Having my best year for cherry tomatoes. I've had hundreds from just 5 plants and there are still hundreds left that are ripening. I'm putting this down to a decision I made last year to switch to @mrfothergills seeds. I've had so much success with their seeds this year that I think my plot will be exclusively Mr Fothergills next year. I've had 100% germination success with crops I've struggled with in the past. ***Top Tip*** One of the most effective ways to control weeds is to simply hoe regularly. You need to make sure you keep your hoe sharp to ensure a clean cut. Try to run the hoe along the surface to cut the stems of the weeds and avoid digging under the soil. I would recommend hoeing early on a dry sunny day so that the freshly cut weed is exposed to the sun. This will help to scorch, dry the root out and ultimately kill the weed. If the soil is damp when you hoe, there is a possibility thst the weeds could re root and grow back, so be sure to remove any cut weeds and prepare them for composting.
