About Jazmin Warden Acupuncture

A qualified, friendly and affordable practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine, specialising in acupuncture, acupressure, auricular therapy, cupping, Gua Sha and moxibustion.

Jazmin Warden Acupuncture Description

Hi there, I'm Jazmin and I live in Hessle, just outside of Hull. I studied Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) at the Northern College of Acupuncture, qualifying in 2011. I'm also a member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC). I enjoy cooking, reading, walking and spending time with my daughter.

Helping people to get the most out of their body and mind is very important to me, and TCM is an excellent means of achieving this. Below you'll find descriptions and prices for each therapy type. If you require further information before booking a session, get in touch on 07738 906010. Please note that I may be in a session when you call, in which case simply leave a message with your name and phone number and I'll get back to you as soon as possible. Alternatively, you can email me at jazminsmelt@gmail.com

Thank you.

---------- ---------- --------

Traditional Chinese Medicine has been practiced for thousands of years and is currently used alongside biomedicine in hospitals in China. TCM includes a variety of therapies, herbal medicine and nutritional advice.

Rather than addressing separate symptoms, your whole body is taken into consideration, allowing a holistic and individual diagnosis. This in turn allows a personalised treatment to be created for you.

---------- ---------- --------

---------- ---------- --------

ACUPUNCTURE

Fine needles are inserted into various points around the body. This affects the body's energy and blood flow, encouraging it to return to homeostasis (a stable equilibrium). The needles are left in for between 10 and 20 minutes to create the desired effect, also giving the patient time to relax.

Common ailments I treat with acupuncture are IBS, headaches, sleep disturbances, ME, fertility issues, menstrual problems and muscular /skeletal issues.

---------- ---------- --------

ACUPRESSURE

This is similar to acupuncture, only instead of inserting needles I apply pressure with my hands. Although acupuncture is more effective, acupressure is great for anyone with a fear of needles to ease into the treatment.

---------- ---------- --------

AURICULAR THERAPY

Acupuncture of the ear, where extremely fine needles are used.

This is generally used for side effects caused by chemotherapy, addictions, detox and quitting smoking, but can also be used alongside general acupuncture.

Ear seeds are often used as well. These are tiny balls that are stuck onto the point that doesn't pierce the skin, enabling the patient to continue the treatment at home.

---------- ---------- --------

CUPPING

Plastic or glass suction cups are used on larger muscle groups, usually the back, to increase Qi (the circulating life force) and blood flow to the area. This increased flow releases trapped muscles and expels toxins.

Typically used for tight or achy muscles, muscular back problems and trapped mucus on the chest.

---------- ---------- --------

GUA SHA

The therapeutic effect of Gua Sha is similar to that of cupping; however, the method differs. The skin of large muscle groups, such as the back, is rubbed with a flat instrument. Each patient has their own preference between cupping and Gua Sha.

---------- ---------- --------

MOXIBUSTION

A herb that can be used with or without acupuncture, burned close to the skin. This is typically used for very cold or "deficient" people.
