Thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of our Charity Raffle for RNLI we raised a total of £330 for them in memory of Tommy Owen and Danny Evans. Would highly recommend, had my birthday party in the drifters bar. It was fantastic, the girls were really nice behind the bar, the food was lovely. Everyone commented on the buffet and how nice it was. We also had the dj who was great and contacted me beforehand about preferences. They were approachable before the party and nothing was any hassle. Totally stress free and highly recommended. Thank you to everyone at the Lobster smack for making my 40th so special xx

Returned after nearly 5 years

Wow what a change. The menu was reasonably varied even a Wagyu burger!

I ordered a ribeye steak that was very cheap. I was a tad concerned at the price, but the meat was delicious and the accompanying salad was nivce. Panco covered squid was delicious.

Staff are really nice, helpful and efficient.

Well worth the detour and forgot I had been years ago.

Just got home from the children's � party ...a massive well done to the lady and the staff who organised it, for £3 it was amazing value including a visit from father Christmas and a present, Billy has come home with iced cookies, paintings salt dough decorations and really enjoyed it .... the only thing I would suggest is maybe setting an age limit or maybe two separate parties for the older children, as children get exited to see father Christmas the older children got quite rough and the small ones could not play, Billy did end up with a bleeding lip but this is no way a complaint about the day ...thr staff and Santa all done a fab job ����� u should be very proud of urself and merry Christmas ������xxx

I can't find fault at all. I found the whole experience pleasant and the food was lovely. We ate with children and I felt that the kids menu was good quality and value for money. I'm not a regular at the lobster smack having moved off the island, but visit occasionally and every experience is a good one. We held a wake here last year and again, the service and buffet food was good. The decor is good too. An all round good, traditional warm and welcoming pub

Had my wedding breakfast (So my other half says!) Basically full wedding reception! Not one compliant, food was great, staff was great, all guests had nothing but compliments for the whole evening. We were so glad we chose the Lobster Smack as our venue and cannot recommend it highly enough

Popped in here on chance today lunchtime.

Hadn’t been here for years when we popped in for a drink in the summers when my parents had a caravan on the island many many years ago.

Glad I thought of it to try.

Excellent meal. Friendly staff. Very clean and welcoming feeling. If I lived local I would certainly be popping in as often as I could.



Definitely would recommend it.

I pop in for a pint and something to eat when I’m in the area and I’ve always enjoyed the place, good food, good pint and a pool table upstairs, everything I need 👍

I only live a short distance and ideal to go for a drink there. Its a nice pub and the staff are friendly. Only thing I didn't like was when ordering fish & chips - the fish was placed on paper on the plate. I found I was eating this paper, because it was sticking to the fish, which put me off from ordering again.

Had meal there last night with 3 others and it was very nice steak was cooked exactly how we wanted it , no complaints at all

Birthday meal for me. Was enjoyable, food was good, hubby's steak was particularly good. I don't have a large appetite at all but it was commented that my cod n chips wasn't that generous. Was more than enough for me as through surgery I have a very small stomach. I loved my berry meringue pie dessert, other desserts were good too. Oh, I didn't have starter but had a bit of someone else's calimari. ..was the most peculiar looking calimari I've ever had, long uniform sized strips....about 6 ins long & 1/4 inch round...very tasty but not a bit like the taste or texture of calimari...tasted like skinny long plaice goujons to me! I did have to feel sorry for staff, they were rushing around like crazy, there only seemed to be 2 ladies taking orders, waiting on & doing the bar. Overall an enjoyable experience & we would go back but are aware of a few menu 'quirks'.

Very disappointed with the Calamari.

It used to be served in rings with a lovely batter now it's out of a bag strips of breaded Calamari.

The Chocolate cake has halved in size with the portion of icecream being served with it being less than a scoop.

We were drinking our after dinner coffee and had the bill plonked on the table, being told "I need the table" we paid and went into the bar. The table was not filled and neither was the rest of the restaurant in the hour we sat in the bar after. Manner cost nothing.

Service a little slow , I think more staff are needed as the poor waitress seemed alone . Food average , I don't think it's homemade but more like pre made .

Had lunch there on Monday 14th May. I am fussy where I eat and I must give credit where it is due. The staff were very friendly and our lunch order was quite quickly delivered to our table. The food was presented well and was enjoyable. I noticed after a while the place quickly filled up and the staff managed quit well. Any place that gives a good meal is bound to get busy, so I would not complain too much if this happens. Well done.

Had a meal there With a friend Wednesday 6th December 2017 had to wait 50 mins for out meal my lady friends course turned up cold and my pie was like a warmed up meal, the pie was like a a plaster brick the mash potato was the size of my palm and few veggies. Not pleased of having to pay around £12 for it.

Had Xmas Dinner there but have to say food was disappointing the size of the dinner was very mean especially for the men service was ok and atmosphere was nice but not really value for money.Have eaten there many times and food was lovely we had the first sitting so wasnt as if they had run out but some you win some you lose

Party of 12 service started well all orders received correctly risotto dish was luke warm had to eat it quick before it went cold original server disappeared waiting To order desserts we had to call someone else over who’s comment was thought you didn’t want any ! Order finally placed took ages to come out again we had to call out for server for more drinks restaurant was not that busy more staff needed to ensure attentive service

I have rated only 2 stars solely on my visit last night.We took 2 of our grand children out for a meal at the lobby, my grandson ordered well done steak, but it arrived cremated and dry, they changed the steak but he had to wait 10 mins by that time we had virtually all finished.The new steak was so tough he could not eat it.I asked my granddaughter why she had left her had burger as she's quiet and never complains, the bun was burnt inside and so was the burger. I am a regular at the lobster smack but on this occasion they really let us down.The price of the burger was removed from bill.

Ordered the scampi. Awful. No condiments at the table had to search for them as waitress disappeared. Had to ask for a wedge of lemon from the bar as the food was as dry as a bone. Clearly pre packed frozen chips, scampi and peas which were like bullets. Really disappointed as the pub is lovely. Did mention to the waitress about the meal and the reply was “oh I’ll let them know” Will not be going back in a hurry
