got any spaces in the entire park wen i had checked on the websites and there was 10 plus caravans empty.

We also booked my 8 year old into 2 of the activities from the go active calender and paid for them to be told wen we arrived that she couldnt do them as there was only her booked on and they need more than one person so that left me with one very upset little girl . If you going to advertise activities then surely you should explain this wen people are booking or dont advertise them as its hard trying to explain this to children.

My last problem is with the swimming pool staff as we went in in the morning to check times i read it as closes at 5 last admission 4.30 so we went in with my 8 year old and 21 month old at 4.25 to be asked at 4.30 how long we had been in as there was no one pool side wen we went in i said we had been in 5 mins to be told we had only got 7 mins in pool as it shuts at 4.40 well thats not what it says on the sign the american lifeguard was very nice and understanding on our frustration its was the lad who sits at back of counter and wen we complained about it the next day and they asked who it was that had said we had got to get out i pointed out the lad for him to lie to me and say it wasnt him i dont forget a face not only lying to me but we never got a apology and yet again a upset girl yet again.

We stayed from 25th may to 28th may. We have been coming for the last 5 years and we shall definitely come again. We stayed in a gold caravan which was well equipped for our needs, and clean and tidy on arrival. Reception staff were attentive and helpful to our requests. Staff in general were polite and accommodating. The bar was a bit slow in the main entertainment centre but reasonable prices. Restaurant wasn't the best but will fill a hole. Onsite chip shop alright. New soft play and outdoor play areas nice. Updates to swimming pool good but floor very slippery in changing area as the water doesn't seem to run away anywhere. Evening entertainment was spot on while we were there. Ellie club could be more structured but the children enjoyed it. Overall the new site has impressed us.

User

We just came back from a week at Richardson's and we have all had a lovely time. The caravan was brand new and comfortable. All the bedding was good quality and the place was spotless. The campsite itself was well taken care of and the facilities were good. The evening entertainment was good and the kids had a lovely time joining in.

We would definitely come back as we often go to Norfolk for our holidays and because of this I'd like to comment on a few things that could probably be improved. We felt that there wasn't much provision for younger children. Ours are 2 & 5. The swimming pool wasn't really geared towards children at all. The evening entertainment aimed at children was late starting. The kids club which took place while the adults played bingo was a good idea but not suitable for children under 8 as they couldn't be left without an adult present. This meant we didn't get to play bingo at all and in practice ended up arriving at the bar late so we could avoid the kids disrupting others. Then several nights running the first activity was photos with the park mascots. This is really not something the kids could engage with night on night. We were also disappointed that there was no day time kids clubs. We've been to lots of Norfolk holiday parks now and all of them have activities during the day that are free to join in with. Photos with mascots are usually taken at the end of these sessions and parents are allowed to take their own, which we weren't. And lastly, the latte I ordered from the bar was really bad! I thought it was a one off so I took it back and asked them to re-do it but the 2nd one was the same. This really stopped us from getting refreshments on site during the day.

It sounds like we have lots of complaints but we did enjoy it and assume these are just teething problems really. We would love to see some adjustments made and if they were, we would be quite likely to come back later this year.

Thanks :)

Now I would have loved to have given you a big 5 star however I can't due to the chalets. The holiday itself was amazing and I enjoyed myself especially the night times with the entertainment wasn't really on camp during the day apart from Thursday, however it's defintely good value for money. But chalets defintely need updating as last night we had loads of ants running around our living room and that did rather creep me out- although as I say apart from the accommodation I have just come back from the best holiday! - if I was to return would be for one of your wonderful caravans because like I say the park itself defintely couldn't fault it, Staff are friendly and lovely, the entertainment is wonderful! And everything you need you do have on site so really you don't need to go anywhere fun for all the family!

User

Where do I start?

The caravans are lovely. We stayed in a 3 bed gold caravan.

But, the toilet is tiny.

There is no grip on the shower floor, Mum slipped in the shower twice.

There is no outside light making it difficult to see to unlock door at night.

The leisure centre is really smart and the swimming pool is lovely, when you are aloud to use it! I went over one day and asked the times the pool was open. I was told the pool was open 09:00 till 13:00 and 14:00 till 17:00. So I went over at 12:05 the next day to be told I wasn't aloud to swim because they don't let anyone in after 12. They said they like everyone out of the pool 12:45 so the pool can be shut at 13:00. I said I only wanted to swim for 30 minutes but was told as there was no one in the pool the shut down had begun! I guess the life guards wanted an extra long lunch break!!!

The restaurant looks very smart but only go over there if you like everything with chips! I have to admit I had a chicken pizza which was lovely though.

There is no shop on the complex which is fine for people who have cars or enjoy a bit of a walk but what about those who don't!

The ballroom is lousy and very poorly laid out. There are not enough seats for everyone, the staff were running around trying to seat people, which will only get worse when the other caravans arrive and when you sit at half the tables you can't see the stage. If you are lucky enough to get a good seat with a good view you can't see when people get up to dance anyway!

One of the activities, archery, that used to be free and was only offered once a week you now have to pay Ā£12 to do and is offered every day. And many of the other activities you have to pay for too making the holiday expensive especially if you have children that need to be entertained! Also they only let 12 people have a go each day so you would be lucky to get a go anyway when the camp is busy!

They used to play Hoy twice a day but now only play it once.

The flyer on the Bingo used to be played for big money but is now played for Ā£60 voucher off next holiday which is ok I suppose if you want to come back!

Next week there is only 26 guests booked in so the staff are not running many of the activities and are not going to do the Bingo, what are people going to be doing all day and evening?

My family have been coming here for years several times a year at that but unfortunately we will not be coming back. We will be going to Pakefield instead.

We had been really looking forward to this family holiday after a recent tough time. Although the caravans are brand new, we are disappointed with the quality. We had booked a gold plus (pet) caravan, the main bedroom was very small, we couldnā€™t get round one side of the bed. The storage in the whole caravan is very limited. There is only 1 toilet, and you canā€™t close the door when you need to sit on the toilet, this is intended for 8 people, we only have 4 adults and one teenager and a young boy. Plus a small dog. We were promised towels when we booked with hoseasons, patio furniture, no mop or hoover. Which we find particularly difficult when it is a pet caravan. Iā€™m sure they have done there best to get the site open for this weekend. We definitely wonā€™t come back. There was no point in voicing our concerns, as when we booked in, they said yo someone else we donā€™t have any spare accommodation. When booking in we were offered a Ā£20 voucher as they hadnā€™t finished things. The voucher is only any good for making a new booking. It should of been off food in the restaurant. I hope nobody is as disappointed as we are.

User

Still not finished. I stayed from the 2nd to the 9th of April. No baby changing facilities in the show bar Quarterdeck complex. And this wasn't rectified after complaining to reception. No real entertainment for kids under 5. Bingo is played until 7.45pm which is OK if you like Bingo. But what if you don't? Anyway we were off to have fun finding somewhere to change a baby so we didn't have the chance to play anyhow. If you want to go swimming at the pool, guess what, you have to change your baby on the cold sometimes dirty hard changing room floor. As... You guessed it no changing tables or just a change mat would have done. But no such luck. Again complained about this only for that not to be rectified. But however they did have time to put up a big screen TV in the show bar. So this just screems how important the priorities are.

User

Love it but entertainment needs to be better as people arrive from Tuesday it was brilliant but like me arrive on Friday night it was very poor tink and amelia were best on these nights so should get lot of praise hard work

User

Writing this on behalf of my mum and dad who have been coming to this site for 15 years and more, but not no more here is just a few complaints:-

1 lighting on the roadways very bad.

2 why is the cub not central to the camp, to far away for people with wheelchairs and over 70 years of age.

3 why nobody informed them that reception had moved and phone number had changed before arriving, not everyone had a computer.

4 swimming pool windows, they are open for everyone to look in, I was stopped 7 years ago from taking pictures of my grandchildren in the pool because of other children being in the pool that I did not know, but the way this is set up anyone can be taking pictures and nobody would no this.

5 entertainment was not up to standard, that's when there as any entertainment on.

6 cannot use swimming pool at all times because it's being used for other activities i.e.snorkelling, pool size not big enough for the amount of people expecting to stay during summer season.

7 the fish i got from the plaice was not cooked properly and made me violently ill.

I am sorry to say that my mum and dad will not be staying on this site no more and have decided to book there next year's holiday at belle aire.

User

Been coming here 7 years and definatly won't be coming back . Chalet was run down dirty and dirty sheets on the pull out bed ( someone had obviously wet the bed ) reception sent someone the next day and cleaners response was guests don't normally check the bottom of the mattress which leads me to believe they only clean where they think is seen . Bath panel was rotten , damp all along the windows , gap in the door when shut which left it freezing inside , no lock on toilet door and that's just the chalet .

There are no baby changing facilities at the show bar at all so had to change on the toilet floor or walk back to cold chalet so didn't bother going back that night . Put the kids in the Ellie club so could play bingo but that didn't work to well as by the time i signed them in they had already started bingo and we were one of the first in so that was a whole game paid for but could play when said about this the only response was is there no-one else that can mark your ticket . Baby's that made the slightest noise during bingo got a shhhh off the person calling the numbers .

Outside there were workmen working and cutting things which caused lots of dust which we didn't know about as see nothing about it when we booked on there website .

This used to be such a lovely place and very family orientated but now with a different attitude to guests and poor quality chalets that they have left to go to a mess while they still let them out , a very rude reaponse from a cleaner and no baby facilities I feel very disapointeed and did not get the break that was needed .

User

As someone who has stayed at this holiday park on 3 occasions this last stay was awful from start to finish.

My family and I had stayed over the Easter holidays Monday - Friday. Upon arrival we had no clue where to go, everything has changed and was in the process of being built. There we no signs. Once we got to the car park at reception we were stuck for approx 30 mins as cars were just dumped as there werenā€™t enough spaces.

Got into reception, roughly 5/6 families in front of me and one person working the front desk, whilst two other sat in a room out back. After waiting for what seemed like an eternity we made it to the front of the queue, received and envelope with keys and site info.

Looking forward to staying in the new bungalows we were confused when the map enclosed in the envelope showed us to a caravan. We then had to go back to reception to see if a mistake had been made but apparently not. I tried to explain my dismay as we specifically had paid more for the bungalow as it was our only holiday of the year, I didnā€™t want to stay in the caravan. I was told that I had no choice, the bungalows were not ready, so the manager that morning had decided to put us there. Feeling very upset I was told ā€œthe caravan should have been more expensive anywayā€ almost like they were doing me a favour. The general attitude of the people on the desk stank so I just grabbed my stuff and went back to the caravan.

Once we go in there it was lovely and clean. I canā€™t fault that. But every day of the week was woke by 7am by diggers driving past my window and workers in vans with radios blurting out music. It was like living in the middle of a building site!

The entire ā€˜holidayā€™ was spent finding every way we could to get out of there away from the mess and noise which was such a same as we had all enjoyed it so much previously. We never used any of the on site facilities as they were not big enough to cater for the people there during school holidays.

Upon returning home from the weeks holiday I emailed 2 separate times, once to hoseasons as that who I had booked with and once to the park directly. Being almost 3 months I have still yet to receive a reply which is why I have decided to come here to hopefully be heard.

Unfortunately I will not be attending this site again. It was a let down from start to finish, I would much rather spend my hard earned money on somewhere we will all enjoy.
