Was recommended to visit here with my daughter. Wow what wonderful food, lovely atmosphere and the new manager Chris couldn't do enough to make our evening special.



Will visit again when I am in the area.

The staff are very welcoming and are really aware of allergies/intolerances, asking us about dietary requirements before we ordered our food.

The food is perfect! I ordered the partridge (having never eaten it before) it was ridiculously delicious 😊

And the toffee pudding with salted caramel ice cream and popcorn is officially my new favourite dessert!



Will definitely go again next time we visit the area!

The Monk fish, samphire and Goan curry was out of this world as was my Slingsby gin with Mediterranean tonic, pink grapefruit and blueberries. Friendly good service and reasonably priced for such a high standard of food. We will definitely be back

Stylish warm and friendly. Great choice on menu. Very tasty steaks and muscles. Nothing too much trouble. Gave us bottle prosecco as birthday treat. So kind and real surprise! Desert we chose was creme bruleè which had the largest crunchy top ever. Delicious!I

Really great setting, the restaurant has just the right mix of modern and authentic old english character. The food was superb, the service spot-on and we can absolutely recommend the Cod and the Lamb Rump and Rhubarb Arctic Roll for desert is to die for! Finally the Espresso Martini has become my new favourite cocktail. A really great night. Thanks guys!!

I took my son and his girlfriend for lunch today, without a doubt the food is the best, we had two pork and one chicken roast, the service is excellent and the manager is exceptional, thank you all so much for a lovely meal and service, you will be seeing a lot more of us.

Hubby said they were the best mussels he has ever had. Since we live in Cornwall, home of amazing seafood, they must have been good.

Had a brilliant evening last night with fabulous food and very attentive staff. Would highly recommend.

Great landlord! Lovely food - served fresh warm and quickly! What's not to like?



Had the vegetarian menu and it was perfectly cooked and presented beautifully.



It helped the landlord was Neapolitan and I'd lived in Italy for a few years but I think the welcome is as warm whoever you are.



I found the Greyhound superior to it's larger neighbour the Swan and I recommend you try it!!!!

Celebrated our Wedding Anniversary today with lunch at Lavenham Greyhound.....we were not disappointed, absolutely delicious we both had the roasts (Beef & Lamb) followed by the yummy deserts......The service was super well done especially to the young man & lady who were our servers. Thank you for the complimentary Prosecco too will definitely be returning soon!

Lovely meal as always, we always love coming, it’s such a treat for us.

This time though we were slightly disappointed as there was a lot that wasn’t available on the menu and the desserts weren’t up to their usual standard.

My husband had creme brûlée which didn’t have a hard top and instead of the description of Walnut rocky road he had coco pops and walnuts and no popping candy.

I had the Hot chocolate tart, the filling was delicious but I couldn’t break through the pastry.

I’m not complaining as we’ve been a number of times before with no problems but just wanted to point it out.

Good food and all eight of us enjoyed the lunch. The desserts were super and very generous portions. Would go again when next visiting Lavenham.

We had a late lunch yesterday after a trip to the farm with our twins. It was their 4th Birthday and the manager promised a special birthday treat if they finished all their food, which they did. Nothing materialised and the twins kept asking where their birthday treat was. They were understandably upset when we left without.

The meal lovely and service was great initially but as soon as a few other people entered, the staff just seem to lose interest in us. Very disappointing.

Christmas lunch. Very nice location with a nice atmosphere. Food was ok but would have expected a bit more for what we paid for.



When you are in the back cloce to the doors that van be opened... ensure you will keep you coat on.... too cold and a serious draft.



We ordered at the end a tea and coffee but after 20 minute waiting we asked fot the check instead .... the same as 2 other tables did....We could clearly see they did struggle with their organization that day.



Food is the complete picture.... this one needs to be improved.

We went there Saturday evening with my parents and unfortunately I can't say we were impressed. The new decor is lovely, really character however the overall service wasn't acceptable. We were sat down at our table, ordered our meals and asked for bread and olives as an interim. The bread and olives came out (albeit at different times), which we ate and then waited for the main course....this came about an hour and a half after we ordered!! My mum had a brioche bun, which was burnt on the top and bottom (they were upside down so maybe they thought we wouldn't notice). We sent it back and a 'replacement' came out within 5 minutes. The bun was okay but the "topping" was clearly from the original serving and was now warm and not hot! No we did not send it back again as had been waiting long enough to eat. When later asked if everything was okay we said no and was then asked (in a surprised manor) why not? We reminded them of the burnt food, let them know the 2nd servicing was warm as we're one of the other meals and the hour+ long wait was not good. An apology followed and she left (probably feeling very awkward). The service was just so slow, staff seemed confused and often standing chatting, clearly not aware their customers had been waiting so long for their food! We were given money off of the bill as 'compensation' which whilst being a nice gesture we would have actually expected it to be honest. We would rather have paid full price and had a nice meal, in an acceptable time. We will NOT be going back or recommending it (if anything it will be the opposite) and I'm sure you would rather be getting recommendations then paying compensation out.

We had lunch yesterday at your place.

Sat outdoor in the beginning. There were only a few other customers. Had to wait very long before somebody came and took our order for drinks.

Took again much too long before service came and took our orders for food, which we also had to wait a long time for. (Had a plane to catch....and had to cut of our tour around the lovely city, because time ran out).

The two male waiters were incredibly slow and non-observant. The young lady, who noticed it rained, were very kind (and quick) to let us indoor - with the three dogs.

We have no complaints on the food, which we all enjoyed.

But wake up waiters!!

Don't order a j20.. they don't do them as it "isn't that sort of place" I must be such scum

After reading the current reviews it appears there have been no lessons learned. I went here with my family on Sunday with 2 children who were hungry, our table was booked for 1.30 but we arrived at 1.10 so we could have a drink before seating. We were to,d we could have our ta lie as no one was on it, but there was a 20 minute wait as they had a large sitting that had come in, ok we understand that. At 1.50 no one had come over to even take our order so I went up to the bar, the response was from someone who was busy talking to a colleague at the bar oblivious to me standing there, oh I thought we had taken it, he said matter of factor, 10 minutes later our order was taken, the children by now we're moaning as they were hungry, a member of staff gave them a packet of crisps between them, oh joys, then at 2.40 our meal was served, I have been eating here a number of years and to say we were disappointed not on,y with the service but with the meal itself, the lamb was not cooked properly the potatoes were only 3 each and cold, and the veg were, to be honest, yuk, to be fair the manager took some money off the bill, but I would rather of had better service and a better cooked dinner, the prices have shot up but the food or service has not, will have to think long and hard before I eat there again, ��

Popped in today and tried to get a menu after speaking to 4 different people (no one seemed interested in wanting to get us to eat) I then had to really push to see a menu as we did not have a reservation (the place was empty) after another 10 minutes (they had to speak to a manager to see if we were even allowed to look at a menu) we were then brought a menu, by which time we were too annoyed by the experience to order and left. Very poor customer service, shame as it looks really nice.
