An opera from the age of Hitchcock...
Seldom performed in the UK, this is a rare opportunity to see Barber’s heart-breaking domestic drama. Olivier Award-winning director Keith Warner makes his much-anticipated Glyndebourne debut with this production, which promises to bring out the psychological tensions that sit just below the surface of this charged work.
Tickets for Glyndebourne: Vanessa Live, showing at the Marina Theatre on Tuesday 14 August, are available from the box office on 01502 533200 or from the website www.marinatheatre.co.uk

We have been going to the Marina since 1980 and have always enjoyed the performance. After returning from a 5 year stay in Australia we have once again started visiting the Marina and have booked a few shows for this year. The booking staff are a delight as are the staff in the theatre. All are friendly and helpful. Last night we attended the ELO Again Concert and it was brilliant. Excellent little theatre with a brilliant program.

User

We come on a regular basis and todays show (brainiac live) did not disappoint either, everyone is always happy to help and we look forward to the next one!

The Lowestoft Marina Theatre is amazing !

The range of live shows, theatre , Ballet, Cinema, is astounding , and ensures that there is something for everyone within the community to enjoy and appreciate ! The planning and execution alone , must take considerable effort, and is commendable !

Have noted other comments about the seating leg room , but feel these do not reflect the fact that this an older theatre. I personally try and select the seats I find comfortable , as just over 6ft !

But yes the 'corner stone' are the staff and volunteers , who are exemplary . One can only reiterate , previous comments , they are hard working , but most important are friendly and polite . This ensures a visit to the Lowestoft Marina Theatre is always a welcome experience !

Lovely theatre staff very friendly and helpful Nd some fantastic shows they have love it x

User

I was thankful to win tickets at Christmas myself and my daughter loved the panto... Staff were lovely, rest room was spotless, ice cream delicious... I couldn't have asked for more <3

User

I have now attended two of the RSC screenings at the Marina, last night's performance was Julius Caesar. Fantastic performances from start to finish and all for only £10. Before the performance and during the interval there is more information about the background to the play/Shakespeare/history for those who want it. The café is open for refreshments and comfortable surroundings. More screenings are expected and I will be attending them. I love it!

User

Had a fantastic time at Giovanni Pernice! Lovely theatre, friendly staff and a wonderful night out!

User

First time for me ive traveled from south East and i found the staff very friendly and the latest Pantomime ive Seen Aladin it was amazing. I'll Be booking again some point next year. Venue was easy to get to if it was sign posted which it was thanks again

User

Excellent show .. clapping , singing and dancing all night ! Definitely worth booking to go see ! You won’t be disappointed

User

Can’t beat the marina , our lovely local theatre that we go to several times a year. My dad also has a coffee in there in there cafe every day and is made to feel so welcome by the staff. They all recognise him

User

Saw Gary Mullen and one night of queen last night, brilliant show from him as always, my only gripe with thie marina theatre is that they don't give any discount for disabled people, my husband being in a wheelchair space is when people stand up he can't see a thing

User

Lots of variety on offer at the theatre and I enjoy coming along. However, your 70p booking fee really narks me off! I dropped my son and his friend off at the theatre to see Macbeth last night, £10 the flicks sheet said, 3hr 30 the running time said....I went with them to clarify the end time, so as to pick them up, and it was only 2hr 40 long! Phew, lucky I checked, then their £10 wasn't enough to get in, they needed an extra 70p each. I have checked and re checked the flicks sheet, nowhere does it say 70p per ticket booking fee! Also, they weren't booking it, they were paying on the door, to walk in then and there, so surely no extra fees were needed. As was pointed out to me, Norwich may charge more per booking fee, but I wasn't standing in Norwich, I was at your theatre, not happy with your lack of information regarding the booking fee. To better inform people, why don't you advertise prices as '£10.70 (includes .70 booking fee)'? This way there would be no issue of hidden costs once at the theatre, leaving a bitter aftertaste.

User

No parking close by, one male toilet in the circle, lots of stairs which would make it a deathtrap if there was a fire (took us 10 minutes to get to the exit and that's without a fire panic and all the lights worked!) Hard to recommend a visit. When we arrived for our first ever visit and asked staff where we could park, they were unhelpful at best. Very disappointed to be honest.

User

I like to support our local theatre but charging £2.50 for a bag of sweets that are £1 in Asda is a little over the top, I realise you have to make a profit but hey call the police there’s a robbery taking place!!!!

User

Friendly and hard working staff, but the seats are so uncomfortable, so very uncomfortable, and the auditorium so hot and airless, that I spent the second half clock watching. I'll wait for news of new seats before I visit again.

User

Circle seats are NOT designed for adults!! The leg room is shocking, there is no way an adult can sit comfortably through a show. You need to highlight this when people book tickets.

My husband is 6ft, pretty standard for a man and he was so cramped. We couldn’t have stayed for the second half if the manager didn’t agree to move us.

Also really disappointed that we booked pre sale tickets for Jason Manford and all the pre sale were at the back of the circle not really a great incentive for fans.

Jason Manford was brilliant but marina theatre not so much !!!

User

5stars for the show and performers. No stars for the decidedly grumpy/surly staff we dealt with , could make more of an effort given its Christmas and all about the kiddies!

User

Well what can I say. Firstly Showaddywaddy were fantastic. Excellent entertainment. However, this is not the first time I have moaned about Marina theatre. In October i was attacked by someone with special needs to the point I wrote to the theatre complaining about the stewarding of the theatre... Well lack of it! Last night at a rock n roll gig in the middle of the 2nd half of Showaddywaddy there were a group of ladies who wanted to get up and dance on the side... they were causing no harm whatsoever. For crying out loud can't you have fun and enjoy a gig where the group want to encourage you to get up and enjoy yourself but you have to sit down still in your chair!! I have 1 more show booked to go and see which is the 70s show which, I'm sure there will be people get up and enjoy themselves, after which I won't set foot in that place again. Such a shame, the shows are great, sadly the people who run and work there are a joke. If the reply to this is a Health and Safety one then why on earth do they allow people to punch others (several times I might add), while staff look on but you can't dance in your place and have a good time??? Come on Marina Theatre.... take a leaf out of Theatre Royal!

User

Only 1 star as there is no Induction loop. I enquired about this in July and still waiting for the loop to be fitted. Until then I can’t go to anything at the Theatre as would not be able to hear well enough
