On Sunday 25, Billy Neill Playing Fields hosted another successful Irish FA Foundation U18 Development Day. League of Ireland side Derry City joined academy teams from Carrick Rangers, Dungannon Swifts and Cliftonville for a series of games designed to allow young players to express themselves on the pitch and to develop their games.

The Ballymena Back in The Game festival took place last Saturday. Ian Getty, who formed the Ballymena BITG group just over a year ago said, "I never thought it would take off like it has. Every Tuesday from 5-8pm almost 40 players in their 30s, 40s, 50s and even 60s take part." Players also also got an opportunity to find out about wider health issues, receiving advice on issues such as prostate cancer, alcohol consumption and depression.

Another brilliant well organised Premiership Development Day by the Irish FA Foundation Youth Development Co-ordinators. Well done to all four teams, Glentoran, Linfield, Cliftonville and Crusaders who played at the first ever Premiership Development Day for Under 17 girls at Greenmount College.

What a fantastic day at the McDonald's National Small-Sided Games Festival at Mallusk. 1500 children enjoyed playing 7 a-side and 9 a- side. I massive thanks to all the staff and voluneers who worked to ensure it was a fun and safe day.

Great to see the Glebe Galacticos side in the National Football Stadium with Joe Doherty yesterday. The boys enjoyed a tour of the stadium and are looking forward to the national Back in The Game festival at Lurgan Town FC on Sunday 25 June.

Great to see Michael O’Neil after training at the National Football Stadium on Thursday. Michael’s a big supporter of the McDonald’s Community Awards and is delighted that the Northern Ireland team’s Dare to Dream coach is to be used to take award winners and key volunteers to the Guildhall, Derry/Londonderry on 23rd November for this year’s ceremony. Michael was McDonald’s guest of honour at Belfast City Hall in 2016 and is already looking forward to attending again this year. He was joined after Thursday’s training session by Irish FA Foundation Volunteer Development Policy Officer Michael Carvill, who’s organising the Volunteer Express Dare to Dream coach on the night.

My son goes to the camp when ever they on! He loves every minute of it, the coaches are fantastic and they are teaching the kids the right way to play football!

The experience is brilliant for their development in football and in general. They learn that respect is an essential quality and this can be seen when they are on the pitch!
