Three Jewels night Tues 21 May 6.30pm door open for tea and hanging out 7.15pm start in the shrine room
... The third talk in our series is from new mitra, Justine, a practising acupuncturist. The title of her talk is ‘Pain, Impermanence and Qi’. Justine says "Buddhism came to China during the Han dynasty (206 BC - 220AD) and began to influence Traditional Chinese medicine through massage and herbal knowledge from India. As an acupuncturist, I like to help patients manage their pain with meditation and the concept of impermanence."
Next week we have a talk from another new mitra, Clare Precey. Her title is : 'How to be a carer on the Buddhist path'. Clare talks about the challenges of raising a disabled child and how Buddhism is helping her do that.

This month's theme will be on the practice of gratitude. Gratitude is a challenging practice, but can lead to a profound joy and appreciation of life.
This month we are pleased to welcome back Padmadaka, who will be leading us in this workshop and guiding us in ways to connect with the practice.
Padmadaka spent many years living and working in at Padmaloka, a local retreat centre. He is one of Norwich Buddhist centre's former chairs and currently works for Karuna, a Buddhis...t charity which does work in India.
It offers an opportunity for men to get together to explore and practice meditation and Buddhism. Open to all men. Beginners welcome.
We meet every last Saturday morning of the month.
This event is by donation.

This week Jessica’s intriguing title is: 'Work and Play: the boundary blurring power of the Dharma.’ Jessica says "The Dharma is increasingly awakening me to the deeply creative nature of existence. Through this talk I will explore my own connection to work, play and creativity and how, with awareness and the power of the Dharma, we can engage more playfully with the whole of our lives.”
Next week Justine is going to be talking about her work and life as a Buddhist and acupuncturist. The title of her talk is: ‘Pain, Impermanence and Qi.'

... Much of the turbulence we experience in our mind is due to an inability to forgive ourselves and others, or to let go of our high expectations. So we engage in a battle against how things actually are; in reality. Beneath this lack of forgiveness we are fine; not just fine but brilliant and worthy of a self-love which in its fullness embraces everyone and the whole world. Our practices today will be based on metta, gratitude, and forgiveness, and include led meditations, poetry and reflection.

To take up meditation is to introduce a powerful force for change in your life, and can be the beginning of life's greatest adventure.
This introductory morning is an opportunity to sample a deeper meditative atmosphere and be introduced to our two meditation practices: the mindfulness of breathing, which enhances our awareness and peace of mind; and the metta bhavana - the development of loving kindness - which brings about a gentle but potentially radical transformation in... our emotional experience.
Led by Karunachitta
