Hummingbird Preschool

“Run, run, as fast as you can, you can’t catch me, I’m the Gingerbread Man!” We mixed our own colours, and used collage materials to decorate our Artwork.

Each January we make donation to a school in Battambang Province in Cambodia. This year, we sent some A4 whiteboards and pens and counters to Peak Snaeng Kindergarten. We hope this will help the children and teachers in their daily lessons and we thank Maria, Ian and the team for getting the resources there in one piece!

Who’s been eating my porridge? (And on a Friday as well!)

Welcome to 2019! This week we have been reading “Goldilocks and the 3 Bears.” We made our own porridge, and looking at some of the empty bowls, it must have tasted just right! 👧🏼🐻🐻🐻

Today we finished our term with a visit from Puppet Works. We listened to the stories of “Goldilocks and the 3 bears” and “The lost dragon.” We played games and had a visit from Father Christmas. We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

This week the children have helped decorate our Christmas Tree. They made paper chains and hung the different shaped baubles on the branches. It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas...!

Last week we coloured Pudsey pictures and decorated biscuits to discuss Children in Need. We thought about the people who help us and how we can help others.

Remember, Remember, the 5th of November... We have made firework paintings as well as practising pencil control. Did you see any fireworks this weekend? What colours could you see in the sky?

Today, Veronica and her hearing dog, Logan, visited Hummingbird. We learned how Logan signals to Veronica in an emergency, and were able to ask some questions about Logan’s life. Most importantly, Logan let us cuddle and gently stroke him! https://www.hearingdogs.org.uk/helping-de af-people/
