During our visit to the Hearth & Home show by The Fireplace Marketing Company Ltd in Harrogate earlier this month, we had the opportunity to see the Passo E upright stove from Spartherm's ebios-fire® range.
The Passo and others from the range offer some considerable advantages over conventional stoves and fires in that they require no flue for the release of exhaust gases, therefore no chimney is required, nor air brick exposing your room to the cold outside.As they are fuell...ed by bioethanol, there is no need for a gas connection and the products of ethanol combustion as carbon dioxide and water meaning no sooty residue on your glass to clean and no odours.
The Passo E is available in a range of colours, some of which can be seen in the video and, if an upright stove is not for you, there are many more designs to choose from in the range.
ebios-fire® fireplaces are exclusively fuelled with bioethanol – or simply “ethanol”. Bioethanol is a non-fossil fuel with a neutral environmental track record made by fermenting the sugar and starch components of organic matter– mainly sugarcane, potatoes and crops like grain or even hay.

Besides enjoying the warm hospitality and sampling some of the local cuisine, we got to take a tour of Barbas Bellfires' excellent showroom to see some of their latest gas fires in action. We know carefully photographed images can really show off a fire but that it's also great to see the fire in action in a normal setting, so we've put together a short video of some of the fires we saw last weekend and we hope it gives you some inspiration!

We know you love seeing pics of our installations and "before and after" ones are particularly popular. With electric fires becoming the up and coming must have item in new homes, we thought we'd show you one of the myriad possibilities for installation we can provide for you.
The fire shown is the British-made Evonic e-Series e1500gf3, a large, landscape electric fire with a highly realistic fuel bed ideal for setting into the false chimney breast you see here. The chimney b...reast itself is created and installed by our fitters on-site to match specifications provided by our surveyor to ensure the perfect fit to the fire. In addition, our customer asked us to install a television on the chimney breast which, along with the fire, creates a real focal point for the room. Our fitters have also extended the frame for our customer to build shelving on to at a later time.
The fire is one of the latest designs from Evonic and features a fully-programmable thermostatic remote control, allowing you to set a 7-day schedule giving you complete control over your room's heating, and can also be set via the free downloadable app for your phone or tablet.

Bank Holiday Weekend is nearly on us and we hope you all enjoy what for many is an extended weekend!
We are open for business as usual on Saturday, from 9:30AM to 4:00PM, closed Sunday, and closed again on Bank Holiday Monday.
We will reopen for business as usual on Tuesday, 7th May at 10:00AM.
