Just home from our visit to Rum, the tea shop was a welcome sight after a long day of walking. Kim who made our meal for the night knocked it out the park, it was just what we needed. The home cooked 3 course meal was fab and so was the chef. Definitely get booked in for dinner if you can, or at the very least drop in for a cup of tea and some friendly welcoming chat from the staff.

Couldn’t recommend this place more highly.

After arriving at the cafe to realise that the shop was shut (it’s closed on the mornings when the Calmac ferry doesn’t run), we had few supplies to take up the Cuillin mountains.

Kim made sure we had breakfast (bacon rolls), sandwiches and cake for packed lunch and promised to cook us supper when we got back.

Even after a relatively late return, she went beyond the call of duty and we were treated to the best venison I’ve ever tasted.

We also loved the company, partly helped by Ross’s birthday drinks!!!

It’s a stunning location run by top people and we shall return. I’ll even threaten to bring the kids along!

Best wishes and many thanks for a great experience of a magical island.

As with the rest of the island, the isle of Rum tea shop has a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. If you want breakfast, lunch or just a bite to eat and a cup of tea, the cafe in the village hall is the perfect place to go. I visit regularly and find the toasted baguettes a tasty stable. If you see your favourite soup as 'soup of the day', you're sure to enjoy! Great staff!

As the Isle of Rum Ranger, I often eat in the teashop. The soup is highly recommended. This season, Kim will be doing chips and baked tatties as well as soup and sandwiches. My Ranger Station is in the Hall too, so I'm looking forward to the lovely smells that will surround me this summer. :)
