Barbeques are a great time to catch up with family and friends, but please keep pets safely looked after at them as well. Our graphic below gives some good points to make sure they are a fun occasion, not a trip to us with a sick pet!

Does your dog like to swim in lakes, or drink from streams?
Keep an eye out for blue-green algae in the water as this can be harmful to pets (and humans!) if ingested.

If you are going to the beach this weekend with your doggies, be careful of some potential dangers. Like and share this post :0)

User

This is why it is important to not walk your dogs in the heat of the day .

User

Good afternoon,
As the temperature rises this weekend, ensure you keep all animals out of the midday sun and provide them with fresh water. Never leave them in the car.
All animals love a paddling pool to stay cool! Have a great weekend Facebook friends :0)

Forever Home Wanted for Louis & Bobby
One of our lovely client's would like to rehome Louis and Bobby for personal reasons and we wanted to help them find a forever home.
Louis and Bobby are 4 1/2 month old male bunnies; they have been neutered (as of 12/7/18) and are fully vaccinated. Although separated at the moment they should be able to live together again now they have been neutered!
... Louis is a brown & white butterfly lop. Bobby is fawn with brindle markings and a white stripe down his face - he has one upright ear and one lop- very cute !
Both bunnies are very friendly, love their cuddles ,are very inquisitive and are used to being handled.
They are both playful & love throwing their toys around !! They also love their food and eat a variety of vegs and herbs-parsley ,dill ,carrot tops ,rocket, to name a few!
To date they have been indoor rabbits but I’m sure they would adapt to being outdoors.
Both rabbits are allergic to Timothy hay so need to be fed either meadow hay or sweet green hay . Louis has also had snuffles but has been successfully treated for this.
Obviously an experienced owner would be preferable for the bunnies but a good home is what we want- they’re very much loved by us so it’s a real wrench to let them go!
Our client does not want any money, just a forever loving home! They’ll come with runs ,toys, carry cases ,food ,hay etc.
If you are interested in rehoming these very cute boys, then please call Katie Grimble on 020 8505 1435, we will work on a first come basis.
Thank you

Went for first time tonight with my little Russian Dwarf hamster Bongo, despite being bitten by the little guy the vet was great! I was very worried before going that Bongo was suffering but the vet eased my mind! Bongo wasnt the least bit stressed when we got home either. Fantastic, thank you!

User

Truly a wonderful place, I have worked here for 11 years! The animals are treated with amazing care and this is what makes pvg the best.

User

This is a fantastic vet hospital. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. Whenever we take our cats here, I'm always struck by how much all of the staff - nurses and vets alike - genuinely care and take a real interest in them and their well being. It's extremely reassuring and I would highly recommend!

User

They are amazing. Kind and caring I’ve been taking my cats there for years. Wouldn’t go anywhere else

User

The whole team are incredible. Sadly, we had to say a heartbreaking farewell to my beautiful cat, Mia, but Martin was so gentle with her and put us all at ease. Saying goodbye was extremely difficult but the team were so supportive and kind.

Thank you all for the amazing work you do! I couldn't recommend you more!

User

The level of care that this surgery has given our cat family members over the years has been exsemplory. Thank you

User

Thank you to Vet Martin and Shelley, Kate, Catherine and all the caring staff at PVG. Your sensitivity, empathy and support was invaluable yesterday when my beloved Yorkie Toby was put to sleep. Your care this week has been exceptional and it means the world.

User

Thank you for everything you have done for our Cooper, couldn't have asked for more! We're so happy to now have him home causing havoc again!

User

Sadly we had to say a heartbreaking farewell to our beloved 19 year old cat, Wilma, this week. How I will miss my beautiful cat's purr. Alistair Duncan was incredibly professional, experienced, empathetic and kind. Mike and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts for minimising the stress and upset of the situation and helping us say goodnight to Wilma in a dignified way. Thank you all at Palmerston Veterinary Hospital. You are doing a wonderful job. Best wishes, Sharon & Mike Wood

Palmerston Vet Hospital have been caring for our various cats for over 18 years now and have been so caring and supportive through good times and bad. Recently we had to say goodbye to our senior cat Lilly, aged 17 and we can't thank them enough for the kindness, compassion and care that both Lilly and ourselves were shown.

User

My family and I have taken our dog to Palmerston for the past 13 years. The quality of care and service has always been excellent. Unfortunately, we had to put her to sleep today. The level of professionalism and compassion shown by Alistair Duncan today was second to none. He took a call from me out of hours (on a bank holiday weekend) and he was at the surgery within fifteen minutes of me calling him. He could not have made the experience any less stressful or upsetting for us and am very grateful to Alistair & everyone at the surgery for their help over the years.

User

Just got back from having Charlie the beagles annual booster and check up with Alistair. As per usual exceptional service. Alistair has looked after all of my dogs for over 20 years, don't think I could trust another vet to provide the care and attention that he gives.

User

If only my doctor had 10% of the knowledge, care and attention of my vet...Alistair is amazing and my pets have been seeing him for 20 years and he still pulls little miracles out of the hat but all the other vets are super too as are the nurses and reception staff. I am moving out of the area soon but will still bring my animals to Palmerston.

User

I'd like to thank vets and receptionists from Palmerston Vet Hospital.

I had a call from the Hospital yesterday - I was told that our cat Zews was brought to them after he was hit by a car. There was so much sympathy and kindness in voice and words of the person who spoke to me...

Today I visited the Hospital to take our Zews home. The lady from reception took me into a small room, offered me water and tissue, as I started crying... some minutes later another lady brought in Zews. He was carefully wrapped in a pink blanket and looked like he was peacefully asleep, as they washed him not to scare me with the results of the accident. The lady kindly offered me water, she turned some of the lights off and offered me to stay as long as I needed.

Never before I saw so much care and attention to myself as to a pet owner. Thank you for your support, thank you so much!

User

I cannot praise too highly the staff at this practice. They are so kind as well as excellent in the standard of knowledge and care for their patients. I am very grateful that I can take my cats there - even though they all hate the basket and car ride !

User

I can't recommend this veterinary surgery enough . Very kind attentive nurses and vets that give me confidence in them and lots of reassurance . My little chihuahua lotta has just had an orthopedic operation with Hermann and I know she's been in the best hands possible .

User

Could only give 5*! Amazing friendly staff who are always more then helpful in answering all your questions, couldn't of found a nicer vets :')

User

Amazing people. So wonderful when Abbey1 was so ill. Could never even think of going to another vets (unless in the Scottish highlands!)
