just had the most amazing meal here with my partner and our 2 sons. for the first time ever both of my boys cleared their plates! 1 had the burger and chips and the other 1 had pizza and chips. I had the big plate mixed grill (the steak was cooked just as I had requested) and it was delicious! my partner had the burger sizzler combo and he struggled to finish it! the staff were really nice and attentive. thank you!

have been here several times and can guarantee to get a good meal and value for money. Many thanks to Nathan the manager and the lovely waitresses who helped me with a tricky situation yesterday lunchtime. Be back soon.

Went to hungry horse and there was 4 of use had a fantastic mix grill very nice the rest of use also had a very good dinner very good deserts and very friendly staff

Went for a family dinner husband had half chicken i had scampi my son had child’s chicken my daughter fish fingers the food was fresh and tasted good a lot better then clock tower we all ate and drank for under 35 and that was the kids having brownies and ice cream.it would be perfect in summer as they have a nice park for kids to play on will for sure be going back staff was very polite and friendly

Well we'll be back regularly. Now had our third visit, all have been on a Friday at teatime, never any trouble getting an order in (tonight was tricky but parents bringing in armies of kids will always find a way of faffing around, regardless of others). Staff are rushed off their feet but always polite & we had no trouble waiting, knowing they needed to cater for halfterm families! Food was absolutely spot on, flawless & frankly, a total bargain! Proper flame grilled burgers for us both & £6.49 for two meals? Try getting that in a McDonalds & coming out feeling as full. We have managed to get the same table every time, away from noisy folk & we sat near a nice lady with her carer who were both enjoying their meals it seemed. You do a lovely job, food is properly cooked, presented & I swear you guys almost know we're coming cos we have had three visits, all experiences just as nice as one another. Thank you & don't take criticisms of fussy idiots who pay budget prices & expect The Savoy Grill!

We use Hungry horse often as a family excellent food, good value and lovely staff. This visit though we waited quite awhile for the food to arrive :( not a complaint as we'd rather the food is hot and cooked properly. We will be back soon.. �

Great food, great staff and great atmosphere

17.9.17 Went there last night with my daughter for my belated birthday meal. Found a table straight away. Told meal would be about 25 mins. Was OK with that and meal was served within 25 mins. Enjoyed my meal. Daughter had the lasagne but it was mainly pasta and cheese not much meat in it which was a let down for her. Otherwise enjoyed.

We had to wait a long time but the food was fresh, hot, tasty � & definitely worth the money!



I will return as the menu we had was for the over 60's. Which was 2 courses for £4.49 slightly smaller portions but believe me it is an adequate sized meal.

I won the facebook competition for £30 voucher so treated my family to a meal here on my daughters birthday food was lovely and we were treated lovely, great service only reason why i'm not giving 5 stars is because of the other customers were swearing and shouting at their kids when my kids were present that was the only thing that annoyed me other than that very good, will recommend and come back soon

I booked for 14 last night for my mums birthday , staff were very nice & friendly , meals were all served very quickly on time reasonable priced , i will say i asked for well done steak but when it came it was under cooked so i took it back and the staff apoligised and soon sorted it , i would defiantly recommend this place and i also would go again x

I went yesterday evening with my boyfriend and sister after finding a table we went to the bar to place order after standing there 10mins and seeing at least 4 staff members pass us not even acknowledge us even after eye contact and asking to be served we decided to leave. Poor service or in this case no service.

Got in there at 11.58pm so decided on a early lunch seemed like forever to arrive and I upgraded to a sirloin and was tough and fatty for a rare piece so disappointed with that, hubby said his curry was ok so no other complaints apart from the steak, nice pub atmosphere and decor.

Will stick to fieldfare that's more of a restaurant. Hungry horse is more of a local pub not want to here drunken blokes when having a quiet meal .

We went to the Shoe Makers last night on the way back from pleasure wood hills. When we ordered we were told there was a 25 minute wait which we didn't mind as it was starting to get busy BUT we waited 50 minutes and twice had to go and ask where our meals were. When we eventually got our food we had no cutlery so waited another 10 minutes for that, our fish and chips were over cooked, and we thad a teaspoon of peas with it. The manager said that 1 of the chefs had phoned in sick but sorry this is not the customers problem and no excuse. This was our 3rd visit to the Shoe Makers but I really don't think I want to go back after that episode...

Terrible customer service, the waiter practically threw our food at us. We were also told to hurry up and order quickly. The food wasn't very tasty and the waiter was rude again when he checked on us. Please don't go here!

Oh dear someone was having problems tonight , I can’t review the food as we didn’t get any. Absolutely shocking how little we were valued as customers, you simply didn’t care. Shame on you Hungry Horse , not that you care but we won’t be back

Just left the shoemakers after a meal with my family tonight was absolutely terrible my chicken skewers came out raw and all the manager could say is it’s a problem across the board ! Well that’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard surly the kitchen should be checking every bit of food is cooked before serving it to the public ?? Was offered something else but declined, excepted the refund,the rest of the group ordered desserts one being the jam roll poly which was all burnt on the outside and dry in the middle and the chocolate fudge cake was so dry even tho it was covered in hot chocolate sauce, both were just left as we had had enough by then, table was sticky wen we first sat down I asked for it to be cleaned 10 mins later still wasn’t done so I used baby wipes floors had seen more food than me tonight safe to say we won’t be returning to this hungry horse again....
