Impact Youth Work

Impact Youth Work in Dorset.

Impact's first approach to youth outreach was street based 'detached' work, engaging with young people as they socialise at weekends, befriending and supporting them. This work has since been complimented by the opening of the Steam Cafe, providing a safe place for young people to meet. Finally, 2011 saw the introduction of the Bike Project and Unique, schools based projects that teach young men and women bicycle repair skills and health and beauty techniques respectively. This gives the Impact team the opportunity to teach skills that the participants can take beyond the school life, and also build their self-esteem and confidence.
