James Wright is the fourth generation stonemason in his family with his Great Grandfather starting the original J. Wright and Son Stonemasons on the corner of Suffolk Road in Ipswich in the late 1800's. After the shop suffered bomb damage in the War the family moved to Cemetery Road Ipswich where the shop and name still stands today although no longer owned by the Wright family. The family business was sadly sold in the late 1980's and James' Father started working for the co-op masonry department where James joined him in 1993. In November 2008 the co-op decided to close the Ipswich masonry department and contract the work out to another company in Norfolk. With Stonemasonry running through his veins and now over 20 years experience James started J. Wright Stonemasons in February 2009 and we have been running a successful family business ever since.
