We are an impartial scientific authority on UK and international nature conservation. We advise Governments and work in partnership with business and society.

JNCC is a public body with a statutory remit to advise the UK Government and devolved administrations on UK-wide and international nature conservation. Our role includes the UK’s marine waters and its Overseas Territories and Crown Dependencies. We bring together the country nature conservation bodies in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. We are the only UK government environmental body with a UK-wide remit.
