Wonderful food and relaxed atmosphere in an historic and elegant room alongside the Royal Theatre � It is great to have this level of fine dining in Northampton. The effort to make every mouthful delicious is evident, and the overall experience is extremely enjoyable. Not inexpensive but for that special occasion or just when you want to spoil yourself it is good value.

Went last night. The quality of the food and wine for the price you pay is unrivalled by any restaurant in Northampton. Service was excellent, food was better.

We were their first paying guests! Beautiful food combinations, presented in the most appetising way. The room is tastefully decorated and it was a relaxed dining experience.

We booked a table here after seeing a matinee show which gave us ample time to try the taster menu. We enjoyed everything, the ambiance, the service and most of all the food, we will definitely be visiting again. Thank you.

Visited on Friday, 7pm. We were very impressed! Setting is lovely, nice and bright, lovely decor (maybe lights could be lowered as the night goes on?). The food was very good, extremely well priced for the quality, although we thought the Trout main was a little small, would be perfect as part of a 5 course tasting menu. The amuse bouce was lovely, and the Parfait gorgeous, actually, everything was really, really tasty!

Service was friendly but you could tell the restaurant and staff we're very new, server knowledge and confidence will come over time. I liked that the menu was left on the table throughout the meal as it allowed you to remind yourself of the little bits on the plate that maybe you'd forgotten. I also, personally think that the cheese/ after dinner drink menu should be given or included, on the main menu; we didn't have to order dessert with the starter & main although I heard people do so, but when we came to order our dessert and commented at the lack of cheese, out came the cheese/ port menu! We ordered it all anyway!!

We will like to think we will revisit here quite often, menu changes every few weeks so hopefully will always be new items available and at £30 for 3 courses, it is well worth it. If I had to be a little negative, and maybe this makes me sound pretentious, but with such a lovely room setting, great menu and really nice little touches, the glassware could and should be better!!

This is what Northampton has been waiting for!

A stunning venue, beautiful furnished. The staff were confident and welcoming and really made you feel at home. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they were at hand when you needed​ something.

The menu changes fortnightly and all of it sounded delicious. The dishes were beautifully presented and delicious. Very reasonably priced a la carte 3 course menu. The chef deserves a Michelin star!

So pleased we don't need to travel to London for such lovely meals now there's an amazing new restaurant right on our doorstep.

Looking forward to returning with friends soon! �

One of Northampton’s best kept secrets. Private fine dining. Excellent cuisine presented to Michelin standard. Top class service and beautiful surrounds. Thank you all for a superb post theatre diner.

Northampton is a better place for hosting the hibiscus fine dining restaurant. My wife and I paid a visit before a show at the Derngate, and we were absolutely wowed by the quality of everything, the dining room, the maître d', but most of all, the food - which let's face it is the main reason for going. Sadly we didn't allow enough time before the show to enjoy what I'm sure would have been an exquisite dessert, but the starters, main course and the speciality bread (marmite bread!) beforehand were cooked and prepared to perfection. I quite honestly couldn't fault any aspect of it. It can't be described as a cheap dinner, but it was incredible value for money. Both my wife and I were very pleased we'd booked to eat here; I'm sure we'll make a return visit.

My wife and I enjoyed a a pre-ballet dinner here on 13th February and were very pleasantly surprised by the ambience of the dining room and the food served.

The room is well decorated and with a little jazz in the background was a joy to be in.

The waiting staff were very attentive and whilst clearly being new to the Hibiscss performed admirably.

We both chose the five course 'Taster Menu', each course was a delight with the Duck being the highlight for me, and washed it down with a very pleasant Prosecco.

We finished and settled the bill with a a very well planned ten minutes before the Curtain Up, so all in all it was a very pleasant trip.

Lovely meal and great value. 3 courses for £29.50. Nothing any one us didn't like. Would definitely recommend and go again. All the staff were very friendly and courteous. Not overly attentive like you can get in some restaurants - just right.

An absolutely delightful experience. I had the opportunity to visit Hibiscus last night and thoroughly enjoyed my visit. Lovely staff, excellent service and wonderful food. I had the taster menu which consisted of 6 courses all freashly prepared and made in the kitchen, which is open for customers to see. A great price for the evening. I will be visiting again soon.

Absolutely stunning food, lovely staff, gorgeous environment. Tasting Menu was a perfect recommendation for birthday celebration and perfect wine to accompany.

A really beautiful setting with equally amazing food to match. Portion size was good and I actually thought the value for money was good. The bill came to £89 which covered three courses for two people, two glasses of wine, mineral water and a coffee. It's not the sort of price at which you would eat there every week, but it is an absolute must for those special occasions. Service was brilliant and unobtrusive. We were actually the only ones dining on the night we went, but we didn't feel silly and the service was spot on.

How wonderful to have a great restaurant in Northampton. Went at the weekend and the food was fabulous. The staff were very good but it was obvious they were very inexperienced. That is the only reason I have marked it down by a star but would definitely go again

Good atmosphere and good food. Staff very attentive. We felt the tables were a bit too close to each other and the portions are a bit on the small side. Not the place to go if you're starving. Bigger portions would get 5*'s. Would still recommend though.
