Lrc Smallholders Description

LRC Smallholdders is smallholding in Carrbrook.

We have a number of different animals from chickens, pigs, goat, highland cattle, Shetland pony and a few others. The animals are spread out over a number of acres but there is always something within the village for you to come and see. Your more than welcome to come and see the animals and give them a stroke and feed them. You can bring your own fresh food for the shop or we have specific animal food for sale in our farm hut.

Within the farm hut you can purchase a number of items from home made cakes, soups, jams, chutneys, to our own free range eggs, free range pork, lamb and our high quality highland beef. We also sell fresh fruit and veg from local Cheshire farms, cabbage, carrots, beetroot, lettuce, sprouts, tomatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, apples, oranges and many others, the stock changes depending on the time and season of the year as to what we have in hut. There is also ice pops and a variety of drinks as well to keep you refreshed.
We rear our own livestock therefore we know whats gone into our product keeping it a high quality and have 100% traceability of the animals. All our animals are free range and primarily fed on grass. Furthermore our animals are slaughtered and butchered locally ensuring to keep the food mileage down. The meat is fresh as we only slaughter as needed.

When are you open?
Monday - Sunday 9am till dark

Is your meat organic?
We do not sell our meat under the organic label as this incurs extra costs on the products we produces the meat as organically as possible . The animals graze primarily on grass and during the winters they are fed silage and additional minerals if needed.

Is your meat fresh?
All our meat is fresh we do have a wide selection of frozen BBQ items which are frozen on production and can be cooked from frozen.

Is the beef matured?
All the beef is at least two week matured on the carcase. The hide quarters are hung for an other week on the bone

How long have you been open?
The Farm hut has been open for a number of years and then expanded in around the year 2009, we introduced selling meat in 2012.
The animals however have been around since the 1980's

Is there animals for the children to see?
We have pets near the hut with a number of animals which change round the year all of which you can see and feed.
