These local cows have clearly seen the sign and are forming an orderly queue to get into the Nelson today. Perfect day for a walk, a bite to eat and a pint or two in our beer garden.

Our beautiful neighbour; Horsey Mere mentioned here alongside our sister pub The Pleasure Boat Inn’s doorstep; Hickling Broad. We’re incredibly humbled and proud of our locations, and delighted that you share them with us.

Not a bad recommendation for a bank holiday Monday even if we do say so ourselves.

User

What a gem of a place, couldn't fault it at all. We had starters of whitebait and the mushrooms, mains we had the steak burger and fish and chips. Oh boy I didn't have to eat for the rest of the day. Service was great and we will return next year.

User

What a fantastic quirky pub wanted to call hear for 3y as we were on a boating holiday we could never get under the bridge at Potters Heighem so we decided to park back up in the boat yard and drive up bar staff were very welcoming lots of ales and ciders to choose from and the menus was extremely varied for such a small pub we chose crab salads it was so tasty will definitely be giving this little gem a visit next year. 👍👍👍👍

User

We had Sunday lunch here and the food was amazing. Friendly pleasant atmosphere and a bonus to be able to take our dog in. Will return when we are back in the area

User

Nipped in for a quick drink and the food looked good so booked a table for last night. We were not disappointed, it was delicious. Definitely recommend and am looking forward to the music weekend later this Summer.

User

Lovely little pub, very friendly, great choice of beers and ciders. Good food and lots of it.

Very interesting decor.

A visit is a must.

User

Lovely food and big portions! Highly recommend the fish and chips.. the fish was fresh and the batter was light and crispy A lovely selection of local ales and fruity ciders that complemented the food perfectly

User

Love the Nelson Head. I run some holiday cottages locally (all very dog friendly) and I always direct our guests here for the warm and friendly welcome to hooomans and to dogs. The food is lovely and staff are very welcoming.

Good mixture of snack and main food and vegetarian options too. (Would love some vegan options too guys ;) )

Really really enjoy coming here.

User

I was very impressed. The staff were friendly and they had a very good range of ales and ciders. The prices were not extortionate, which can so often be a problem these days, either. If the boat moorings at Horsey Staithe were free, I would come here more often. I will definitely come again.

User

Great pub, highly recommend it to anyone. Friendly staff awesome food lol will be back again

User

Great little pub with excellent food & cider. Perfect stop for lunch after walking Horsey beach to view the seals.

User

Great food and love the way it looked inside and if the weather had been better a great beer garden for families. Dog friendly

User

Fantastic food and staff so helpful. Highly recommend.

User

Fab traditional pub, great food and super friendly efficient staff. The only slight negative, due to being the driver I could not try the superb big collection of local ciders which were available at the pub. A cider takeaway option would have been nice

User

Didn't have time to stop long but the selection of superb ciders made it well worth the visit!! So good in fact, that we had to get a couple of 3 litre bags to take away!! Great little pub, with lovely staff and an awesome array of real ales and ciders!!

User

Delicious gourmet fish finger sandwich eaten in the sun, lovely staff and the menu is amazing I will definitely be going again and taking my friends. A little gem

User

Came here for lunch on a recommendation from someone and loved it so much we went back the next day!.....food is excellent and staff very friendly, will certainly be back when we are in the area next.

User

Called here after a visit to see the seals, on a hot sunny afternoon

Sampled a couple of the draft ciders to quench our thirst, the girl behind the bar was great with her recommendations

We tried the cockeyed cock bird & the Apple red, which was our favourite, but we only had a half as it’s 8.4% but was really easy drinking so we bought a 5 pint carry out, for our BBQ when we got back home to Manchester just a shame we forgot to ask who brewed it

While sat outside watching various meals being served, we decided to have lunch and we weren’t disappointed. My other half chose a pulled pork sandwich & I had the 5 bean chilli , and hearty flavourful portions were served.

This is a great little pub with friendly knowledgeable staff, good food & even better drinks

User

All I can say is amazing.. very friendly staff and the fish finger sandwich is just great, thankyou all at the Nelson head will definatly be coming back when we are visiting my mum again
