Newbourne Campsite Woodland Camping

About Newbourne Campsite Woodland Camping

Woodland Camping In Suffolk - Camp in the trees or our open paddock.

Newbourne Campsite Woodland Camping Description

We decided to look at the viability of the camp site after using the fields and woods to camp in ourselves. Our friends and family love the site and suggested that we should share this with the community for camping in the woodland so we are developing this with the start of our new web site and social networking such as Twitter and Facebook.

A very Happy Christmas from both of us to all our campers and camping friends, both old and new! We hope you have the Christmas you wish for - and that you will come and see us in 2019!

User

What a lovely surprise!

User

We have just opened Kingfisher Cabin again for guests arriving tomorrow. If you fancy a couple of days away from all the Christmas preparations it will be available from Thursday 13th until Christmas Eve. £75 night, 2 night minimum booking. Winter walks, wellies, woolly vests, woodburner - what a treat!

User

Good forecast for this weekend's weather - how about giving the tent one last airing for the year? 🏕️😃😎

User

An Autumn Friday on the campsite - long shadows and evening mist on the water meadow.

User

The last opportunity for a weekend stay in Kingfisher Cabin this year is 12/13th of October. No further availability then until Spring 2019.🙋‍♀️🙋‍♂️

User

Just a perfect day for a walk to the Maybush by the river at Waldringfield.

User

Just had a cancellation for Kingfisher Cabin for Saturday/Sunday 6th and 7th October. Please email jenrisdale@gmail.com if you would like to book.

User

The field is almost empty - first time in ages!

Are we thinking about Christmas yet?!😧
Kingfisher Cabin will be available for just two days at Christmas 2018. Arrive from 2pm on Christmas Eve and spend a couple of days away from it all in our cosy cabin. You’ll have lots of logs for the wood burner, candle light and a favourite dvd. How about a country walk, or an hour round the fire pit outside to warm your toes with a glass of mulled wine? Yours until midday on Boxing Day - no phones, no wifi - just chill and relax. £250 to include all the logs and candles you can use! Just bring your personal items and whatever you'll want to eat. Everything else is provided.

August availability for Cherry Tree Cabin - Sunday 19th to Friday 24th UPDATE - all dates in August now booked but we still have availability for some dates in September. Please email jenrisdale@gmail.com with enquiries

A couple of days rain ... nice green grass ... Campfires R Us again! Thanks to Neil and Tina for the photos tonight.

User

If you thought you heard a peacock when you were camping with us - you did. And this is his latest family ...

User

Sad to say The Fox pub in the village is closed due to a fire. If you were planning a meal there in the near future I'm afraid you will need to go elsewhere. The next nearest pub is The Maybush at Waldringfield.
UPDATE - the bar will be open from tonight - a bit smokey maybe, but open. No news on the restaurant yet but hopefully contingency plans will be put into place.

We have a new Glamping page on the website with details of Kingfisher and Cherry Tree cabins. So if you've not seen them have a look and see what you're missing! www.newbourne-campsite.co.uk

We have had no rain here for around eight weeks, and we have been dithering over the last few days about whether or not to stop camp fires. Having just watched the footage of the Greek fires we've decided we have dithered enough, and for the time being we are not allowing fire bowls/campfires on site. Barbecues still allowed - with care. I hope you will understand and support us in this, and perhaps do a rain dance so we can have some overnight watery stuff soon!

User

The Met Office advising us to stay out of the midday sun. So camp in the woods and keep cooool ...

User

Where do I start? Maybe the tasty welcome hamper that greeted us in Kingfisher Cabin? Or the wonderful freshly mown meadows where campers dwell in the beautiful woodland setting? Or is it the decking pontoon idly sitting over the pond where I enjoyed a glass of wine whilst watching the ducklings?

Maybe the overriding thing for me was the relaxed but hearty welcome from Jen and Larry who genuinely seem to love welcoming you to their beautiful home.

Can not recommend highly enough and cannot wait to return

We've just come home from a four night stay at Newbourne & myself my husband Kirk & our two boxer boys, Archie & Cooper are feeling very blue since leaving.

This is our third year running of camping here, a couple of times a year if we can. Actually it's like our little piece of heaven & we would stay forever if we could

So Thank you Jen & Larry & for always being so welcoming. Our time spent there just get better & better, the only down side is we have to leave. Hope to see you again soon.

We've been staying at this site for a few years now and always have the best time! The facilities are spotless and Jen and Larry always ensure everything is to the highest standard. There is space for food and drinks in the fridges and freezer and an area to charge phones. Cherry Tree cabin is in an ideal location and has everything you could need. There are beautiful walks on the doorstep and we love the 2 local pubs. We go to Newbourne as regularly as we can and always have a 5 star experience, thank you!

User

We just had our second stay at the kingfisher and just wanted to say what a lovely time we had again. Such a beautiful place, so relaxing, so friendly and my dog Sammy has the best time there too. Such a lovely escape from the busyness of town. Highly recommended.

User

We have just got home from are second visit and we love this site. We have camped and stayed in cherry tree cabin. Such a quite and beautiful place. Attention to detail is amazing with fire pits and bbqs to use. Really clean and looked after shower block always helps towards a good stay. The fox inn down the road does great food to. We will definitely be back next summer without a shadow of a doubt. Maybe this year if we get a free weekend.

User

We booked the cherry tree cabin for two nights.

What a wonder place to visit!

The site is beautiful, spacious and well considered.

The cabin was immaculately clean with lots of thoughtful touches. The kitchen area was well equipped also.

Washing facilities are wonderful too, even down to the beautiful pictures on the walls.

Really looking forward to making time to visit as a camper or even to stay at the Kingfisher cabin.

User

We always come back here for our camping fix because nowhere else we’ve been comes close to Newbourne. It is simply the best. DO believe the hype about this place.

User

WOW what can I say. We are home after 3 nights in CherryTree Cabin and it was the most amazing place ever. It is so much more than the photos show. The attention to detail is incredible. Couldn't of asked for anything more. Such a peaceful relaxing place to be for a romantic getaway. The FirePit was a wonderful thing to have for the evenings. 100% be back

User

There is very little I can add to all the fantastic reviews on this stunning campsite, as it's all been said in previous reviews. The owners Jen & Larry are delightful, the setting is to die for, loan of fire pits and BBQ's a great idea. Immaculate facilities, great little shop. There is nothing not to love about this place - this definitely sets the standard for all other sites to aspire to. Can't wait to come back ( and we haven't even left yet) !

User

Such a great campsite! Quiet, well located, lovely people and great atmosphere. The bathrooms are spotles ! No children allowed so you can sleep in a morning and enjoy a quiet breakfast around a fire :)

Perfect place for an outdoorsy couple. Will definitely go again!

User

Lovely campsite - has everything you need. Covered area to congregate and eat, with fridge, freezer and a box to charge phones and gadgets. Dog friendly (and no kids!) Choice of wooded or open areas to camp, cabin* for those who prefer not to pitch tents (us!) Fire pits and BBQs. Toilets and showers are immaculate, with hairdryer, kettle, extra blankets and bug spray for your use. (Had a little seat the first year we came - if I remember correctly - this was helpful for getting dry after a shower) Washing up area. Walking distance to the Fox Inn which serves lovely food and great selection of drinks - and is also dog friendly! *The cabin is a nice little getaway. Beds with clean sheets, lots of candles and a lovely 'ambience'.

My ONLY niggle is the taps in the toilet blocks - you can barely get your hands under them! Change them and it would be PERFECT!

Been for the last three years and will hopefully be back again next year!

User

Just returned from a wonderful couple of nights in the cherry Tree Cabin. We have stayed 3 times here...camped, cherry Tree Cabin and kingfisher cabin....recommend all options! Can't fault Jens wonderful escape...fresh eggs and fruit n veg for sale, wonderful toilet/shower block...no wifi and no mobile signal...wonderful to escape to the woods. Heard the owl, watched herons and a hawk over the water meadow....will be back to see you soon x

User

Just had two nights in Kingfisher Cabin. Was lovely watching all the birds in the pond and seeing kingfishers flying backwards and forwards. Would highly recommend. Next time might well bring my tent instead for a weekend.

User

If only all campsites were run like this.... Newbourne have absolutely got it right! Gorgeous campsite... they have kept things simple but got the important bits spot on...plenty of space for campers even though the site was SOLD OUT for the Bank Holiday. Excellent clean loo and shower block with powerful and hot showers (and a little spot opposite for phone or gadget charging) Lots of logs and charcoal for sale for campers along with a choice of fire pit or BBQ. V dog friendly too which meant that we all had such a lovely chilled weekend. Thank you x

User

Have stayed here twice before (some time ago) in the kingfisher cabin. Had a marvellous relaxing weekend, no internet, no phone signal! Just absolute bliss! Ideal for those who just want to get away and be away.

Will return when I can get the time to do so.

User

Had a fantastic stay. 4 days camping in the woods. Plenty of wildlife, counted over 16 species of birds as well as rabbits, many species of bats, moles and local Peacocks. So peaceful and relaxing. Owners are lovely and their dog Scooby occasionally pops round for a visit. Definitely recommend this site, the facilities are second to none and their are great. Walking routes around, especially like the 2 mile walk to the local pub The Fox for a lovely meal and a pint or two. Lots to see and visit in the area. Will be back again soon. Thanks.

User

First time staying at Newborne in the Kingfisher, wasn't sure what it was going to be like. We have to say, it was one of the best, most relaxing weekend breaks we have had. The Kingfisher is perfect, equipped with all you need all within a period showman's trailer with a small timber extension to the side. Thank you for a very enjoyable and relaxing weekend.

User

By far the best site I've stayed at. Shower blocks are immaculate and the fire pits are just fantastic..... Sitting around the fire toasting marshmallows is bliss. The shop is well stocked with all the essentials... Including said marshmallows.... And the 'add it to the list and pay at the end' makes life easy. Love the fact that you can choose your spot and not be confined to a 5'x5' pitch. Overall, despite torrential rain, it was a great four nights away. We'll definitely be back..... Thank you x

User

Back to basics. Peaceful place in walking distance of some lovely pubs too
