we enjoyed an awesome carbonara and sea food Linguine at our first dinner date eating at Jamie's Italian tonight, excellent staff and service, yes a bit more than what we are used to paying but so worth it! And the Brownie Gelato dessert and coffee was the perfect end!

User

Well after reading all the negative reviews I have to say our experience was different and we had a very pleasant evening. Good food and the service was efficient and waiters were cheerful, happy and helpful. Would definitely go back again soon.

Lovely Porchetta for Sunday lunch, beautiful roast potatoes and roasted vegetables. My wife enjoyed her burger - although she asked for it well done (due to her having chemotherapy at the moment, and having to follow a neutropenic diet) and it still had a tinge if pink to it. Waiter was amazingly attentive, and nothing was too much trouble for him!

It was busy when we turned up..but the service and the food were fab. Keep it up. my friend and I had the set menu. Great choice. We were there 20th August 18. For lunch.

As a family we're usually drawn towards Jamie's as it has a great friendly atmosphere, clean restaurant and keen helpful staff. We visited on good Friday without booking, the food seemed to be better than ever! lasagne, kids pizzas, polenta and sweet potato chips, all tasted incredible and piping hot. Really impressive and will be keen to rush back. Thumbs up from us. Oh, plus kids mains are free with every paying adult meal.

We adore Jamie’s and go every time we visit Norwich. This time we were late for our pre booked table because of traffic, but the restaurant kept our booking for us. We were shown to a table and our drinks and food came quickly with excellent service throughout. The only reason why this does not have five stars:

No dedicated allergy menu (e.g. gluten free options, but the server was excellent in explaining from the main menu)

The wait to pay. We got the bill and had to wait around 30 minutes to pay, we did wonder if they wanted our money!

Will always return as this is one of our favourite places in Norwich. Thank you!!

First off I like Jamie’s a lot. The foods good, the staff friendly, it’s child friendly and the gold card perks are a nice touch. I eat there regularly and the 4* represents my overall experience. However today it was a disappointment.

We were seated upstairs and stayed for an hour and forty minutes. In that time 6 tables full of people were sat by the windows with approximately 20 people seated. The first thing they did was open the windows to let in a cool breeze to cool down the rather sticky heat of the restaurant. All of them were told to close the windows as it stops the air con from working.

I would put it to you that if 20 people in such a short time are trying to cool down then your air con isn’t good enough. I did note that as I left I walked downstairs and I was engulfed by a lovely envelope of cool air that everyone downstairs would have enjoyed for their meal.

My advice would be to either improve your air con or shut the upstairs section on hot days. To people visiting I would advise them to stay downstairs or go elsewhere.

First day of the new menu when we came in for the first time yesterday. The food was tasty and our waitress was really friendly.

It was the best chocolate brownie I've ever eaten, and I loved the teapot I've drpped a mark as it would be nice to have a small slice of garlic bread with some of the pasta mains.

User

Very disappointing! Jamie’s has always been good. My roast was cold, all taken away and new came back piping hot about 20 mins later. At the end of the meal we were offered a free dessert, which we didn’t want, or a free drink, which we didn’t want either, so we ended up paying the full whack... not good customer service. We should have caused more fuss!

User

It took a while (understandable- was busy!) but it was only pasta dishes? I ordered vegetarian carbonara and it really wasn’t what I was expecting... thought it would have been more creamier and the pasta with sauce was tasteless. Portion size was really small too. Definitely not somewhere I would voluntarily go again... 🙁

User

Disappointed meal was ok had small prawn linguine kale salad with shared garlic bread. Had to wait a long time for order to be taken. Waiter very friendly until we asked him to take service charge off the bill then he seemed to become very unfriendly and elusive took along time to pay. Not a good experience don’t think I will be returning

We went to Jamie's (Norwich) on Friday for a meal after work. There were 6 of us girls and I felt the food wasn't up to standard. The menu had just changed from what was on the website. Most of us had pre-decided what we would have. However, I couldn't get the pizza I wanted as it wasn't on the menu so the waiter helped me to make my own but that worked out at about £15 which I thought was a lot for a pizza and I really didn't enjoy it. It was the 4 cheeses with chicken & mushroom added as extra toppings. It was very twangy and I left half of it. The garlic bread we ordered was described as flat bread but it was more like ciabatta and very thick with not a lot of cheese. The waiter was very entertaining and friendly until we decided we didn't want to be forced into the 12.5% service charge - that should be a customer's choice what they want to pay so we got the bill adjusted and left him a tip that we put together in cash.I'd heard some good things about Jamie's beforehand but I have to say I was very disappointed and won't rush to go back! Especially as mine came to £21 in total. The only thing I really enjoyed was the cappucino! I didn't say anything at the time as I didn't want to make a fuss and spoil the evening for the other girls.

User

Very disappointed to receive an offer on the app for £10 off any meal over £30 Monday-Thursday in February, only to be told that it doesn't apply on Valentines Day. There was nothing in the terms and conditions about this, the place was full of families with small children having half term lunches (and not giving a stuff about Valentines Day) and the poor serving staff looked sick of having to fight the case. The food was passable but portions seem to be getting smaller. The financial problems facing the chain are starting to show. I'm afraid I won't be going back.

User

Unfortunately the wait time to even get a drink order placed when we arrived was far too long - 20 minutes then the beer was the wrong one! , we were then left for a further 20 minutes to place the order for food, even though we were ready to order.

Food arrived quite quickly and to be honest it tasted as if it had been reheated in a microwave, the quality was poor and no flavours at all.

We then finished and waited for the table to be cleared 15 minutes after finishing.

Asked for a desert menu as still both hungry, a wait for that once again, nothing caught my eye for deserts and I felt overpriced for the options. My four year old wanted some ice cream so we waited for that to arrive.

I ordered a coffee.

Daughter finished her ice cream and still no coffee. Finally caught the waiters attention and explained I wanted to cancel the coffee and get the bill. 20 minutes later we were leaving. This was a birthday treat for my husband and to be honest it was an appalling experience. The waiter kept apologising for the delays but that isn’t good enough. The bill was calculated wrong so had to make two separate payments very unprofessional.

I will not be returning.

User

Shocking! Ordered the tagliatelle bolognese same as my mother in law, only difference mine being gluten free. When they came mine was smaller than my daughters child portion and my mother in law had more than twice the amount. Not only that the pasta was not cooked properly. After trying to get the waitresses attention, she finally came over to see how our meals were once everyone else was nearly finished to be told ‘we can cook you another portion’. I declined as the rest of the party would have finished by the time a new meal came out. This is such a let down from previous visits. Will not recommended and will not be visiting again
