Wonderful afternoon - Spa so relaxing and comfortable! Facial and massage was perfect! Girls were so friendly and explained every step of treatment. Would not hesitate to recommend to anyone! Thank you for a lovely afternoon x

This place is amazing, from the outdoors to the bedrooms! The service is also great! Attended a wedding there and it was Fab!

Had a really lovely nights stay! Room was clean & fresh. Even though 3 weddings happening during our stay, not disturbed once. Breakfast was lovely, all staff we met were friendly, helpful & attentive! Karen in the Cafe Sartoria was so lovely & helpful & friendly! Loved the beautiful setting!

We stayed here last night as we were attending a function in the evening. We were greeted with such a lovely warm welcome in the cafe sartoria as we decided to get there early to have a bit of lunch. The girls were lovely and friendly and Helen particularly stood out and served us every time with a lovely friendly smile! Thank you Helen � Our room was lovely and spacious the place itself is done out with fabulous decor and is set within stunning grounds! We had an amazing experience here and will most definitely be visiting again for a spa day,,,, the reason I didn't give it a five star rating is because the public toilets let it down badly one was out of order in the cafe and the other one smelled terrible and the bin was full of tissue and overflowing! Other than this small problem we highly recommend a visit to Orsett Hall.

We booked for the night as were attending a function. Our room was above the Sartoria cafe and spa. Rooms a good size very comfortable with good bathroom. We had a drink at the bar in the cafe and the staff were lovely. The function was held in the Pavilion, good service and food was ok, always difficult when catering for large groups. Our breakfast in the Garden restaurant was lovely. The grounds look lovely and it seems very popular for weddings, parties etc.

Took my Mum, 2 sisters and a family friend for afternoon tea on Sunday 25th February

A post and pre birthday and early Mothers Day treat. I had seen some bad reviews and a friend had recently had a bad experience so was expecting slow & un enthusiastic service. However we were seated on time for our 3:30pm slot offered our choices of tea which were served quickly. I have a nut and fish allergy the staff confirmed this with me, and I was provided a separate cake stand filled with pretty similar items to my family just all nut and fish free. This was lovely as at other venues my plate has been totally different

The food was yummy and our tea was replenished 3 times we were even able to change our tea choices which was lovely. Staff were attentive and the whole afternoon was relaxed and enjoyable. Very nice experience at this venue again.

I’m here quite regularly with work. Tonight has been surprisingly good, the Sartoria Cafe was ridiculously busy with overly demanding customers but the lady behind the bar, Helen was amazing, she kept even the most “annoying” of them happy and the regular guests just as much so.



Helen is a star.

I recently went to the Sartoria Cafe ( on two occasions) and it was a very nice, lovely seating area and lovely staff. We expected the teas, special coffees to be more expensive as it would be in that sort of environment. I only drink tea and my only complaint is after paying £2.50 I received a mug of tea. In this type of establishment I expected a pot. After all if I wanted a mug/paper cup of tea I could have gone to McDonalds or my local cafe. Either reduce the price of the tea or provide pots.

My husband booked afternoon tea for my birthday. Beautiful place waitress staff were excellent. But for the price the food was not great just 6 finger sandwiches not even the size of a fishfinger. The cakes were poor. Very over priced for what food you got.

My self and my friends stay with you on the goldmine soul evenings.

On two occasions our room was at the back of the hotel

And have been kept awake by staff cleaning up,

Barrels been moved around, Talking, shouting!

Very annoying,

On the second night of this happening, I rang reception three times , and no answer.

The reception had no one there earlier on in the evening also! Very unprofessional.

Also the walls of the hotel must be so thin, you can hear conversations of the other guests if you have adjoining rooms,

Another problem we had trying to sleep!

Big problems that need sorting, I have had a better nights sleep in a travel lodge or holiday inn .

Hugely disappointed

I booked on line asking for the taster menu, only to be told o must book at least five days in advance AND pay for it in advance too. Also they don’t do it for single customers, I explained that I was a widower and wanted the menu I was told no, so I asked them not to contact me again. Shortly afterwards I got.........



My colleague discussed with me regarding your request in order to have a tasting menu in our Hotel for 1 person and the answer was negative due to the fact that the minimum that we can arrange is 2 people.



I am sorry for the inconvenience this might have caused you and I would like to offer you the following solution if it is something that you will agree.



It will be absolutely fine with us for yourself to come for a tasting menu just by yourself but the final amount paid would be for 2 people not for only one.



Please let me know what you think for the above.

Suffice to say I DID let him know EXACTLY what I thought.

Reviewing restaurants is my hobby I have submitted over 1000 reviews to trip advisor and many other sites and this is only the second venue I have come upon that can’t cope with singles.

A group of friends and I booked the xmas Saturday party night, a stay over at the hotel and spa treatments for the Sunday. The food was very good, the breakfast was delicious but the music at the party night left a lot to be desired. Massage was £33 for 25 minutes and although it was a good massage we were Very disappointed that even though we spent hundreds of pounds each, the spa still wanted to charge us £10 to use the pool, steam and sauna even though we all had treatments booked! I thought that was extremely poor form. With that in mind, I don’t think we will go again.

iv been coming to orsett hall for the last 10 years. had my baby shower there, my 30th birthday party there. many events for adults and children including 2 Christmas day meals there. but so far this has been the worst one yet! came with a group of friends Saturday 24th February and the sevice was terrible everything felt like an effort to the staff. no one came to ask if we was ok or if the food was ok. when we did ask for more tea the waitress said we had 10 minutes before we had to leave. well if anyone is a tea drinker like me they would of been able to drink at least 3 cups of tea in 10 minutes. the only good thing about our experience was the lovely bar tendor in the sports bar. she gave us 10 out 0f 10 service and was so chatting and smiley whereas the less helpful staff where we had afternoon tea have put me right off coming back and I won't be making an appearance back there anytime soon.

Went to a wedding at The Pavillion at Orsett Hall. It had snowed but much of the ground had not been cleared. The entrance at the doors had not been touched and was so dangerous. The trudged snow had turned to ice by the time we had left and for women in heels it was such a hazard. I am so suprised a place such as that did not clear the snow from the entrance we were expected to use. Was disgusting actually. If anyone had a fall i would not hesitate to sue for such negligence. The hall was also cold. The toilets were downstairs which was not convenient with lots of older people who found it difficult. With another party downstairs by the toilets, it was quite uncomfortable to have to cross paths with those party goers. Altogether a dreadful day experience

I would strongly recommend that no one has events esp weddings and orsett hall. After the shambles of the staff and all the cock ups you Defo don't get what you pay for. I feel sorry for my friend who quite frankly had her wedding spoilt by their incompitence!!

I find it disgusting that you discriminate against travellers tarnishing all the family you have taken money from work hard for what they want and are the most loving family to cancel their only daughter's wedding a week before and refuse to give and Money back is a disgrace

I am speechless at the customer service this venue has provided to a friend of mine. They have cancelled her wedding just ONE WEEK before her big day for no adequate reason. Merely the fact of them being from the traveller community. They have paid in full for the venue and haven’t received a refund for this without the endless list off additional costs that will be lost i.e flowers, dj, suits the list goes on. They won’t even help find another venue. No one deserves to be treated like she has been and I can only imagine how heartbroken she is that her wedding isn’t going to go ahead. Shame on you ... extremely unprofessional and I hope they decide to take legal action.

Cancelling a wedding with just a weeks notice AND on top of that have refused to refund money! Horrific discriminatory service! One I would, and will, urge people to steer very clear from! �

Awful afternoon tea.. £25?? Seriously, I’ve had better afternoon tea in garden centres...very poor quality food and dreadful dirty tin teapots. No ambience in the room, waiting staff sitting at tables outside smoking...dreadful.
