What a fantastic New Year's eve at Mowsbury thank you to all the staff for the wonderful food and entertainment

User

The work done over the winter has been well worth it. This course is in fantastic condition. Well worth a visit.

User

My first round at Mowsbury last week and really enjoyed it. Staff were friendly and welcoming which started us off for a good round. Course was well maintained and challenging but not insanely difficult. Will definitely be visiting again, hopefully my golf improves next time...

I joined in April 2014 having previously just been a pay and play golfer mainly to keep up with my son who is a junior member at Mowsbury. Since I joined I have been amazed not only the number of competitions you can get involved in but also the friendliness of the existing members.

For the first time ever I now have a handicap which started at 20 in April and is now at 14Playing on a regular basis has certainly helped this and I am condident that I will be in single figures this time next year! Watch this space.

The course is a parkland course and since I used to walk around with my dad in the seventies it is noticeable how the maturing trees make the course a little bit more challenging each year.

The greens can be a bit slow but they have to be kept a little longer than private clubs because of the number of visitors they get but this is the only comment i would make about the course, all year we play off grass tees apart from the 4 number par 3's and it is very rare to play a winter green.

The driving range has now also been refitted looks great.

Had a great afternoon and course is in good condition for time of year. Was challenging but fun and very helpful in club shop. We had a groupon which made it much better. Really enjoyed it.

User

Excellent value for money course , great hole challenges with hazards to be aware of , wonderful view of Bedfordshire from the 17th tee and good friendly golfers that belong to the club .

User

Enjoyed my round at Mowsbury. I play off 18 and there was the right amount of challenge and forgiveness on this course for me. Open off the tee but some carefully placed fairway bunkers made it challenging and enjoyable. The course play was quick and we got round in 3 hours with the help of a buggy. I will definitely be visiting again.

User

Welcoming and very good driving range facility 👍🏻 My children really enjoy this, thank you

User

Very well kept golf course and a good course

User

The course was brilliant and looked immaculate. The only downside was that the bunkers seemed full of small stones which can really scratch the wedges. I am sure that the bunkers used to be better. But apart from that had a very enjoyable round.

User

Nice course and very enjoyable. greens to a very high spec which gave a true run.

With the fairways being bone dry gave the hands a workout during the round.

And to my surprise made a hole in one on the 17th

User

I'm biased because I'm Secretary of Mowsbury Golf Club, but before that I was a founder member back in the mid 70's, and I've watched the course mature and improve. The course is a fair challenge, and because it was built before space was at a premium, it is quite open. Beware though - the trees have grown considerably over the almost 40 years the course has been open, and numerous more have been planted to improve the look of the holes, and to increase the challenge of the course. Being off line now presents bigger problems than it used to. The greens are almost all over 30 yards deep, so club selection is key, or you could find yourself a long way from the pins. Because of the popularity of the course; there is a lot of foot traffic, so the greens have to be kept a little longer than at private courses, but they are consistent. Membership of the affiliated Mowsbury Golf Club is also available for under £100, which can get you into regular competitive golf with a full program of Medals, Stablefords, Knock-outs and Texas Scrambles. There are also specific events for Seniors which are held during the week. Junior Membership for under 18 year olds is just £25. Get out there and play.

User

Great value public course. It's amazing how they keep it in such a good condition with the footfall. Make sure you book in the summer. Great price driving range £3 large bucket compared with £5.50 at American golf (and the balls are better).

User

Great course. 2nd time I've played here. Some very tricky holes to play, mainly owing to well positioned bunkers.

User

Very playable golf course, some of the green suffer from birds digging up the surface in places.

Bar is a moderate size but has limited opening hours so getting an afternoon tea or light dinner after 5pm is unlikely.

User

Better than a lot of Northampton municipal courses where all they do is worry about filling the golf course. Mowsbury spend time and money throughout the year trying to keep the course in a fairly good condition

User

A good night at our Xmas party last night, service was very good. Unfortunately the food was a let down. Hence the 3*

User

Terrible greens and tee boxes not good either, wasn't even told about the greens. Course is good though and I enjoy playing there. Shame
