Mirrorpool Fisheries Description
The beautiful Mirror Pool, set in tranquil surroundings and stocked with a massive head of big carp must make it the most sought after holiday destination. To ensure you have a fishing holiday to remember, we have warm and friendly staff always on hand to give help and expert advice. It was our intention at Mirror Pool to create the best small water carp fishery in France.
Mirror Pool is four acres in size and is set in a wooded valley, situated in the heart of the beautiful Limousin countryside, thirty minutes north of the Dordogne.
This stunning picturesque lake is similar to that most famous of lakes, Redmire Pool. If its peace and tranquility you are looking for, Mirror Pool won't let you down. You would be forgiven for believing that there wasn't another living soul within miles.
At night you can relax, sit back and marvel at the millions of stars on view or listen out for the sounds of wild boar and deer that roam freely through the woods.
Since being purchased Mirror Pool has been meticulously stocked with a large stock of big carp. There are currently around 40 carp over 40lb, 12 over 50lb, 2 over 60lb and the largest going 76lb. The remaining stock over 30lb with an average weight in the lake of over 35lb. Mirror Pool must be the premier water for its size in France and probably all of Europe .
To maximise your enjoyment, we limit the number of anglers to only four per week and we permit non-fishing wives and girl friends go free of charge.
We provide legal night fishing and no additional permits are required. Each swim has a flat area big enough to take the largest of dome tents.
All snags have been removed from the lake; the lake bed is of hard gravel with silt pockets and there is no weed to worry about.
Additionally, the lake is free of the "poisson chat" (American Catfish), so there is no need to use hard boilies.
For your security, the lake is fenced off and your vehicles are parked on the complex close to your swim. We also have an English bailiff on site, who will happily give you advice on the fishing and the local shopping facilities and numerous sightseeing attractions.
A shower and toilet are situated on the banks of the lake for your comfort and convenience.

Millstone pool last week. A few of the 38 fish landed by Steve Bateman's 3 man party. Fish look to be spawning again with this hot weather leading to a number of smaller male fish being caught.

Are your fishing holidays living up to your expectations!!
In the first ten weeks on Meadow Lake we had thirty anglers who caught nine 50s, sixty three 40s, one hundred and fifty five 30s and sixty nine 20s. Only two anglers failed to catch a carp over 40lbs!! Thats an average of over two 40s per angler per week.

9 to 16 June at Millstone Pool Dan Connors party banked 37 fish with 8 forties and 18 thirties. Again terrible mid week rain and thunderstorms slowed the fishing for a few days but the Surrey anglers still scored quite well. Dan fished swim 8 and did some nights in 7 to bank 14 fish with 3 forties to 46lbs and 7 thirties to 38.08lbs. Tom in swim 11 caught 11. After a slow start he had 3 forties to 48lbs plus 6 thirties. Lee in swim 12 landed 5 fish with 2 over forty, the best... a 47.08 common. Stu in 3 and 4 swims took 4 fish to 37lbs. Ben in 1 managed 3 to 39lbs. Mainline Cell and Link working this week.

At Millstone Pool last week, 26 May to 2 June, produced 25 fish with 3 loses to 4 anglers. I think they would have caught more had we not had torrential rain from Monday to Thursday. A sixty, a fifty, 5 forties and 12 thirties were banked. Jack Harvey in swim 12 did well taking 10 fish of 33, 33.2, 35.12, 37, 37.12, 39.4, 41, 44, 44 and 65.08. Simon Duggard had 8 fish to 52lbs, a nice common, from swim 4.... Billy Smith fished swims 1, 11 and 7 to bank 3 fish to 43lbs. Mason Smith in swim 8 took 3 fish to 40lbs. CC Moore's baits and Big carp boilies working this week.

Over at Millstone Pool the 19 to 26 May produced 32 fish to 5 anglers with a fifty, 6 forties and 15 thirties. Paul Gardner in swim 11 banked 12 fish with 3 forties to 46.14 and 5 thirties to 39lbs. Pat Bettesworth in swim 8 took 11 fish to 52.8lbs. Clive Tucker chose swim 12 and also spent some days in the back bay and ended up with 5 fish to 46.08. Mark Hare and Mark Hayes fished along side each other in swim 2 and 3. Mark Hayes was the only one of the pair to catch and lan...ded 4 fish of 47.15, 47.04, 37.02 and 35.12lbs. A mix of Mainline Cell, Hybrid and our coppens pellets working this week.

Millstone pool for 12 to 19 May we had Mark Lippingwell along with brother Dave and friends Simon and Stu. 19 fish were caught but with the onset of spawning a lot of smaller male fish were caught. There were 2 fifties and 5 forties banked. Dave in swim 1 had fish of 48.4 and 44.8. Mark fished swim 12 to bank fish of 51.4, 47.8, 44.8 and 28.8.... Stu in swim 11 took 5 fish to 51. Si chose swim 8 for the week and managed 8 fish to 40.2lbs. Warm weather will see continued spawning this week coming I would imagine.
