Having seen Dad and brother's recent successes at Oak Lake Reanna Miller decided it was time she had a go and here's her holding a really nice looking common weighing 16lbs 12oz. Good angling and good dress sense as we like the baseball cap.

23 lbs mirror carp for Tony Macca caught in the bay swim on Pipe lake

fished the match lake during the week bit of a slow start then the fish came on the feed fished pole close up to a lilly pad fished a few inches overdepth using 4mm pellets and feeding micro pellets glad i dont use a keepnet as i wouldnt of lifted it out the water loads of tench crucians roach and a few skimmers plus several of the carp that dont like being hooked in all a bloody good day after being told that its a bit slow and not fishing very well

The fellas from Oi Oi Carping UK held a match on Oak lake. This was won with a lovely 19lb 2oz common, a lot of fish came out over the weekend even tho there was a lot of angling pressure. The venue and the staff where superb. We was allowed to use the BBQ and had total use of the facilities. The breakfast that the fellas chef up is bang on. Definitely worth a visit and the chaps make you more than welcome. We will definitely going back... from all of us at Oi Oi Carping UK thank you Oak lakes.

My first visit was very impressed with the staff and all the facilities toilets for him and her! This is very good as my partner always goes fishing with me and to have a ladies loo aswell is really good� food from the cafe to (and bait)�� plus the swims are spotless well done lads good work ....see you next week defo!!�

I love this place .....only been 3 times and caught some crackers every time. I'm from Carlisle so don't get to fish it often....but when I'm down at families caravan it's the only place I will fish......roll on next time.

I fish these lakes regularly once a week and I am not a carp specialist but over the past 8 months I have only drawn 2 blanks generally manage to catch fish all day long. Last week I landed a lovely tench around the 5lb mark. Plenty of roach and perch occasional bream and smaller carp. Bailiffs friendly and helpful - love it - got to miss out this week and suffering from withdrawal symptoms.

My 11 year old and me decided to do an overnight session on the main lake on Saturday and were gobsmacked by the results far too many fish to count but mainly all tench, crucian and common carp. You can't avoid the odd snotter! Nearly everything caught was over 4lbs with tons in the 8lbs and many over 10lbs. Hooked new PBs for me and my son, him with a 15lbs 6 common and me with a 17lbs 7 common. The guys are great and make you feel very welcome, will be back again next week.
