Newcastle Ravens Rfc Description
Established in May 2006, Newcastle Ravens Rugby Football Club is for people who are interested in playing for, or supporting, a gay rugby team in Newcastle-upon-Tyne and the surrounding areas.
The team was established to encourage gay people to enjoy the sport and to introduce new and potential players to rugby as well as developing the skills of experienced players.
New players (regardless of age, experience or sexual orientation) are welcome throughout the season.
The team now competes in a local league playing local straight teams every weekend and attends the Edinburgh Thebans clinic hosted by the Thebans, we also attend the union cup which is the gay rugby European cup hosted in a different European city every two years and the Bingham cup with is the gay rugby world cup and is also hosted every two years and we of course host our very own tournament the Hadrian cup which attracts around 8 gay rugby teams from around the UK and Europe
The ravens Train twice a week
Tuesdays at Percy Park RFC 7-9pm
Thursday Paddys Freemans Park 7-9pm
Both sessions will include some fitness and rugby skills training and all ages, and abilities are more than welcome
We recommend you bring full training kit including water, gum shield rugby boots and trainers along with shorts and T shirts and long sleeve water proofs and track suit bottoms, Full changing facility's, showers and floodlights are available

The boys have worked their socks 🧦 off 🏉 and we have had some hard fought battles against Caledonian Thebans RFC,Madrid Titanes Club de Rugby and Kings Cross Steelers with loses but strong close scores showing our improvements throughout the last few seasons and wins today in the UnionCup Plate Playoffs against the great and gallant teams of Rebelyons Rugbyclub and Les Gaillards • Paris Rugby Club

A big thank you to everyone that supported last weeks fundraiser, it was a great night and we raised £600 thanks to a very generous donation from an amazing supporter of our club.
All of the decorations, Hawaiian leis, grass skirts and scene setters have been donated to a local First School to help them with their Hawaiian themed Mardi Gras picnic which they are having in a couple of weeks. Finally a big thank you to the staff and Management of The Bridge Hotel in Newcastle for allowing us to host our event at their venue.
