Can you help? Staffordshire University is after people living in the West Midlands who use Facebook and are aged between 40-74 and in relatively good health to be part of an exciting project to help with a study into NHS Health Checks.
All you need to do is click the link requesting to join the group and the team will ask the group questions over the next few weeks about NHS Health checks. This could include the language in the type of leaflets available or how patients can b...e made to feel more comfortable.
This is a great opportunity for you to influence how NHS Health Checks are delivered.
If you would like to help out this exciting project all you need to do is join the university's closed Facebook Group by clicking this link https://www.facebook.com/groups/NHSHealth ChecksProject/

What's not to like? Breast screening saved my life. Just go ☆

User

We were over the moon with Jess and her knowledge and advice! Thank you!

User

Thanks to the staff today, who are all lovely. I went straight in, had things explained to me and 5 minutes later I’d been done!!!! It doesn’t hurt, it’s not a problem at all, so ladies, please go and get screened. It could save your life.

User

Really lovely experience for the first time mammogram. No waiting, kind and respectful staff. It only takes 5 minutes and they can see any issues 5 years before you could detect a lump. An excellent example of how much value we place on the NHS system and the staff . Thank you

User

Ladies, when you get your invite/appointment, take the opportunity and go, there really is nothing to be worried or embarrassed about. The ladies who work for this service treat you with respect, you're in and out within a few minutes, the radiographers have literally seen it all before so you don't have to be self conscious, and its not painful (though I can understand how it may be a little uncomfortable for ladies with small boobs, just gotta grin and bear a little discomfort for literally a few seconds st a time).

Above all, by attending you're looking after your own health... :-)

Thankyou to the ladies at the mobile unit in Newcastle-under-Lyme where I had my appointment earlier today :-)

User

I have been going to the hanley clinic since I was 50 at 66 breast cancer was picked up. I had no lump no signs whatsoever. I am now a 7 year survivor. Every woman should go for this screening you never know

User

Great service, lovely staff & not at all scary! Quick in/out with no waiting around

User

Gina arranged the appointment for me and a client I'm working with, so we both went together..Trainee Radiographer did my screening and was kind and considerate throughout. The appointment lasted a few minutes. Received my positive news last week that everything is ok. Any ladies who are worried about this, please don't be. It's offered for a reason.

User

Been for my first breast screening this morning . Was looked after so well thank you ladies

User

Attended the mobile unit at Queens Hospital, Burton, for my first screening last Friday and can't speak highly enough about the staff and the service. The appointment happened on time and the nurse took time to explain everything to me and was very reassuring. The screening was swift and pain free and the unit was spotless and warm. I left clear about what would happen next and found the whole experience spot on.

My only suggestions would be that the appointment letter state that the unit does not open until 08.48 as I had an early appointment and arrived even earlier!!! It would also be helpful to say in the letter that men are not allowed in the unit as a woman also attending had brought her husband for moral support - women only is a great idea but I must admit I didn't think it would be because I didn't think.

Thanks.

User

Attended my screening today and I was in and out, very efficient.

The student nurse is just completing her training and she was ace.

We need more trainees!!!

Thankyou to our NHS service for saving lives.
